16eur - Fat Margaret's in Tallinn

It was very disappointing to come here after the amazing hostels in Finland. And it wasn't much cheaper!
Showers in basement 3 floors down. Only 5 showers for females and 5 for males when there's 30+ rooms. Showers had cobwebs and clumps of hair, shower flooded. Only good thing was the water pressure.
Dorm smelt of a school gym changing room, had to make own bed which was difficult on top bunk with bed swaying. Floor dirty, never cleaned during my whole stay; same dust balls, pieces of food etc in same places.
Mattress disgusting, old, stained, pilled, had to use duvet to pad it out under bottom sheet.
Sheets old, thin and with holes
Door hinge noisy.
Sauna was apparently cold. A guest in my dorm told me he'd tried it but it was out of order during my 4 night stay.
Hardly any plug sockets in room and hard to access if not by your bed
Bedlamp didn't work.
No shelf or storage area for top bunks so had to risk stuff falling off e.g. glasses or phone as nowhere to store them.
Location alright but major roadworks happening and it's very noisy. All shops or restaurants or cafes are 10+min walk away. Nearest supermarket is expensive and rubbish for choice. I wouldn't recommend cooking though as there are too many guests for the amenities available.
Staff didn't explain anything - had to ask dorm mate where bedsheets were.
Renovations ongoing inside - smell of paint and decorators blocking access to room with ladder and equipment. They did move the stuff but it was annoying for both them and me. And there was no information from staff about the renovations.
Huge place but no signs or directions.
Smell like raw sewage from showers.
Sauna out of order.
No recycling. Small bin in dorm room was overflowing every day.
Basement dark and dingy, kitchen not large enough for everyone, fridges overcrowded.
Overall would not recommend and this soured my visit to Tallinn.
