Pension Camping Schausten in Cochem

This campsite upgraded our stay in Cochem. We arrived last minute without a reservation after another campsite turned out to be disappointing. The owner was incredibly flexible, thought along with us, and offered us a beautiful, spacious spot right next to the quirky Biergarten. What was supposed to be a one-night stay quickly turned into three nights — and if the weather had been better, we probably would have wanted to stay the entire week.
Everything was just right. Highly recommended, especially if you enjoy a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and are open to going with the flow!

We stayed there in July this year on our cycling tour. We had everything we needed and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place!

Quirky little family run campsite turned up out the blue wewere travely europe and pulled in the owner was so sweet said we can park anywhere we want road bit busy but wasn't put off we parked along river close 2 pretty village cochem 26 euros pn

Nice place, super cabins, good service . We enjoyed the place. Breakfast a bit small on varieties , but ok. Coffee was really super !!
Clean toilets and shower.
As beside the road, a bit noisy.But nighttime was ok.

Firstly - I did not use the campground but the rooms they rent out & my experience - thumbs up They are the perfect hosts. We were greeted warmly & could feel the ambiance of the place by looking at the 'long & relaxed chit-chat' of people in the restaurant. The hosts are always smiling & very helpful. Breakfast is also good. When they noticed that my daughter wasn't eating anything, they brought us 3 packs of cereals (to choose from) & milk, without us asking for it. The gesture won my heart & my daughter was happy too, finally ate something. The room & bathroom were very clean, spacious rooms, ample parking, perfect location (short walk to the heart of the town). Good food & drinks option at the restaurant. We had a private bathroom but the common ones for campground also looked clean. There is a small kitchenette in the room with basic cutlery, again very helpful. I enjoyed my stay & totally recommend them. & yes, the outdoor tables, the view & night sky are a perfect watch from this location. Enjoy!

A quirky but lovely little campsite running alongside the road and river in the forested valley heading down into the pretty town of Cochem. We messaged ahead to book our one night stopover on our way south through Germany, but there was plenty of space and we could have probably just showed up. The facilities are included in the cost, they're basic but clean and the showers are hot. The reception area also serves as a cosy and welcoming bar and shop. A 10 minute walk from the campsite takes you in to Cochem town where there are plenty of places to eat and drink, (but head across the river for better value), and the area has lots of walks and a cable car up the hill for a view.

Lovely campsite! It's really well located only a 10 minute walk into town. Clean facilities. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the beer garden is charming, offering delicious home made food at good prices. The place just has good vibes, with good music and a quirky decor. It makes you want to sit in there and have a beer, chatting to fellow campers.
The only downside is, like someone else mentioned on another review, that the ground is quite hard/pebbly so securing the tent was not easy. It's a rather narrow campsite so it is a bit tight for space hence a bit crowded but it makes up for it with everything else. One more improvement I would suggest is extending the timer on the showers, 5 minutes can feel a bit of a rush when you are a woman with long hair to wash. I would definitely stay there again though.
