I normally don’t change my reviews but I feel I need to change it to let other travelers know how this resort deals with fraud that takes place on hotel’s grounds. It’s a shame such upscale resort allows it’s cigar boutique to sell counterfeit product. I reported the issue to the management and it felt at first that they were working with me on correcting the issue but at the end nothing was done. Do not buy Cuban cigars at this resort All of those cigars are counterfeit cigars.
For that reason I’m changing it to 1 star.
Everything else described below was a 5 star stay.
It was our 8th time in the Dominican and our first time staying at Meliá resort. A few months ago we stayed at Iberostar Grand and a few months prior to that we stayed at a oceanfront Villa on a private island in Turks and Caicos.
Our stay at 5 starts Iberostar was mediocre; our stay at on a private island was out of this world amazing.
Staying at Grand reserve was very similar to our very exclusive vacation in Turks and Caicos.
From the moment you check In to the moment you checkout you are treated like a member, like a VIP. Anything I requested was given to me at no extra cost and I didn’t have to ask twice.
At check in you are assigned a concierge whom does literally everything for you.
Our concierge Pablo Perez made this stay feel very exclusive. His professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond is something this resort can be very proud of. We are definitely going back to this resort in a few months.
Unethical, fraudulent and Bait & switch practices at Melia resorts. We are not the only people who said this.
All pools are drained at this Reserve Resort and the roof is falling off. THEY HAVE NOT OPENED THIS RESORT.
Take it off all of the booking sites as you are bait and switching peoples hard earned money.
