This was truly the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. Out of all the hotels we’ve stayed at, the customer service here was unmatched.

A huge shout out to Chef Angel for making my birthday so special with an amazing dinner he prepared. It meant so much and made the celebration unforgettable.

We also want to thank Rosario, who treated us with such warmth and kindness. She made us feel like we were with a friend, not just guests.

Thank you to the entire team for such an incredible stay. You truly know the meaning of great customer service, and we will definitely be back! ⭐

We had an amazing time at Excellence resort - they have various activities, amenities & events on site that you can participate in.
However, there are very limited options for vegetarian esp if you think about your protein intake, there is hardly anything. You will be eating a lot of bread & cheese & fruits, nothing healthy enough like a balanced meal. Food was all quite oily in general. I recommend don’t focus on the food, just enjoy the vibe & everything else & you won’t be disappointed. Excellence Punta Cana has some amazing restaurants inside their campus & highly recommend Agave (Mexican cuisine) & The Grill. Our least favourite was Chez Isabel - the French restaurant - extremely gimmicky & absolutely bad quality as far as vegetarian food. Both myself & my hubby got a bad case of food poisoning that night & were not able to enjoy the other activities the next day.
Somethings that are commendable & really stood out:
Cocktails - Excellence has by far the best of the best cocktails & bars! Their drinks are creative & everyone can find something they enjoy. Shoutout to their famous Coco locos! Special mention - Senor Diaz at the Prelude bar for a memorable experience!
Activities - really fun activities at the resort - bag painting, aqua trampoline, aqua bike, ping pong tournament, bingo, karaoke, poker, silent disco & so many more!!!!
Amenities - they have a wide array of amenities - gym, darts, tennis, archery, volleyball (pool & beach), board games for everyone to enjoy based on their preferences.
Staff - the people here are really colourful & truly caring as well. They genuinely want to help you & make your experience as memorable as possible! Special mention to Christina Valdez at the front desk for making our experience top notch! We were celebrating our honeymoon & Christina went above & beyond to make sure we have a great time.

Can't say enough positive things about Excellence El Carmen! From the incredible grounds to the beautiful rooms (we're working outlr way through all room types); from the amazing food and drinks to the absolutely unbelievablely friendly staff (shout-out to follow), Excellence El Carmen DOES NOT disappoint! It has become our home away from home and our go-to resort when looking for an escape. When we think about exploring other resorts, we can't help but get drawn back to El Carmen every time. We've already been back since our first trip, scheduled a third for our anniversary in May, and are looking at a long weekend over Christmas break! We recommend El Carmen to all of our friends and family. Those that have taken the trip confirmed we were right, and see why continue to go back again and again. You cannot go wrong when choosing Excellence El Carmen!

I had an amazing week at Excellence El Carmen, a week that I will hardly forget. Truly. The resort is amazing and the atmosphere is just so relaxed and exclusive, especially if you're part of excellence club. I loved the food, so fresh and well cooked and the variety is so much! Pools are super well maintained and there are so many that you will find the perfect spot for you, either if you like the crowd or if you prefer something more quite and exclusive. Cocktails are simply amazing. The beach as well is clean, you can walk for miles enjoying the sunshine and the warm water and the staff is always there to guarantee you the best service. Generally all the spaces are very curated, both inside and outside, and the Spa and the Fitness area have been above expectations. If I need to find something to be improved I would point out the rooms which are a bit outdated with pillows that are not enough qualitative, the cleaning service which sometimes is a bit too slow and the TV which doesn't allow to connect with your accounts like Netflix. Also the electricity in the room just works when you're in, so if you want to charge a device when you're out you can't. This is weird for a 5 stars hotel. Additionally I would recommend to improve the vigilance at night because sometimes people are drunk and loud at late night.

Another aspect I loved is the private transfer from/to airport. Super professional driver, clean car, wifi and other amenities. Another aspect to imorove is the wifi which is often not that strong in the resort.

My wife and I have traveled to many countries around the world but this was our first all-inclusive resort, aside from a couple of Celebrity Cruises.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful!! The grounds were well kept and we never felt crowded. The rooms are comfy and clean, although a few items are showing their age and could use a little refresh.

The best food options/restaurants, in my opinion, are The Grill, Magna, and the Food Shark food truck. Aroma coffee shop was another spot we visited every day. The staff was very friendly. Some of the other dining options are less than exciting and the food was just ok. In my opinion, I would avoid room service. We tried it twice and we're not thrilled with any of the food we ordered. I expected more for an all-inclusive resort. Check out all the food options and choose wisely.

We just flew home yesterday after staying for 8 days at excellence el Carmen in the two story rooftop terrace honeymoon suite with plunge pool. Wow. We were blown away with our room, the views, the service. We did stay in an excellence club room so we had access to the Magna restaurant and club lounge bar. Both were excellent! We enjoyed the food across almost all of the restaurants but the place we really loved was Basmati, the Indian restaurant! My husband enjoyed the tomahawk steak from magna! The staff is incredibly cheerful and fun and polite. We had a great day every day! The beach is beautiful. The water and waves are strong on this beach so if you’re use to calm pool like water like in the Bahamas, this is quite different. Still swimmable but strong. We would recommend anyone stay here as our personal experience was absolutely amazing!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Excellence Punta Cana. The service was top notch. The resort was beautiful. The staff helped us from the moment we got into the moment we left.

The food was the only thing we didn’t really like. It could be much better, especially since we usually love Dominican food. At some restaurants onsite, it seemed like the staff were tired or overworked at dinner, and they brought the food out later sometimes it wasn’t cold or it wasn’t cooked exactly the way we asked.

We loved that this was an adult only resort, there was always event you could join and at night. It was quiet when we came home so we loved that.

It was my mom’s birthday and they made it really special for her. I was extremely grateful.
