Reviews
We had an amazing time with the staff and built a great connection with the bar team. They fulfilled every wish we had and shared wonderful moments with us — listening to music together, celebrating, laughing, and simply enjoying the great atmosphere. All of them are incredibly friendly, cooperative, and communicative.
A very special thank you to Luiyi, Jeison, Carmito, Rodolfo, Maria, Alexander, and Alcides, the supervisor at the Guayacan Bar. Their warm and hospitality truly made our experience unforgettable.
We will definitely come back because of these wonderful people. They made us feel like family.
Beach – 5/10
Unfortunately, the beach photos presented in the hotel offer are very misleading. In reality, the beach is very narrow, and the ocean in this area is extremely rough. There is no possibility to observe fish here, unlike in other parts of the island.
Garden – 10/10
The garden is beautiful, very well maintained, and definitely one of the strongest points of the hotel.
Pool – 9/10
The pool is fairly clean and well maintained, so overall it is fine but very NOISY!
Lobby – 4/10
The lobby itself is quite pleasant. You can have a coffee, a drink, or a dessert.
However, a huge downside is that very loud parties take place there every evening. This completely eliminates any chance of relaxation. Even check-in during evening hours is difficult — after a long flight, when you are tired, you literally have to shout over the music together with the receptionist just to communicate.
Overall Service – 9/10
Hotel staff are generally very kind and friendly, but clearly overworked. The same restaurant staff work from early morning until late evening, which inevitably leads to mistakes — for example, assigning the same table to multiple guests or “forgetting” that you asked for water 20 minutes earlier.
This is understandable given the workload, but it is still something the hotel management should address.
Reception / Front Desk Service
Check-in went relatively smoothly, probably only because we arrived late and there was no heavy traffic at the reception.
The hotel advertises late check-out, which turned out to be completely false. On the day of arrival, we were informed that late check-out was of course possible, which was perfect for us since our flight was late in the evening.
A few days before departure, we were told to come on the day of departure to pay for a few extra hours. The day before departure, we were clearly assured that if we came in the morning, there would be no problem arranging a late check-out.
On the day of departure, as agreed, we went to the reception in the morning and were told that late check-out was absolutely impossible because our room had already been reserved for someone else.
We also spoke with the manager, who instead of trying to solve the issue, informed us that they were expecting 120 new guests that day. Frankly, I do not care how many guests they expect if they cannot organize themselves properly and advertise services they are unable to deliver.
Members Club
Guests are aggressively pushed on the very first day to become “members” for several or even tens of thousands of dollars under very unfavorable conditions. This is absurd, especially considering you are still exhausted from travel and jet lag and have virtually no experience with the hotel yet.
They keep you for 2–3 hours presenting their “amazing offer,” which, once calculated, is not cheaper than travel agency offers. Their so-called “additional benefits and service” included in membership are highly questionable, especially given that they cannot even properly organize a simple late check-out.
Final Thoughts
The stay initially looked promising, and while I can accept an average beach or an outdated room, I will never accept a lack of respect and poor organization at the reception.
The arrogant attitude of a very young manager, boasting about how many new guests they have instead of finding a solution or acknowledging their mistake, and making us feel like idiots, completely disqualifies this hotel in our eyes.
We will definitely never return.
A special shoutout to Don Julio at the Guayacan lobby bar. He is truly the best bartender. If you stay here, make sure to stop by for a drink with him. He made our evenings extra special.
Our villa, number 65, was comfortable, though there was a very strong smell in the room during our stay. That is something the hotel could definitely improve.
Regarding the “all inclusive” concept, it is not exactly as expected. Out of the roughly 50 restaurants on the property, you only have access to a few without paying extra. The sauna and spa services are also charged separately, so keep that in mind when planning your budget.
One tip: bring your own insulated cups to use at the pool bars to avoid the plastic cups.
Despite these points, our experience was incredible and we would return again without hesitation.
