I don’t recommend this Hotel.

Don’t come here. We booked two double rooms for a single night. Hotel in general is old and run down, which would be acceptable if it was clean. However, the smell of cigarette smoke was heavy on multiple floors, only partially masked by the nauseating perfume smell. We had to keep the windows open all night, both for the smell and the heat on a fairly mild evening. The bedding and most of the floors were clean. No mattress protection between the sheet and the blood-stained, yellowed mattress. Corners of the room had piles of dust and at least one spider web (including a live spider, who may have been keeping our room clear of any more destructive bugs 🤞) I did not turn on the small fan, as I did not quite trust the dusty bundle of electric cables that it connected to. The bathrooms were in very poor condition, with plenty of black mold. There was hair from previous occupants, and I don’t think anyone has ever cleaned behind the bathroom door or in the shower with the sliding doors closed (or whatever you would call that state, the doors were only loosely connected with the sliding rails).

Shower worked in one room, not in the other.

Breakfast was ok, although the cut fruit looked like it had been out for a while.

The lady in the reception was nice.

The hotel is overall good for the price, even if furniture and the bathroom are "a little bit" aged. It's also quite close to the center, so if you need a place to stay in Karlsruhe for one night, without reserving long in advance, this might be where to go. I arrived around 8PM in Karsruhe, looked up "hotels nearby" on Google Maps and got a room without too much hassle. For the parking, I found the parking lot "Schlossplatz" a good choice.

Nope! Not worth it. Find somewhere else. Bathroom had thick moist cakes of black mold in the shower. Toilet was a yellow stalagmite of limescale. A wet and discolored piece of mystery toilet paper was hiding in the corner behind the bathroom door. So obviously no one had even looked there. Perhaps to avoid breaking eye contact with the mold thing in the shower. There was still hair strewn around from the last unlucky soul to use the hair dryer. Shower head had 4 needle sharp streams, with the rest of the holes clogged by something I was not equipped to identify. Room floor was cleaned recently but every corner had a little pile of dirt. Room and hallway smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Only slightly hidden by a strong and sickly sweet perfume. Bed linen was — thankfully — new, white and clean. But no mattress protector, so only a thin sheet between me and the two blood stains on the maybe 20 year old yellowed mattress beneath. You better believe I checked for bed bugs. Found none, but I see others were not so lucky. Arrived for breakfast at 7 am, but the fruit salad and soft cheese cuts were already oxidized and dried. Probably not the first time they had been served. The lady at the reception was nice and friendly, though.

Avoid this hotel at ALL costs. I booked two rooms for five people — one triple and one double. However, upon arrival, one of the rooms (Room 43) had an absolutely unbearable smell, like something had died in there. It was disgusting.

We immediately reported it to the receptionist, who offered to move us to another room — but it was only a single. So, instead of the triple and double rooms I paid for, we ended up squeezing five people into a double and a single. This is completely unacceptable.

Worse still, in the single room, there were exposed electrical cables (I’ve attached a picture). My 2-year-old child touched them and almost got an electric shock. This is not just a matter of comfort — this is a serious safety hazard.

The entire hotel smells bad, is not clean, and looks absolutely nothing like the photos online. Those must have been taken 20 years ago when the place was new. Now, it’s old, run-down, and dirty.

We weren’t the only ones complaining — we saw several other guests going to reception to sort out various issues. Clearly, this is not an isolated incident.

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone — especially families with children. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

Good location, close to all shops, but the rooms were in very poor condition.
We arrived in 35 °C heat, with no air conditioning in the room, bed covers and bath towels smelling of mildew, a dirty shower with a showerhead leaking water everywhere. I had to leave the window open at night because it was impossible to sleep in the heat, and I got bitten all over by mosquitos. There was also fairly loud music.
Unpleasant experience, too bad, because the decor was very kitschy.

The hotel is very comfortable and clean, and the reception staff are very friendly. I can definitely recommend it

It's a little far from the station. There was a table next to the bed so it was easy to put your luggage. I didn't use it, but there was a clothes warmer. The floor was wobbly and dented, so I'm worried about safety in the future.

Stairs squeak. At night I couldn't move quietly in bed because the bed squeak was so terrible and unbearably loud. Speaking of the bed; I had paid extra for a big bed and I got a small bed. Not the toilet was pleasant, because who wants to see the previous person's urine in the toilet???????
Hands off, hands off, hands off.
