Great modern Hotel with best gym and spa next to the airport. Unfortunately no airport shuttle. Good food and great service as well (Katarina). Free parking while you stay! You can feel the difference of a family owned Hotel!

Road trip stop off
Good rooms, really clean, comfortable beds. Great place to stay if you have a car, as parking was free, but not much around if you don't have a car. Restaurant was under refurbishment, so only complaint would be limited options for food. Amazing gym facilities on top floor - with great views while you work out.

Great hotel near the airport. No restaurants around and not walkable to other places. But Restaurant and bar on site. No airport transfer.
Great rooms and service and free parking with stay. Highly recommend „Van der Valk“.

Very modern and well-equipped hotel, friendly staff; the only drawback was that there were green-yellow streaks on the wall in the hallway of my room (unclear what substance) and after I returned in the evening there was always an unpleasant smell in the air (unclear whether it was coming from the bathroom or the ventilation), which could only be temporarily aired out, even though the room was supposed to have been cleaned and otherwise looked clean.

Booked 1 night for a trade fair visit in Essen, a fifteen minute drive away.
Great hotel, nice clean rooms, good bed and TV with Dutch channels
Excellent breakfast with a choice between continental and English breakfast.
Free parking spaces
Much cheaper than comparable hotels in Essen during the fair periods.

I was completely satisfied with my stay at the hotel. The accommodation offered a first class experience in every respect. The room was comfortable and clean, the service was excellent and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was also ideal as it was close to attractions and amenities. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back!

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The decor was beautiful, the staff was friendly and the food was delicious. The prices were very affordable, especially if you need parking during a trip.
