Reviews
The hotel is a little far from the station and has many slopes, and the elevator was just barely big enough to fit two suitcases and one person, which can be a bit inconvenient for travelers.
There was a balcony and the exterior was cute.
The next day, the morning receptionist was a younger guy who was very friendly and helpful – no problems at all. But in the evening, the same older man from the night before was back. My sister and I went out for a short walk, while the other three stayed in the room. When we returned about 15 minutes later, the hotel door was locked, and there was no one at reception. We knocked, waited, nothing. I had to call my mom in the room to tell her we couldn’t get in. About five minutes later, the man finally came down the stairs and unlocked the door for us.
When I got back to the room, my mom told me that during this time, the man had actually gone upstairs to their room, saying the door wasn’t fully closed. You had to push the door hard to close it properly, and apparently, I hadn’t pushed hard enough when leaving, so it stayed slightly open. But here’s the thing – how could he have possibly known this from downstairs at reception? And honestly, why was it even his business? To me, this seemed like just an excuse to go upstairs and snoop around our rooms. I truly believe he didn’t expect anyone to be inside.
Overall – creepy, unprofessional, and extremely uncomfortable. I have never experienced anything like this before, and I would never, ever stay here again.
I’m shocked and deeply disappointed by how this hotel treated me as a returning guest. I accidentally booked a 4-night stay for August when I had meant to reserve for September. As soon as I noticed the mistake, I contacted the hotel directly and also asked my travel agent from Expedia to speak with them on my behalf.
All I requested was to move my reservation one month ahead or, at the very least, offer me a partial credit or discount — even paying for 2 nights out of 4 would have been understandable. But instead of any empathy or flexibility, I was met with rude and unprofessional behavior from the hotel staff over the phone. One of them actually told me they didn’t care about a bad reputation, and that since they had no guests in August, they “needed money now.”
So now my fully paid room — nearly $800 — is sitting empty, and they seem to think I’ll ever return? The only reason I booked again was because I had stayed here 5 years ago and enjoyed it. But this recent experience showed me that this place is run by people who clearly care more about squeezing money out of customers than creating a loyal, happy guest experience.
This hotel has made it very clear: profit comes before people. If that’s the kind of place you want to support, go ahead. But I certainly won’t be back.
The good: Location was very walkable to all attractions. Reverse cycle worked great. Spacious room. Very large room for price and Paris.
The bad: next to a bar and we were on the ground floor (next to toilets) which meant noisy nights. Shower in our room did not have proper seal on the floor= water leaks with each shower. Not a lot of cupboard space despite large room. Receptionist was not very friendly (but i work in customer service) and not available 24/7.
Definately more a 2 star hotel. Only visit if you want a basic and cheap stay. Note: would never recommend to friends that i like.
Can't say anything about it today, but if I were to travel to Paris again, it would be my first choice.
Seems a little more expensive than back then, but nothing too crazy, especially considering the location.
