Hotel close the main train station and the city center with just a few minutes to walk. It was surprisingly quiet here. Very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet is very good and you can something for every taste. Any time again.

Room was oke. Clean. I had a 1 person room you don't see those a lot anymore. But the bed was 120-140 wide so okay. The breakfast was realy nice with salmon fresh baked eggs and to much to choose from. The staff was very nice.

Rooms were very modern and Clean, Location was also good. You could take a bus from Central station to the Hotel. Negative Aspects would be the Internet connection, it was very poor and i had to log in the browser everytime i wanted to use the internet. and the air conditioner ( it didn't work). The staff was really friendly. The rooms were clean and we enjoyed it being so close to the train station and the pedestrian zone. One of the elevators was broken and we were there with a large group so that was a tiny bit unpleasant.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Ibis Styles Hotel in Gelsenkirchen while we were in town to watch the HSV match — and it turned out to be a great choice for the trip. The location is super convenient, right across from the main train station, so getting to the stadium and around the city was a breeze.

This is very much a cheap but fine hotel. They obviously run on a small staff, but the staff they have are friendly and helpful. We probably had the worst room in the hotel. It was right next to the restaurant which shares the location with the hotel. So on the weekend it was extremely loud. We also had a view out of the window to only emergency stairs. There was no Network availability in the room so I had to seek out the lobby for everything. This is a good budget hotel. Try to get a room in the main building. Rooms in the annexes are smaller and need updating. Our rooms were a good size. Clean but maybe a little tired looking. I liked this hotel I liked this hotel, but you should not have too high expectations. It is a fairly stnadard hotel, not fancy in any way. The essentials were there, wifi worked ok, I had a large room, free parking just outside the door. No restaurant though but there were plenty nearby. Didn´t use the breakfast so cannot comment. Nice hotel This is a nice hotel at reasonable prices, situated in the citycentre. Certainly not a luxury hotel but good value for money. Very nice and attentative in the reception. I got a fairly big room with a balcony . also nice. I didn´t use the breakfast so cannot comment on that. Internet was stable and fairly fast. I can recommend this hotel to those not expecting a luxury stay.

Located from 5-10 mins. walk from Essen Hbf. Very quiet and staff is helpful. Free one glass of beer or coke is available at the time of check-in. If you want to go shopping, go walk for 10 mins. and then you'll reach Limbecker Platz. There's REWE (supermarket) and you can grab some German sweets for gifts. :)

Idyllic hotel in a quiet area but with good local transportation connections to Düsseldorf airport and Essen. The hotel has a good restaurant, bar and a 9-pin bowling alley. The rooms and the breakfast are quite basic, but serve their purpose. Overall I think you get really good value for your money when staying in this hotel.

Perfect place to stay if you are attending an event at Veltins Arena. The lovely young lady at the front desk even gave a small group of us a ride to the venue. And she was so pleasant and friendly. We even walked back to the hotel after the concert and it was a nice, safe trip. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. This property delivered exactly what we were looking for.

Unusually large room. Nice and clean. Only let down is the lack of air conditioning. Would not recommend going there to stay when the evenings are warm. Yes, they provide free standing fans, but they are too noisy for my liking. Great staff.

Check in was quick and easy, and reception was friendly, and fortunately for me, spoke good English. Free parking, and a tube station next door. Single room for me, very basic, but fine for Two nights. Not much in the way of entertainment around that part of Essen, however the tube station helped.

Nice small hotel. Breakfast without much choice. No refrigerator in the room. They don't clean your room unless you put a tag on the door.

Good attention and good breakfast too. A little bit old in my opinion but would go again if possible. Soft bed and pillows . Lucky to have a refrigerator. Did not the bathroom, kind of old and dark. Internet was fine. Stairs on corridor made difficult to go with a heavy luggage .

The facility and the location are great, most of the rooms are great, most of the staff too, but also some bad experience from time to time. A few rooms have very uncomfortable beds, inflexibility to any kind of demand from some punctual staff... But the next morning the management trying to solve all issues in a friendly way :-) Overall a very good hotel which needs a very few rooms to be revamped...

Nice hotel stay for a night. Big rooms, little dated. Could hear some traffic from Road but good location and easy walking distance to old town kettwig, the river and the station to take you into Essen. Breakfast had a good selection and hotel staff were very nice and helpful.

A very pleasant experience for an overnight stay in Kettwig. A great place to dine with generous portions . The breakfast was very good witt a real friendly and attentive service. The rooms were fine ( maybe the bed a bit low ) All in all a perfect place to stay.

The restaurant is just superb, the food is increadible and the service wonderful. The hotel rooms are large and the shower is very good. The location is beutiful. Highly reccommended.

The restaurant is truly phenomenal and one of the best I've dined at in North Rhine-Westphalia! Our server took our allergies very serious and recommended meals and wine pairings. Highly recommend especially for gluten or dairy allergies!

We had an appointment at GOP. We saw this unperfect hotel nearby and liked the idea of imperfection. :-) The service was very nice and they gave us upgraded rooms. The toilet wasn't imperfect, it was supersonic! Warmed toiletseat, treatment for your bottom. You can go to the restaurant for the meals. The were good and there is enough choice for all eaters even vegans.
