Booked months in advance on a family recommendation. We had long journeys both on arrival and departure so I emailed the Hotel to explain and request a quiet room location. Got a quick and encouraging reply. However, on arrival we discovered there was a wedding reception in the garden and our ‘quiet’ room was directly above the party. I went to reception to ask when the event was expected to end. The churlish receptionist just said ‘in the night’. I mentioned our need for a good night’s rest and would have been happy to switch rooms to the front of the hotel but Germany’s worst receptionist just shrugged and said ‘we are full’. Fortunately I always book flexible…so we were out of there. Spoiled a nice evening in Dortmund. Can recommend the Gruner Baum restaurant if you do stay in the area though.

Stayed here on our drive back to England from Poland. Clean and comfortable hotel well worth the price with free on-site parking. Attached restaurant caters to food allergies (gluten and dairy) and dogs are welcome and treated well (dog bowl and puppy treats in the room). LOVE this hotel. Will definitely stay again on our way through.

After we told the reception, that our room was cold, they turned the heat on. Then everything eas good

Really loved our stay. Very friendly receptionist who was very helpful. Clean and tidy room. Enjoyed the balcony.

Loved this hotel - after a long day on the road, they took us in quite late in the evening. The hotel was located exactly where we wanted it - it was clean and quiet with loads of extras to make you feel comfortable and at home. Good parking and great breakfast. Would stay again. Thank you.

The hotel is nice, the breakfast very nice and a convenient location. But the service was surprisingly bad, with staff not very helpful when we needed help, pretry much told us to figure it out outselves in a rather rude matter (i’m usually satisfied with the most, not often, complaining - never experienced anything like this…) Thumb down also for plastic covered matresses and pillows, pretty damp sleeping experience… Would not recommend it, must be better places for same money.
