Hôtel du Jardin des Plantes in Paris

Much better than I expected. There's a bus stop right outside, and I could even take a morning stroll in the botanical garden, which was lovely.

Good enough. Centrally located and close to the metro and a nice park. Quiet.

The hotel reception was very welcoming. The room was not very big but the location was very convenient. It was a three-minute walk to the subway station, saving a lot of time and transportation costs.

Overall great! Small rooms but an excellent place to cool down and get a good night's sleep.

Had an odd first impression during my stay - the guy at the desk was very distracted by a video call when I checked in, and he got my name wrong even though I handed him my ID with my name obviously printed on it. He checked me into the wrong room! It had someone else's neatly organized clothes on the shelves. Thankfully no one was in there at the time! He did not believe me at first and argued it was definitely my room but maybe had not been cleaned, then he re-checked my name on his list, and we were good to go. I was so relieved that my actual room was still available, and it had been cleaned.

Apart from that, this was a great place to stay. As others mentioned, the rooms are small. Not like hotel small, like cruise ship small. However, the room was clean and was kept very clean during my week-long stay, the bed was comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, the WiFi worked well even for streaming TV shows on my laptop, and the AC was AMAZING. I was in the area for a conference, and talking to other travelers, I learned that even some modern hotels with AC did not cool down the rooms very much. However, at this hotel, you can crank that AC and get true relief from the Paris heat. Excellent blackout curtains too.

There is a breakfast area downstairs, which I did not get to try, but there's also a little terrace with chairs on the top floor, which I very much enjoyed. The views of the botanical garden are lovely.

To counterbalance the weird first impression, I accidentally booked my stay one night short, and the woman who was working the desk at that time was incredibly kind and helpful and somehow rearranged things so I could stay one extra day. Actually, apart from that first guy, everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and I felt at ease and comfortable here. I don't speak even passable French, and that was no problem for the staff.

Accessibility: The stairs were a spiral staircase, and the elevator can only fit two adults who like each other very much (it was a tight squeeze for myself and two rolling suitcases). I thought it might be difficult for travelers who needed to corral small children or for travelers who have, or are assisting someone with, any mobility issue.

The neighborhood is obviously fantastic. Apart from everything you're probably looking at for touristy things to do, I loved being a five minute or less walk from a laundromat, a pharmacy, a metro station, a good patisserie, and I really liked the restaurant right across the street too. The Grand Mosque nearby does a great ladies-only sauna that's fairly cheap! Easy walk to Sorbonne University too.

I think most hotels in this area have tiny rooms, so I can't really count that as a negative. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

The location is great, a 5-6 minute walk from the metro interchange and very close to Notre Dame Cathedral. The room was small and the elevator was quite crowded, but the air conditioning was excellent, providing an instant cool breeze in the summer. The only downside was the bathroom drain; it didn't backflow, but I had to use a low flow to shower, otherwise it would flood.

I stayed here for just under a week with a friend. Was skeptical when booking as there seems to be a lot of mixed reviews but we were both genuinely pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We stayed in one of the twin rooms and the beds were super comfy. The only thing I would note is that the two twin beds are placed right together in the space where a double would usually be. This was totally fine for us and caused no issue, but worth considering if you're staying with someone you're not comfortable being that close to!! The bathroom and shower was also clean and had everything we needed there too. There's great air con- it stays on all day so you can come back to a nice, cool room if you're tourists like us and not built for the Paris summer heat! Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't choose to pay for it, but there are lots of great cafés, bakeries, shops and restaurants nearby, so you'll always be sorted! The location is perfect, there's a metro station (Jussieu) right nearby which takes you to pretty much all the main tourist sights and also plenty of other niche places we chose to visit! The Notre Dame is about a 15 min walk away so perfect for an evening walk in the sunset.
If you're on a budget and looking for a good value hotel that you can actually come back and relax in then I strongly recommend!! :)

First time visiting Paris and decided to choose this hotel in France. Sizes is not big but the location is very good. Just a slow 5 minutes walk from Metro station to the hotel. If you are on a budget, you may consider choosing this hotel. Attached some photos for your perusal.
