Hotels in Wernigerode

Wonderful park, very nice set up just as on the pictures! We stayed in the area close to the woods which is the prettiest part but the other part is nice as well, just a bit further walk from everything. The facilities are splendid: great indoor swimming pool, nice indoor playground with crafts every day around 10, fab bowling area with blacklight and music, little shop with mainly souvenirs, swimwear...

Cosy hotel for families with young children! Free cultural events in high season at the Kleinkunstbühne with pub. Highly recommended as the whole landscape is cultural somehow "dead". Empty streets in the evening in WR, GS, Bad Harzburg, Halberstadt etc.

Like many places in the area, it seems understaffed. But the staff is friendly and accommodating....2 years later...We stayed a week in the village. It's over priced and under staffed! The units are great, but for the price that we paid, it was disappointing. It's like an over priced Hostel. We paid extra for linen and the only things inside were 2 dishwasher tabs and 3 rolls of toilet paper. Not even...

Nice spot of nature if you’re nature lover and would like to run away from stress. The staffs gave me the feeling that they love their job and love to serve you. We have the Honeymoon room and I love it! It‘s worth for that money. 4 stars instead of 5 are just to give them a hint, next times at Christmas Buffet, just notice guests if they book the Christmas package that it wouldn’t be Christmas food...

Great place to stay in wernigerode. Rooms are more than awesome, staffs are very supportive and sweet. I just loved it.

Really clean ja nice hotel. Friendly staff but doesn't speak very good english. Family room have a lot of space.

A nice hotel in a very nice old city. Directly located in the middle of the old city. Parking was easy on the location. The hotel has an old part and a newer part, and we had a room in the newer part. The room was large, clean and had a not so good view over the parking space and not over the city. The room had room bar and wifi. Breakfast was good and with all options you wanted in the morning. In...

Clean and tidy room. Hotel in a middle age style town. Helpful staff. €13 for car park in hotel. Nice restaurant in town. Breakfast was served with various food. I had dinner here too. Decent service and food.

Plus--convenient, great staff, nice rooms. Minus--minisplit A/C not working well--room was quite warm.

A lovely place to stay! We loved the back story of the white stag. The staff was professional and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. Parking is behind and under the hotel.

Superb location right in the middle of town. A historically significant building that is well-maintained. The staff are excellent. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. It is a very, very quiet place as there is no vehicular traffic anywhere near. Occasionally there are sounds of people having fun and laughing outside, which is a really pleasant sound. There is much to see and do within easy reach

It was warm, cosy room. They put a bed story next to your bed. That was cute. The story relates to the name of the hotel. Wonderful!!! It is next to the central city Christmas market!!! You can feel the Christmas in the air!!! It is 15 minutes from station, easy to find. Delicious breakfast. Everyone was so friendly!

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. The rooms are lovingly designed, the bathrooms are modern and easily accessible. The balconies are well maintained and have a perfect view of the castle. The breakfast was plentiful, fresh and very tasty. However, I recommend arriving by car as the bus connection is very poor.

Large and delicious breakfast buffet. Very nice service. Unfortunately no restaurant anymore. The room with balcony had a wonderful view. On three days, students had their jumping training, which was exciting to watch. Unfortunately, the WiFi on the third floor left a lot to be desired. All in all, a relaxing vacation.

We stayed at this nice hotel for the second time and were very satisfied again. Very friendly welcome, great breakfast and a lovely quiet location. We'd love to come back 👍

Room was OK but the bathroom was disappointing, especially the rusty heater where the clean towels hang. Breakfast is also OK.

A short review of our short trip ☺️ We can only recommend the Schanzenhaus in Wernigerode, it was very clean, charming rooms and a fantastic location not far from the promenade. We'd love to come back 🤗

A perfect hotel for us, easy check in, everyone spoke English which helped. The breakfast was amazing and very wonderful.

We didn't stay at the hotel, and only had dinner here one evening. Ordered the Brockenschnitzel and the Harzer Wildgulasch, both were actually very nice but we waited well over an hour for it to arrive! We're generally pretty patient and understanding when places are busy, but this seemed excessive, in fact our food arrived so late we couldn't even order a desert because the kitchen had closed once...

Incredible room, cozy and clean. It had everything we needed and the restaurant with Biergarten was excellent. Located close enough to the train station and old town for exploring. Price was right for room and it exceeded our expectations.

Nice little hotel with a good breakfast and friendly restaurant staff. Well-situated, walkable from the station and the town centre. Ground-floor rooms are a bit pokey since the front door is the only window. And "balcony" means a table in a shared courtyard - no privacy and the restaurant terrace is noisy. Receptionist is a minimalist with better things to do.

Great location, so quite at night, Walk to the station or all through the old town.

This hotel is very central, a mere 10 minute walk to the Harz Schmalspurbah /DB railway station. There is secure parking 100m away which is charged. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is excellent with wide and varied choice. Certainly worth considering when staying in Wernigerode and I’d definitely return.

Peace and quiet A magnificent hotel in beautiful surroundings. Peace and quiet and a beautiful garden to relax in.

wonderful hotel in a nice medieval town

💯 recommend. really nice accommodation with a nice view of the surrounding area. the staff are friendly, kind, and helpful. the food is delicious. and they're located near the marketplace which is a plus. 🫶

Highly recommended beautiful hotel We enjoyed one night stay at this fantastic hotel looking like a small castle. The lobby and the dining room are particularly beautiful. Breakfast is really good. The room where we stayed is a bit small, but comfortable with air conditioning. Price is inexpensive with free parking. The hotel location is excellent: both Wernigerode Castle and the old town are quite...

We are extremely happy to have stayed here. We had an amazing stay from the moment we got here, the hostess is super friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great with so many options. Short walk from the old town and you can also walk to the castle. We were also very excited to hear about the hotels history! Thank you for our amazing stay!

I really liked the hotel and the location. Just one point which I didnt like was the breakfast spread. It was fancy undoubtedly but the quantity and the variety was not sufficient especially for the tourists from different nationalities. I understand its a very small town and not many things are available but atleast the basic breakfast should have been better. Rest was all good.

Nice clean and comfortable room. Unfortunately the staff hadn't left a key to the room in the keybox outside when we arrived, so what was meant to be an easy self-service check-in was a lot of hassle. We had to ring and get a code for the box and then waited 2 hours for somebody to drive to the hotel with the key. Also had to ring 3 times to find out what was happening and the staff on the helpline...

As mentioned found the key pincode entry a bit strange ,however, the room although small was reasonably well equipped and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Hotel is only ten minutes walk from the town centre and if you are wanting a reasonably priced place to stay in a very quiet area of the town and with a good breakfast with ample parking this is a very good place to chose

Absolutely amaizing place. Especially if you are lucky to get apartment Nr.1. Parking without problems, rooms looks nice and fresh. Breakfast served in apartment or at the terrace its amaizing. Thx for such a service. Definitely will come again.

Charming hotel in a quiet part of the town. The hotel is conveniently located for the main station, mountain railway and the town. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was clean, even if the bed and floor creaked. Breakfast was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful toen.

Das Frühstück und die Lage waren super. Man war direkt in der Altstadt und hatte viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe.

small hotel with winding layout, large room with no table, electric sun shades, basic breakfast buffet

Top Service, Top Personal, Top Zimmer!!!

We stayed at the Kräuterhof for one night during a multi-day hiking trip and loved it! We had overall good experiences during the trip, especially regarding friendliness and supportiveness, but the Kräuterhof was exceptional in terms of comfort of the rooms, the dinner options in the restaurant, but most of all the price for what we got! Thanks for the very nice service and we‘re planning to be back...

Great hotel, very friendly and helpfull staff, good food.

We stayed for 3 nights. Friendly staff in the restaurant. Everything worked and the apartments are spacious and so cozy. Very baby friendly! Although a bit of noise at night from other guests. Overall great stay with a nice location.

Part of coach tour. Room clean and spacious. NO tea/coffee facilities. NO aircon. NO charging points. NO main room lights, just 3 lamps. TV remote sticky. Staff very friendly but hard to communicate with, they really don't understand English fully. Food edible in the main no after dinner coffee unless you pay for it. 5 euros glass sprite from 2litr open bottle. This could be great but feels substandard...

Part of coach tour. Room clean, spacious, NO tea/coffee facilities, NO aircon, NO charging points, NO main room light just 3 lamps. TV remote sticky. Staff very friendly, but hard to communicate with, they don't really understand English fully. Food amazing but no after dinner coffee unless you pay for it. £5 for glass sprite, 400ml. This could be great but feels substandard and penny pinching

We arrived just after 2pm when they had just closed . Very kindly opened up for us to have coffee and cake. Very good selection of cakes all five of us enjoyed our cakes. Excellent service

I stayed at the hotel from October 2nd to 7th, 2025. I was very, very satisfied with everything. The room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was great, and the staff was wonderful. I would like to especially commend Mr. Ronald Matienzo Rovira, firstly because he addressed his guests by name, and secondly because he went out of his way to make his guests feel completely at ease. The hotel's location...

If you need peace and quiet and want to escape the stress of everyday life, this is the place for you. This little idyll is somewhat secluded, on the outskirts of Wernigerode. I received a very friendly welcome from the owners – two restaurateurs with a soul. The entire house exuded a warm, family atmosphere. My room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet was also very generous and delicious...

Super lovely stay! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend!!

The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful with all my questions and requests. I was even provided with additional towers in order to dry off my bike when it rained. Very grateful about it! The breakfast was basic, but tasty. Hotel's location is just perfect, about 10-15 minutes walk from all the restaurants, coffee shops and sightseeing attractions in the city. I'd recommend the hotel to everyone...

A host who cares about the guests. On the 24th and 25th of December he cooked very tasty for his guests, unscheduled. Very nice staff, quiet area, parking lot, no luxury but well managed, loving care. We would love to come back.

Great service and the rooms were very clean too! I can only recommend!

Nice breakfast. Great location - Quiet but quite central.

We were very excited! Had a clean and very spacious room (child had its own bedroom and there was a small kitchen). Pool and sauna in the basement were great. And the extremely friendly staff sweetened our stay.

Lovely quiiet hotel in a beautiful town. Friendly, helpful staff, tasty breakfast with lots of choice. Central location with parking.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 days and felt very comfortable overall. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was excellent. We almost always had a great bath and a nice sauna to ourselves. The parking facilities are sufficient in my opinion. The location is perfect, it is only a few minutes to the train station/bus and the beautiful center. The only thing is that the beds are a bit saggy and not all...

Were here on vacation. Hotel good. With breakfast and in the basement is a pool with jacuzzi. Relax after a stressful day, simply wonderful. Cleanliness is good, breakfast is sufficient. One tries to respond to the wishes of the guests. Unfortunately without air conditioning. So bring your own fan on hot days. Otherwise satisfied. Tip to the owners: a safe would be useful. Walking around with all your...

We enjoyed our stay here, the reception was friendly and the hotel was clean and well-maintained. The shower tool a shower to heat up but perseverance helped. Breakfast was good with a selection of cereals, cold meats, cheese and yogurts. There was no lift to get to the top floor. The hotel was in a really good place for visiting the town on foot and the town itself was lovely. We would stay...

Clean, tidy. Great location for getting around the town. Lovely hosts. Excellent breakfast.

Clean, spacious room with amazing view up the street and Werningerode Schloss so very close upon the hill. V good breakfast and a lovely small sauna you can reserve a time for private use. We appreciated a break from the larger city hotels in Hamburg and Berlin to stay in a small cozy bnb style environment. You can step right out the door to shopping and food. The staff was v sweet and we wished we...

The location was perfect and well within walking distance of the town. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the castle from my window. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and filled you up for the day

We stay overnight and loved the room. Was corner room, big, clean and bright. However it was terrible cold when we arrived and even after few hours. We recommend to management to pre-heat the rooms during auch cold days to give some more comfort to customers.

This hotel was clean and quiet and also provided good breakfast. We mostly appreciated them taking extra time to fulfill our dietary requirements.

A pearl in Harzen Very nice hotel in placed 5 min from town center. The view to the castle is magnificent and the hotel is superb. Very nice staff and a fine pool area. If we come this way again we are sure to check in. Mit freundliche grüße

Great Stay..... Nice stay, great hotel, excellent breakfast, very friendly staff, highly recommended hotel, very clean & tidy, will stay again at some point. Thanks for a great stay... 👍

Perfect Lovely stay, great staff and great breakfast

Perfect Perfect stay with helpfull personel and everything very satisfactory

The hotel was within easy walking distance to the castle, shopping, and great restaurants in old town.

Beautiful hotel with a castle view from the room. Everything is within walking distance. Rooms are very clean and staff is lovely and polite. Gets a bit loud since it's situated next to a fairly busy road but it's not a big deal. We rented the family room with kitchenette and it was nice and spacious. Highly recommend.

I can absolutely recommend Pension Marga! The lovely service, the room, and the location were all perfect. I will definitely be back!

Another highly recommended guesthouse, as everything about it is perfect. Very friendly staff who were always happy to offer advice on local attractions. Breakfast was ample and good, especially the fresh rolls every day. The guesthouse is within easy walking distance of the town center. Thank you for everything from the Zech family.

A lovely guesthouse with incredibly friendly hosts. The rooms are beautifully furnished and everything is perfect! The breakfast is excellent, especially the fresh bread rolls. The guesthouse is very centrally located, and the town center is easily accessible. The bus stop is also nearby, making it easy to get around. I highly recommend this guesthouse!

I was on a hiking holiday in the Harz Mountains with my son until today. Spacious, bright, and clean rooms. A plentiful and fresh breakfast. Friendly hosts. Pleasantly quiet location, and everything was completely relaxed and uncomplicated. We had a wonderful stay.

A beautiful, clean, lovingly furnished and decorated guesthouse, which is a bit off the tourist bustle. A few minutes walk (about 10 minutes) to the old town. Spacious rooms with seating. Super breakfast with everything your heart desires: various sausage and cheese platters, jam, honey, yoghurt, biscuits and stollen. One day salmon, the other antipasti and tomato mozzarella. Big thanks to the kitchen...

We were for the umpteenth time in our favorite pension. Very big and clean room. The breakfast is varied and absolutely sufficient. The lady from the breakfast service is also very nice and courteous. And there are good tips for exploring the area. We'd love to come back. Rainer and Sven from Wilhelmshaven

Excellent choice at breakfast

good renovated room, amazing staff at front desk, good german breakfast, super pet friendly and good locality - easily walkable to marktplatz

I stayed here for 4 nights, the location is strategic and comfortable

Stayed for 5 nights on a Great Rail Journey's holiday. A modern hotel that can cope with lots of large groups. Very comfortable rooms, good facilities. Self service restaurant food can be a bit hit and miss but generally good choice and value. Helpful staff and located within easy reach of the local attractions.

Nice hotel, nice staff excellent breakfast, comfortable room. It was very warm weather when we stayed and the only area that could be improved would be air conditioned rooms. I would stay again for sure.

Great stay. Clean room and good breakfast.
