Reviews
The location is convenient, 25 minutes from airport, plenty of shops nearby BUT it is noisy! Get some earplugs.
Also was surprised the hotel had not arrangements of any kind with local tour providers. I suggest they should look into this.
The only disappointing things was that had no irons/ iron board in the room. They won't even provide one. I just needed a 30 seconds iron to freshen up a shirt that got wrinkles during travel, bit I had to call laundry, shell out 40 EGP and wait to get something this simple taken care of.
Overall a decent, value stay.
Paid reservation but hotel refused check-in due to no available rooms
I had a fully paid and confirmed reservation through Agoda.
When I arrived at the hotel late at night, the reception informed me that there were no rooms available and refused to check me in.
No prior notice, no email, no phone call — despite my booking being confirmed and paid in advance.
This situation caused serious inconvenience and stress, especially arriving at night with luggage and having to search for another hotel at my own expense.
This is clearly a case of overbooking and poor management.
A confirmed reservation should always be honored.
I do not recommend this hotel, as they cannot be trusted to respect confirmed bookings.
I recently had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with a hotel booking made through a booking application. The reservation was offered via a third-party provider.
My family and I arrived at the hotel at 8:00 PM, expecting to check in smoothly after a long day of travel. To our shock, the hotel staff claimed that no booking appeared in their system. The receptionist then connected me via phone to a booking manager, who offered to relocate us to another hotel called Jewel Al Nasr. At that moment, it became clear to me that the hotel had indeed received the booking but was deliberately refusing to honor it.
I insisted on meeting the manager responsible for the hotel directly. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the hotel’s management attempted to offer me a room only if I agreed to pay additional charges. This was unacceptable, as I had already secured and paid for my reservation in advance.
The entire situation left my family stranded late in the evening, stressed and inconvenienced. It was evident that the hotel was unwilling to accommodate us despite having my confirmed booking.
Following this ordeal, I contacted Booking.com Customer Service for assistance. Unfortunately, their response was equally disappointing. Rather than taking immediate action to resolve the matter, they simply forwarded emails to the third-party provider and did not provide any real support or solutions.
This experience was not only unprofessional but also deeply upsetting. I will never book at this hotel again, and I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of accountability shown by both the hotel and Booking.com.
Thanks, Booking.
Thanks, Rehana Plaza Hotel
I wish I could give it 0 stars.
This hotel operates in a deceptive and unfair manner.
Rehana Plaza Hotel is split into two very different sections: Classic and Standard. The Classic rooms are clearly better and match the photos shown online. The Standard rooms are in old buildings with worn carpets and outdated interiors and look nothing like what is advertised.
Guests who book through Booking.com are given Classic rooms. Guests who book through agencies are automatically downgraded to the old Standard building, even if the online booking shows the Classic accommodation.
Despite our booking reflecting the Classic room, we were placed in the Standard building. Staff admitted Classic rooms are better but claimed none were available for 1–2 days, even though availability was confirmed when we booked.
Management then tried to charge $15 per night extra, later reducing it to $5 per night, on top of what we already paid. The explanations kept changing and contradicted each other.
Two relatives with us were allowed to stay in the Classic rooms for free after making excuses, while others were pressured to pay. When we pointed this out, the manager said she could call them and force them to pay — despite already letting them stay for free. This shows arbitrary decision-making and intimidation.
The room and facilities were poor:
Dirty bedsheets
Old carpets
Exposed boiler and plumbing
Only one toilet paper roll
Weak Wi-Fi that constantly disconnects
Security and organisation were also lacking:
Basic key locks
No wristbands
Security asking for room numbers in lifts
Poorly managed swimming pool
The environment was unpleasant, with loud music every day, smoking in reception, and no enforcement of basic standards.
Overall, this stay felt misleading and exploitative. I would strongly advise others to avoid this hotel.
