Reviews
By a travel agent that didn't know anything about this resort. But said that she did. That travel agent is a travel connection and the person there Becky wide about everything. Because, without the super vip, you can't do anything. You have to get app at 6 in the morning to be able to get a cot, because there's not enough chairs, and they'll help people to save him, which is sickening. This resort and the entire Viva franchise. Stay away from it'll be the worst time. And the biggest waste of money you've ever spent in your life.
1. Everyone got food poisoning/gastro (group of 13, we all got it). 3/4 groups of people we met during the holiday also did. Apparently they closed the place earlier in the year because of this issue, cleaned it all, left it closed for 2 months, then re-opened. The issue persists. Likely because of the poor igiene.
2. We asked for laundry service. It was promised to us 3 days in a row, saying they’d make it their top priority. Never got our clothes cleaned. Had to clean them in the sink.
3. Our safe stopped working with our passports inside. It took 3 days and us calling or visits the front desk 5 times before they actually sent someone to help. Twice I waited 1.5 hours in the room for security, who never came, despite the multiple calls.
4. The whole place smells of rotten eggs from 6 to 9 am every morning.
5. The beach is covered in trash (in large part because of the awful guests). Cigarette butts in the sand, hair, plastic. Don’t let your kids play in the sand or they’ll find either cigarette butts or hair every 2 minutes.
6. Super loud music everywhere. You come to the tropic to relax, and instead there’s hyper loud bad DJs mixing songs and yelling over the music. You hear the music from most places in the resort.
7. The food is foul. Like, not good. The meat is either undercooked (usually the chicken), or harder than leather. The cheeses are tasteless, pancakes are served frozen, and there is a loooot of food waste and poor food hygiene.
8. The staff is quite rood/unhappy. You often ask things and they ignore you, or look at you in the eyes, turn, and do something else.
9. The beach is nice, but the hundreds of people, the very loud music, and the trash make it hard to enjoy it.
10. It is hard to do the activities. My sister booked for a tennis lesson and the teacher never showed up. Something you book the tennis pitch for an hour but there’s no one to give you the rackets and balls. We tried getting balls for the table soccer and had to go to 4 different desks, everybody sent us elsewhere, and eventually they asked for our passport? I’m in an all inclusive village, why should I carry around my passport to play the games.
Do not recommend
About the location, it’s beautiful, the beach is beautiful!
About the food… my dad got food poisoning the first day! The food is definitely not a good quality, and the food is just sitting all day until someone take it :/
The drinks are with water…
I do not recommend this hotel for sure.
Upon arriving they did not welcome us with a drink or even water.
We honestly preferred spending our money outside and renting our personal umbrellas by the public beach which is also less filled of rocks than the big beach at the viva.
