Hotel El Quemaito - Luxury Oceanfront Retreat, Barahona1 / 30
8.5
Barahona, Juan Esteban KM 10 🧭 Map
Very good service, good food, friendly staff Beautiful view of the ocean, nice pool
A hidden gem in the south west of the Dominican Republic. We felt right at home from the check in. Lovely place, very cozy, great food, nice pool. But the highlight is the view from the place
Simple hotel, nothing fancy, but the room was awesome. Very clean. The only inconvenient was a lady smoking in the breakfast area restaurant. I spoke to the owner, but apparentely it was normal
It’s very clean, comfortable beds, air conditioned rooms. I’ve stayed in this hotel six times doe work and I returned for my family vacation. Will definitely be coming back
Very good place. Excellent view. Good attention
Exceptional place to stay with the family.

Santo Domingo, Calle el Conde 355, Zona Colonial 🧭 Map
Although the hotel is on calle conde, the busiest walking street in the DR, it's very, very quiet. No hot water, again, you get what you pay for. I will stay here again if I have a 1 or 2 night stay
I gave the rooms 3 stars, because you can't expect much for the price. Other hotels at this price in Santo Domingo are really be bad

La Romana, Carr. La Caleta 🧭 Map
Very beautiful hotel, with very nice design and pool area with bar. The beach and the area not the best. But for some go to excursion or need to go stay a Romana for work it is a great option. Very good food
Nice, clean hotel, nothing exceptional but you have all you need and all in all everything is in order. Very good value for money and friendly staff. A little bit noisy at night and it was only possible to pay in cash
My room didn't have a window, but the ceiling was very high, so it didn't feel cramped at all. The facilities are a bit dated, but that's insignificant compared to the price! The staff were also very friendly!
Excellent pick. Close to cruise port, there's a great chicken place two blocks away, and the family-run hotel is very welcoming. Shout-out to Davide, Micaela, and Joseph
The hotel offers excellent value for money, located right in the colonial district, making shopping very convenient. It has an open-air restaurant with very good food
La Romana trip Patricia and Mariano make sure guests feel like family. Place is cozy and very comfortable.

Calypso Beach Hotel, Boca Chica1 / 25

Boca Chica, C. José Francisco Peña Goméz Esq 🧭 Map
I planed to stay with my Family for 1 day. Finally we extended for more days. Helped to organize a trip to San Domingo. The kids really enjoyed the swimming pool
Near to the hotel is beach with no waves, ideal for small kids. On the room there is LCD with Netflix. We enjoyed Dominican breakfast and omelette. Some staff does not speak English, but has a big afford to help
It wasn't until I'd settled in that I thought to check the price online. There is "beach" in the name, but this is not a beach front property. The hotel is about half mile from the water
There's tables and chairs from the restaurants, then there's water. The dining area was dusty and the pool could have used a little scooping to remove the little bits of debris
Half of a mile is nothing to walk, but it's atop a steep hill. Also, there's no beach, per se. There's water, but nowhere to set up a towel on the sand and lay
José Kilson from maintenance was incredibly kind and helpful, and the women in the kitchen—especially Rocío—were so sweet, ensuring my family and grandchild felt extremely special

Costa Linda Beach Hotel, Boca Chica1 / 6

Boca Chica, Abraham Nunez, 1 🧭 Map
Its was all good for the price, Pros : just a few steps from the quiet boca chica beach, and plenty of very good restaurants on the beach, descent space rooms, 14 mins away from airport wich cost about less than $10 on Indrive rideshare app, dont use Uber! Cons: if you are picky then dont come, but rooms are 100 % clean
It's super convenient to the airport and close to Santo Domingo, but offers a wonderful escape from the hectic city! It is directly facing the beautiful waters of Boca Chica Beach and close to surfing at La Boya
More can be done in this hotel with such a beautiful access to the beach to the restaurants, I read other reviews there is hot water
Morning time definitely you can bring the kids nighttime its a different story, the seafood around the area is fresh
The rooms have been recently updated and are very comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to the south coast of the Dominican Republic
Warning: They cut the water on the overnight around 2 am, be ready to deal with that. Is clean but not for folks or picky people .

Comfy for budget traveler with basics Was comfy and clean for budget traveler but don't expect much any luxurities given cheap price. The free breakfast is very nice thing.
Great hotel , love the service , yes the menu is ok but the ambiance is private and unique close to the many restaurants and touristic sites ...will stay there again
Room was clean , we had hot water and air conditioning and staff was very nice and welcoming
Riparbella in Santo Domingo is like my house in DR. Great place with fantastic staff.
Great place to spend long stay and feel like at home.

Santo Domingo, Av. Independencia 1107, Sona Universitariya 🧭 Map
The location was great though because it was right by the beach and the price was unbeatable, considering the fact there is really great AC and complimentary wifi. Parking is very minimal, but it wasn't a problem
Everything is excellent. Just one note. It says the breakfast is included but is not. Consider removing if is not provided.
I stay every week due to a medical follow up and it’s like family now.
I eventually got another but there was no network connection at all in the room, spent all my day either sitting at the reception or by the stairs just to access internet
It was an interesting experience because the rooms have windows that look into the hallway. They have curtains but people can still kind of see into your room
I was first put in room 210 and the room was messed up, the bathroom was even leaking, and i was forced to request for another room which took forever

Villa Chiara Hotel, Las Terrenas1 / 30

Las Terrenas, calle 27 de Febrero 🧭 Map
There are two single beds upstairs. Beach is directly in front of hotel after crossing the street, though not much room for a beach
The place is very clean and the staff are very nice and helpful. The complimentary breakfast here is great and has a great view of the beach. The pool is kept pretty clean and even lights up at night
Nice beach point within 5 minute walk (East) that has chairs for rent and coconut trees for shade
Beautiful place, convenient to everything. Great beaches right across the street!!!
Villas clean with a/c in sleeping area. Downstairs has a room with a king bed and closed room while upstairs has air also, but not as cool since it is open to the main area with curtains partially giving privacy
Josefina made our reservation so easy and communicates well with any needs we had to the staff. Location is perfect and breakfast great with a beautiful view of the ocean from the second floor above the offices

Las Terrazas VIP Pool Beach Club & Spa, Punta Cana1 / 30High rating
10
Punta Cana, calle Los Corales, VIP area Las Terrazzas 🧭 Map
Feels lime after renovation! Both room and decor was fresh and brand new. Pool view is amazing! Beach is just few steps and they show you personal umbrella and loungers
The pool is great, short walk to beautiful beach. No hot water on the island
There are 4 bars on the beach, so many options for drinks and food. In resort territory there are 5 restaurants but better options if walkin the town. I can recommend Trebol restaurant
Great place to visit. Go to the waterfalls and make sure you take the horse. It's a heck of a walk. Up and down hills
There was no facility to put soap or shampoo in the bathroom, the battery in the TV remote control ended its life and emitted acid, the sink's tap in the bathroom was out of order, it was stuck on very hot water, without pissibility to adjust the temperature of the water
Big apartment but empty with some rooms that are not even finished. Comfortable beds. Big kitchen but not even a single tea or coffee bag. Lot of noise from the outside and some windows cant be closed fully.

Just came here for the Beach Vibes today! The beach and the water were amazing. Also, the Marina Bar at the boat dock was the best. The Bartender did her thing all day!! Amazing Service!
The beach area is beautiful, white sand, beach sports and the Marina makey where you can take boat cruises, island lunch and fishing trips. O I forgot to mention that's a restaurant as well
Hotel is already a little old, in need of renovation. The food served is ok, but could be tastier. The hotel's beach is very good.
The beach is near to the hotel.

The only downside was that it's about 5min walk along the street to reach the beach (& sadly they were putting new asphalt on the street in front of the house, which included some noise - nothing the wonderful team could do anything about
The view from our room was insane and the location of the hotel is perfect. You can walk to the beach in less than 10mins. The rooms are really spacious and clean. Owner is very chill and welcoming
If you want to have peace and relaxation I recommend this hotel 100%, the staff is very accommodating and friendly. The room was clean, my only subjection is to keep the pool cleaner
La Ensenada vacation Very friendly and welcoming staff. Super close to the beautiful beach La Ensenada. Delicious and affordable food. We felt right at home.
The rooms are spacious and very clean. It's a family friendly hotel in Punta Rucia just a few blocks from La Ensenada Beach and Punta Rucia town
Friendly, helpful & attentive staff, excellent breakfast, spacious rooms that were very clean. Making drinking water easily accessible on every floor was appreciated. It's in walking distance to a beautiful beach

Best experience I had in Dominican Republic. Markets, fast foods, restaurants, banks, all U need nearby. Great stuff, kind, polite. Clean rooms, homy. 24hrs service. Swimming pool, ambient =dreamy. Highly recommended.
My husband and I loved our stay at San Marco Hotel. Perfectly located near the Malecón and only 3 kilometers from la Zona Colonial. The hotel has a charming lobby beautifully decorated
We especially loved the inside courtyard where we enjoyed our breakfast surrounded by nature. The breakfast was delicious and the waiter who assisted us was very friendly
Location in city centre, with facilities around the corner and a beach on walking distance to enjoy the sea view
From the polite front desk when checking in, to the convenience of using the elevator, the clean rooms and comfortable beds, to a delicious breakfast
Our room was spotless and spacious with a very comfortable bed. We highly recommend this place and will definitely return

Hotel Gazcue, Santo Domingo1 / 13

Santo Domingo, Calle Danae 2, Gaskue 🧭 Map
Simple hotel to spend a cozy night before your c-section due to hospital distance. Nice bed, good air conditioner, warm and cold water, good room service. I'll be back!!
This is a great small hotel, with everything included. Air conditioner, smart TV, each room has a bathroom and much more.
Cheap and decent are the two words I would use to describe hotel gazcue. Located in gazcue, it gives you easy access to zone colonial. Also the Malecon is not far away. The rooms are okay, there's a tv, bed, etc
There are much better alternatives, but if you're looking to save a few bucks and you don't mind staying in a 3 star spot by all means go for it. It's clean and the staff is really nice
One of the best guest houses that I've been in. the rooms are being cleaned every single day and the bath towels replenished every single day by a kind cleaning lady
Budget hotel but decent the staff was very attentive, overall good location, clean, and cheap... I'll be back if I need a place to crash when in town.

Punta Cana, Av España / esquina Francia 🧭 Map
Traveled to Punta Cana mid February. The weather was great, ocean clean and warm. Not so many seaweeds, and our beach area was always cleaned.
There was no hot water, apparently they were renovating something. The water in the pool was cloudy with rust. The breakfast was disgusting 🤮 The only positive is the low price
property put a little bit wrong location. with is ok for Dominican Republic). It is not so close to the beach as on the map. it is 30 min walking or 8 min drive which is not bad
The beach is impossible to get to. There are huge hotels on the road that don't allow people to cross their property. I had to walk halfway around town or take a taxi
Decent for the price If you want to stay somewhat near the beach but not pay for a big resort, it's a decent place
staff is good , location is the best for night life which is I was looking for. Probably this place not for the family or individual who looking for luxury stay

The animation is very good, prizes are given for participating in competitions. Friendly, funny and kind animators, I especially liked Keila. Night show is worthy and interesting
Good food Good bar service Terrible reception service
Great resort! Good value. Lots to do while you are there. Beach is beautiful. Pool is great. All the bartenders are amazing, talented and attentive.
The private beach was a dream – complete with day beds, crystal-clear water, and plenty of space to relax. The pools were stunning too – perfect for both families and adults looking to unwind
A small heads-up: the hotel is a bit far from the airport and the city center. We had a rental car, so it wasn't an issue for us, but I didn’t see a shuttle service offered, which could be inconvenient for some guests
Whether you're craving international cuisine or local flavors, the options are endless and delicious. The in-house entertainment was top-notch, with plenty of activities and shows every day and night

Punta Cana, Carretera Arena Gorda 🧭 Map
Great friendly people, food was great, the entertainment was great. Our excursions that they offered (for an extra cost) were out of this world fantastic. Swimming with dolphins taking ATVs all over the country side
I would not consider this an English-friendly resort. Most workers do not know any English, this includes service staff and even security officers. This made ordering, checking in, and generally asking for help difficult
Being able to also use the Iberostar Waves Dominicana (Iberostar's other resort) made this vacation even better. It was nice being able to use their facility as well (pools, bars, restaurants, nightly entertainment, etc
We have a terrace room, and the lounger is one of the best spots to relax with a bit of privacy. The pools and grounds are very well kept
Pools were wonderful but could have been a bit warmer (ocean was actually warmer than the pools). The beach was great for long walks
The grounds are beautiful as well as the beach. They do a wonderful job at keeping the beach clean which is very evident walking on the beach past the Iberostar and seeing how the other resorts keep their beaches

My favorites were people like Rosi, Adonis, Eddy and more! The pool was nice and refreshing and there are many places to wonder around to in the hotel
Amenities in the hotel were excellent. Staff did an amazing job ( specially one guy, Eliecer)
The batting cage was not serviceable and there is a basketball rim, but no where to bounce the ball as it is on grass. I would offer that pilots stay here. This is in a gated area with security
To have a guest come into the property they must have a valid ID. The drinks are served in small cups so you need to have 2 because you'll drink the first one fast
The employees were very friendly and helpful. The grounds are so beautiful, and the pool was sparkling clean. A must is going for a bike ride around the property
It was inconvenient getting service even though it seemed I was the only guest because bar areas were closed, and often hadd to find someone to provide me a drink

Outside the hotel was a litttle underdeveloped and the walk down to the beach was okay but didn’t feel totally safe as a tourist at night. During the day it's fine though
I recommend the restaurant at the property they have brick oven pizza and other good dishes(if you go on the weekend make a reservation) the waiter that take care of us was very knowledgeable of the menu really make me feel at home, after a long day at the beach which is a walkable distance came back to relax by the pool, for my luck he was at the bar good cocktails
Rooms were clean but a bit dated and standard hotel grade couch, beds. Pool was nice, the hotel restaurant was very good but expensive
Nearby public beach is fine, a bit small and crowded on a Thurs evening, but clean enough and nice sand/water
I stay with my son on 2/21/25, the lady at the front desk was very professional (couldn’t get her name unfortunately) she explain everything on the contract, she even came to show me the room, and told me what is around the area
Everything Was good except de freezer of the kitchen.

Real stunning view to the ocean. Nice spacious rooms and a good breakfast included. But not quiet: Noise from the street and noise also from the nightclub. Can’t recommend the 12th floor
Our room had a wonderful sea view, the breakfast was amazing, and the rooftop was beautiful. We honestly didn’t want to leave — we felt so good in this hotel! We will definitely come back again
The pool area is beautiful and relaxing, the breakfast was solid and enjoyable, and there’s even a nightclub inside the hotel
It’s a great space and it just deserves to be busier! What truly stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone was welcoming and professional, but I especially want to thank Laura Vargas
I ended up staying at Hotel Maewald during a really stressful situation. My passport was stolen in Punta Cana and I had to go to Santo Domingo to visit the embassy
We stayed two nights at Mauad Hotel with my family and had the best time. The staff was incredibly kind and gave us such a warm welcome

Calvin was one of the security team staff and he was awesome. They entire staff went out of their way to acknowledge you. I was expecting more lounge chairs on the beach though
So much that we are returning in 2 months. We love that we can walk the beach to our fav little beach spots and there are 2 grocery stores within a 10 minute walk
It does say private beach but there were people from neighbouring apartment/condo buildings using them which I found odd
I would have been upset if there weren’t any free to use because of that but we didn’t run into that this trip but I could see it happening. We are not new to staying in Cabarete but this was our favourite stay so far
We had difficulty with the safe and the tv. He came back to our room immediately to try to remedy the problem. Hopefully they did get the safe fixed for the next guests
The new Janet’s plus is very nice and closer than the original Janet’s. We look forward to our return trip and are sure it won’t be our last at Ultravioleta
