Fraud Alert – Hotel Paris Nord

I stayed at Hotel Paris Nord for five nights.

• Room: The room itself was okay — nothing special, but functional.

• Location: The location is convenient, close to transport and central Paris.

Unfortunately, our stay was ruined by a serious incident:

• On the morning before departure, we discovered that a diamond ring (an anniversary gift to my wife) and cash from a purse inside a bag had been stolen directly from our room.

• The theft happened while our belongings were inside the luggage, not left out in the open.

• Shockingly, when we reported this to reception, the staff initially refused to call the police and instead tried to blame us for leaving valuables in the room — despite another receptionist at check‑in having specifically advised us not to carry valuables outside due to pickpockets.

Eventually, after pressure, the receptionist reluctantly called the police, and we filed a complaint at the station.

• The hotel took no responsibility, offered no apology or consolation, and showed complete disregard for the fact that our long‑planned anniversary trip was ruined.

• To make matters worse, another couple on our floor also reported a theft at the same time, suggesting this is not an isolated incident.

🚨 Bottom Line

While the location is good and the rooms are acceptable, Hotel Paris Nord is unsafe and management is untrustworthy. Valuables were stolen from inside our room, and the hotel staff failed to act responsibly.

I strongly advise against staying here.

Our experience at this hotel was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The bald head reception staff were very rude and asked a number of unnecessary questions during check-in, which made the process slow and frustrating. Throughout our stay, no one came to clean the room, and basic necessities like waste bin bags were missing. For the price and expectations, the level of service was far below acceptable. Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here.

You get what you pay for. It works for a night in a pinch. I read the reviews and did not leave valuables in my room. It did not seem that they looked through our stuff as we took photos of the position of the zips on our bags etc: so we cannot speak to the truth of the room theft allegations.

Does the trick, wouldn’t stay here for more than a night unless absolutely necessary.

We paid for three rooms as we family of six. None of the room has bed to suit two people in a room.This is no Air condition, very small fan that doesn’t rotate, rooms are cleaned for only two days prior to out checked out. We spend five days, dry bread for breakfast, my children refused to eat their dried bread. Environment are very noisy. Generally, not satisfied with hotel, will not recommend. Only ok for just sleep in and go out during the day.

Paid $500 for three nights and honestly looked nothing like the pictures. No AC in the hot Parisian summer and the bathroom had no ventilation at all being in there to brush your teeth felt like you were in a sauna. Also quite moldy, looks and smell wise.

Dirty towels. Folded terribly as well. When we came in and took a look at the towels it looked unsanitary and had hair on it, we asked the front desk if they had extra towels and they did not. The pillow cases smelled like old men as well. And when they cleaned the room in the middle of the day they did not replace the sheets or blankets. Just dirty.

One of the people I was with told me that one of the old men on the front desk showed her to the room and in the elevator he touched her face. Which was quite odd and uncomfortable. Do not book here.

Close to city centre, friendly stuff, but I can't forgive mold in a shower.
