Folk Boutique Hotel in Tbilisi

We booked one of two rooms that had a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was dirty and couldn't be used. They moved us to another room at midnight, no assistance. The wifi did not reach our room and we needed to work, so we had to work from the restaurant downstairs during night hours. The breakfast was underwhelming. The service in the restaurant was not great. I checked in a few hours early and was charged for a half day even though the other room that was like ours was empty. I complained to ******* and ******* did not help.

We travel in a group of 11 plus a guide. We booked 6 rooms and our guide book one room. At first we couldn’t book online we have to contact the hotel directly and we booked through them. It is the most unpleasant experience I’ve had at the hotel.

1. The elevator is btwn floor. So I have to drag my heavy luggage down the stairs to get to the elevator. And once we got out of the elevator we have to drag the heavy luggage down half a flight of stairs to get to the room. Either it was thoughtless design or they bought old building and renovate it into a hotel.

2. I couldn’t open the room door with my keycard and had to go to back to the reception 3-4 times to get my key reset. In non of that visit dis the receptionist show the initiative to come up and check it with me.

3. Once I enter my room I found out that the wifi has no internet. I could connect to the local network but the network is not connected to the internet. I called the reception and the same receptionist say that it works saying she’s using it as if she doesn’t believe me. I had to walk down again to show her that my devices could not connect to the internet. Once I walk down my devices start to ping. So I realized that the wifi is not working in my room. I went back to the receptionist to show her the screenshot on my device and she said she’ll send a technician up. Half an hour later no one came up and there’s no update I had to go down AGAIN to the reception and now the technician is back. He came to fix the local wifi spot and it finally works.

(The next day my guide who was trying to get a room and waited at the reception as I wait up and down told me that the receptionist said behind my back “the internet doesn’t work, what can I do?”)

4. After all these I was offered no apology. I asked for a room upgrade and they say the room is fully booked. I found out the next morning from my guide that he booked another room later (he was with the receptionist as I went up and down) that he booked another room. So they basically LIED that they couldn’t moved me.

5. The door has no extra door latch for secondary security. So it can be opened from the outside with a master keycard. I don’t know if this is a standard in this part of the world. But I would move to another hotel as a woman traveling alone.

6. The shower doesn’t stay warm. The water runs hot and cold back and forth as if the cheap out on the shower head and it couldn’t control the temperature properly.

7. Theres four pillow in the room total. All of them were very high. I had to sleep without the pillow last night.
