This this is only my second time out of the country and my first time in Punta Cana and 1st all inclusive. My experience has been great so far. The room was great tho I wish I would have sprung for the beach view. My view is still great but nothing beats a beach view. The give you a glass of champagne when you arrive. There was a bottle of champagne waiting for me in my room. The staff is friendly and pretty much treat like part of the family. Pretty sure they’ve come by my room at least 3 times a day to clean or stock the mini fridge. I came in August which is not the most optimal time according to the locals but it’s still a blast. This great for my first resort. I’ve only tried 2 restaurants here so far but what I’ve tried at Oregano and The Grill has been decent. Wish I would’ve come with someone but Overall I will be coming back. Might make it a yearly trip.

We were disappointed with our stay at Carmen Punta Cana. While we were drawn by the promises of “ocean view” rooms and the Excellence Club, the reality fell short on several fronts.
Room and view: The room was marketed as ocean view, but the actual view was far from what we expected and felt misleading. The photos and descriptions did not match our experience.
Facilities: Many restaurants were closed during our weekend stay (including Saturday and Sunday), which limited dining options and was inconvenient.
Service: The service did not meet our expectations, with several instances of slow response and less-than-friendly attention. We escalated issues three times, but the problems persisted.
Beach restaurant: This venue was closed during our stay, which reduced the overall value of the resort experience.
Upgraded experience: We paid extra for the Excellence Club, hoping for enhanced service and amenities, but did not receive the level of attention or quality we were promised.
Beverage quality: Some drinks were below our expectations for a property of this caliber.
Positive note: The manager did reach out and apologized, but indicated they could not resolve some issues beyond the initial scope of the stay, which was frustrating.

My recent visit to Excellence El Carmen was absolutely phenomenal, exceeding all expectations! From the moment I arrived, it was clear that everything here is top-notch. The resort truly lives up to its name, providing an experience of pure luxury and relaxation.
What really made my trip special, beyond the stunning facilities and beautiful grounds, was the incredible service. In particular, I have to give a huge shout-out to Victor at the Blue Bar. He is, without a doubt, my favorite bartender! Victor's skill, friendly demeanor, and ability to craft the perfect drink truly enhanced my evenings. His excellent service and warm personality made every visit to the Blue Bar a highlight.
Excellence El Carmen offers a truly exceptional experience, and I can't recommend it highly enough. If you're looking for a luxurious getaway with outstanding service and incredible staff like Victor, this is the place to be!

We had an incredible stay at Excellence El Carmen! The resort itself is beautiful, but what really made our trip special was the staff. Carlos, the activity director, went above and beyond to make every event fun and engaging – his energy and hospitality were unmatched. Several of the restaurant staff were also fantastic especially Jorge, making our dining experiences truly enjoyable. Their warm service and attention to detail made us feel welcomed every day. We can’t wait to return for another unforgettable experience!

The staff was truly amazing! Everyone we interacted with was incredibly hospitable, friendly, and accommodating.
The food wasn’t perfect but damn near close. Some of the meats in the dishes (steak, chicken, calamari) were either slightly over cooked or undercooked. However, the flavors from the sauces and spices made it not matter so much. Everything we ate was very tasty. I liked the skirt steak at The Grill. My wife and I both enjoyed Oregano (the Italian restaurant).
Our room was beautiful with a gorgeous view and plenty of amenities (jacuzzi, plunge pool, etc). However, from a closer look, some of the architecture had small holes. On our last night, we had a bug infestation (from some of the holes) that caused us to move to a new suite. The front desk was quick to offer the new room, which was much cleaner and had no signs of holes in which bugs can get in and out of. Speaking with other guests, it seems like this was not a common occurrence and other couples didn’t have bug issues like we did.
