Moselromantik Hotel Kessler Meyer in Cochem

We where a party of 7 Bikers doing a tour of Germany, Firstly the hotel staff could not be more helpfull they where all very curtoius and polite, the food was second to none, As we where a party of 7 they gave us our own large table and private room in the resturant, that night we all agreed it was one of the best meals we have had, we are all well traveled and have dined in some of the world top place, but this evening meal was top class, we where all given a picnic bag to take with us when we left the following moring. All in all a briliant hotel.

I stayed at the Hotel Keßler-Meyer for two nights in September 2023 with a friend. We had a very good time overall. We had room 4 in the main building, close to the reception, which was clean, spacious, stylishly decorated, and well-equipped with A/C, TV, safe, fridge, coffee maker, free Wi-Fi, hair dryer, bath robes, slippers, a sauna bag containing towels and a blanket, and even a hiking backpack with a refillable water bottle. The bathroom was clean and spacious as well. A nice selection of brand toiletries were provided. We had booked a package which included half board, a massage, a bottle of wine and one of water, a cocktail, plus free use of the spa area until 6 p.m. on the day of departure. The pool is quite small but was never very crowded. I often had it to myself. The spa area is nice, though rather small as well. It contains two saunas and a steam bath. Tea, water, and apples are provided free of charge. Breakfast was buffet style and was very good. There was a vast selection of items and most of them were of good quality, though we didn’t care for the falafel and humus. Didn’t try the fried eggs as they looked quite dry. Dinner on both days consisted of soup (two kinds to choose from), salad from a salad bar, main course (meat, fish, or vegetarian), and dessert (two options to choose from). We enjoyed the food, overall. My only criticism is firstly the fact that the same kind of soup was offered on the two consecutive days, so although it was good it was probably not freshly prepared on the second day, and secondly the horrible dessert on the second day, which consisted mainly of a marinated pear that was terribly dry. My friend couldn’t eat it at all, in fact. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We did have our doubts about the massage as it was included in our package, but it turned out to be very good. When we checked out we were given a snack pack for the trip home consisting of two bottles of water, apples, and home-made cookies, which was a very nice touch. It takes about twenty minutes to walk to Cochem old town from the hotel, but it is a pleasant walk along the river. The walk to the castle looks steep, but it turned out to be easier than I had expected and took me less than half an hour. So I would say the hotel’s location isn’t bad. We had a view of the castle from our room. To sum it up, I warmly recommend this hotel and might return.

Mostly fantastic
The hotel is a great destination for couples or adults. The swimming pool and spa areas are not suitable for children but wonderful for adults. Everything is very clean and well looked after.
We stayed in one of the south-facing rooms (last minute booking) in the older part of the hotel, the rooms was comfortably furnished and a good size. There were many nice touches such as complementary chilled mineral water and a bottle of wine, an umbrella, a rucksack with water bottles that could be borrowed while staying at the hotel. The staff members were all well trained, very polite and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, there were so many choices of delicious food, even options of freshly cooked omelette. They also offered their own sparkling wine as an extra treat, which was delicious. Contrary to the hotel’s website, there is no à la carte menu in the evening but guests have to choose from a 3 course menu by 4 pm on the day, which is fine if one is already staying there but an inconvenience if one is travelling that day but would like to eat at the hotel. The evening meal was nice but we thought quite expensive for what it was. We regularly dine out in the UK in upmarket restaurants but the quantity and sophistication of the dishes, although nice, did not warrant the price of €55 per person. Having said this, we loved our stay at Hotel Kessler-Meyer and we are hoping to stop there again on our way through Germany to Austria.

Great Hotel
Good hotel a little way out of cochem but we had a lovely one night stay nice little touches, wine water & 2 chocolates in the fridge, lovely breakfast and a nice departing gift of an apple bottle of water & biscuit

Very nice spa hotel with extra helpful staff and wonderful service. The room was very hot with no AC on entry, but a fan was provided and opening the window allowed fresh air in which cooled the room over night. There was a balcony with a beautiful view of the castle. A bottle of wine along with two chocolates and a welcome drink at the bar were offered on arrival, and a bag with water and snacks was provided when leaving. Delicious drinks at the bar as well. I also utilized the swimming pool which was indoors and very refreshing. The spa area was large with seating and other amenities. Overall wonderful hotel and very helpful staff. Not walkable to Cochem central city but an easy drive or bike ride. Highly recommended.

Incredible on all counts! Comfortable beds, wonderful service, delicious breakfast... It was a perfect experience. Looking forward to returning.

I made a group booking of 29 people with the hotel and they really looked after us. I would say that it is not cheap but it is worth it. We enjoyed four nights and on two of those we had an excellent dinner in the hotel. Breakfast was fantastic. We found that the walk into town was a bit of a trek although it helped work up an appetite. The views and location generally are fantastic. English is very well spoken in the hotel even though the website is in German only.

Nice hotel in a good location. There are stairs that take you to a street that connects downtown (15-20 min walk). The staff is friendly, but you have to wait for a while when you get to the reception area because they're all in the back. The rooms are good in size. The "family room" (connected by a common door that faces the hall) has no lock for the outside door, at night you have to lock both doors separately. These room are separated from the hotel and have no view other than a small private yard and the street. Is a quiet location despite of being next to the street because is a sleepy town.
The breakfast buffet is good and has a lot of variety. The servers are friendly and attentive. Unfortunately we had one server that decided to talk to us about trump and how he liked him, which totally ruined my breakfast, because I didn't need to remember that guy being our president.

Lovely, family run hotel with enough parking spaces. Warm welcome, excellent and friendly staff. Great breakfast. We also dined there one day (out of a 4 night stay) and it was a very pleasing experience. The food was very good with wines to match. Our room was spacious and confortable with a lovely little balcony, offering a great view of the Reichsburg and the river Mosel at Cochem.
I would recommend it and return there any time :)

Very good hotel a must. We took as a concept room with breakfast and both food as our stay were fine .We have gn single comment about this hotel. It was all the trimmings. Congratulations to the entire team.
