I’m referring to the blonde receptionist with glasses. Unfortunately, I have to leave a negative review because her behavior was very unprofessional. She acted in a childish manner and seemed as if she was working there against her will.
When we encountered problems during check-in, she actually slammed her fist on the desk, then burst into tears, walked away, and left the guests without any assistance.
In my opinion, someone with this attitude is not suitable for a customer-facing role, especially at a hotel. It would be worth hiring someone who can at least communicate in basic English and is emotionally composed enough to handle interactions with guests professionally.

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. The rooms are lovingly designed, the bathrooms are modern and easily accessible. The balconies are well maintained and have a perfect view of the castle. The breakfast was plentiful, fresh and very tasty.
However, I recommend arriving by car as the bus connection is very poor.

Large and delicious breakfast buffet. Very nice service. Unfortunately no restaurant anymore. The room with balcony had a wonderful view. On three days, students had their jumping training, which was exciting to watch.
Unfortunately, the WiFi on the third floor left a lot to be desired.
All in all, a relaxing vacation.

We stayed at this nice hotel for the second time and were very satisfied again. Very friendly welcome, great breakfast and a lovely quiet location. We'd love to come back 👍

Room was OK but the bathroom was disappointing, especially the rusty heater where the clean towels hang. Breakfast is also OK.

A short review of our short trip ☺️ We can only recommend the Schanzenhaus in Wernigerode, it was very clean, charming rooms and a fantastic location not far from the promenade.
We'd love to come back 🤗

An all-round good hotel that we can recommend. Unfortunately we only stayed two nights. The breakfast buffet was good, with everything from muesli to scrambled eggs.
We would love to come back.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room is clean and spacious, equipped with everything you need. Buffet breakfast is good. I was especially pleased with the surprise that the hotel staff arranged for my birthday - for breakfast our table was festively decorated and my wife and I received a glass of dry sparkling wine.

As an international consultant in the hospitality industry with 23 years of experience, I would like to advise allowing reception staff to communicate with guests in languages other than German, adding music TV channels and channels in other languages. Also, perhaps, to increase the occupancy of the hotel, it would be advisable to use the capabilities of the ski resort - purchase and use a snow cannon, use a cable car, etc.

The breakfast service was superb. There was no place to stay in the evening, for example, as the hotel did not offer dinner. If you have not eaten dinner somewhere in town, you are stuck. The service at reception was not very friendly. The beds were much too soft and there was a deep hollow in the middle. The hotel is getting old and in desperate need of renovation. The radiator in the bathroom is very rusty. There was no fridge. It looks as if they are only renovating bit by bit. It is only OK for an overnight stay, but not 3 stars.

Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!

Think about what you would like to know if you were looking for a review about a place to relax. Please describe in detail what you liked and what you didn't. What would you advise to other guests and to the hotel owner. The more fully you tell about the hotel, the easier it will be for other people to make a choice and they will be very grateful to you!
