In Overall it was good. However, you need to be early to get all options during breakfast and the presentation was not the best.

In the evening the same area was a restaurant with very good food. The bar in the same area is open in the evenings and are a nice place to recap what you have seen during the day

It is a very, very quiet place as there is no vehicular traffic anywhere near. Occasionally there are sounds of people having fun and laughing outside, which is a really pleasant sound

A lovely place to stay! We loved the back story of the white stag. The staff was professional and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. Parking is behind and under the hotel.

Large and delicious breakfast buffet. Unfortunately no restaurant anymore. The room with balcony had a wonderful view. On three days, students had their jumping training, which was exciting to watch

We stayed at this nice hotel for the second time and were very satisfied again. Very friendly welcome, great breakfast and a lovely quiet location. We'd love to come back 👍

The breakfast was plentiful, fresh and very tasty. However, I recommend arriving by car as the bus connection is very poor

A short review of our short trip ☺️ We can only recommend the Schanzenhaus in Wernigerode, it was very clean, charming rooms and a fantastic location not far from the promenade. We'd love to come back 🤗

Nice clean and modern hotel in an old building so no lift. Conveniently located for the town and rail station (10 min walk) A good breakfast buffet.

This hotel is very central, a mere 10 minute walk to the Harz Schmalspurbah /DB railway station. There is secure parking 100m away which is charged. Rooms are clean and comfortable

Room clean, spacious, NO tea/coffee facilities, NO aircon, NO charging points, NO main room light just 3 lamps. Staff very friendly, but hard to communicate with, they don't really understand English fully

Breakfast is a typical small hotel breakfast. Good thing is that you can use your invoice as a ticket in Wernigerode buses. I would definitely stay there again. And they also have a sauna in the hotel but I didn't try it

Nice place in historical building. Provides great view on castle which is on top of the hill. Historical centre is in 5min by walk. Friendly staff. Finnish/Turkish sauna included in the room price.

Great sauna and nice staff. The apartments are comfortable and spacious but some of the furniture is a bit shabby which feels strange. Breakfast was ok, not exactly great but that might be due to the times. (COVID)

Charming building right below the castle, at the entrance of the Old Town. Only remark would be that the rooms in the 'new' aisle are a little bit small if you have luggages

Rooms a bit old but adequate for the price. The check in closed at ten when we visited so call ahead if you're running late

Otherwise, for a weekend in Wernigerode, I highly recomment the Hotel Fürstenhof!

Parking was a bonus free, unlike in Berlin today. The place to stay if you just want to travel to the top of the Brocken mountain. Also speak good english as the morni g person comes from U K originally

a great hotel only down side is noise of local fire station but has good restaurant and is less than 10 mins walk from hsb and local station and 8-10 min walk from town centre and I good room viewing the hsb railway I will be back soon thank you to all at hotel altora mr earl

The dining experience is excellent. The little train that brings drinks and dessert is such a quirky feature you'll not be able to take you're eyes off it.

A restaurant review: Classic German food. A bit uninspired and just medium quality. The restaurant has a good view on the historic steam train

I have just spent 3 night and found the location perfect. My interest are the steam trains there. The only thing missing is tea and coffee making facilities? But you can obtsin this from reception

The room where we stayed is a bit small, but comfortable with air conditioning. Price is inexpensive with free parking. The hotel location is excellent: both Wernigerode Castle and the old town are quite close

Having breakfast with a view overlooking the town of Werningrode, was just simply the best way to start my day. My room was simple, but it was cozy and warm and had everything we needed

One of my highlights of my trip to Wernigerode, very pleasant service and an amazing breakfast. Hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the station, uphill, so just a warning if you have lots of luggage

It looks like a magical palace from the outside in winter covered in snow. The interior has fantastic decor, especially in the breakfast area, where you feel like you traveled back in time

The host was very friendly and explained to us how to navigate around the area. Additionally, we got 2 transportation tickets to use it in all the Harz region for free

The Brocken train ride is the headline attraction. It is very pricey, but worth it. Recommend a good walk from Schierke to where the Berlin Wall was

Excellent food and service and extremely enjoyable atmosphere and staff! My tip is Carpaccio octopus and homemade Tiramisu. By the way, as a starter, have a Hasseröder beer!

Great price for the room, with a great buffet breakfast included. They didn't require a credit card to reserve a room, were incredibly friendly and prepared our breakfast table with a baby seat without us having to ask.

This was our second time at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The owner took time for us and made a recommendation for specially offered dishes. We take advantage of this offer and were pleasantly surprised

Nice camping place next to the Hotel with access to all facilities and restaurant. Good place to start a visit to Wernigerode and its surroundings

We had a choice of campsite and plenty of space (end August) and were able to wash and dry our laundry (€8 a bit much when compared with other campsites)

The washrooms were a bit limited, with cooking, washing up, laundry, and chemical loo emptying all in the area of the women's toilets

Friendly reception even though we turned up without a reservation and the staff were busy with a wedding at the time

On the -1 floor of the hotel there is a swimming pool with hydromassage, sauna, stone legatski. What we need after a good walk in the mountains. All free, about saunas charge per hour

Breakfast was good and served in a pleasant room, recommend taking. In the area in the morning will only work coffee in other hotels

A pearl in Harzen Very nice hotel in placed 5 min from town center. The view to the castle is magnificent and the hotel is superb. Very nice staff and a fine pool area. If we come this way again we are sure to check in

Great hotel in an old mansion with modern appliances. We had a spacious room with a balcony and views of the castle. The bathroom is made of expensive tiles, plumbing is not cheap

Gets a bit loud since it's situated next to a fairly busy road but it's not a big deal. We rented the family room with kitchenette and it was nice and spacious
