Great hotel, large clean rooms and close to shops and resturants. Ideal if your visiting Essen University Hospital

Beautiful location, very functional for congress or other business meetings. The rooms are huge and clean. The breakfast has a wide range of options. Even for lunch and dinner there were vegan options, although the steak was delicious. Near the hotel there is an incredible park with wildlife and hiking areas.

The Atlantic Hotel in Essen is a clean and well-maintained property with a great breakfast selection and a stylish bar area. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, a major downside was the parking situation. Unfortunately, parking cannot be reserved in advance, and upon arrival, we were told the on-site car park was full. The location is excellent. The room is large and well-equipped. The only drawback is that the sound insulation is not very good. I was woken up by the sound of the door closing next door in the morning and the floor felt a little shaken.

Good, only far from the main city

The staff were absolutely fantastic, after an overbook by ******* the staff went above and beyond for us as a family with two children. Would highly recommend and have saved this as a hotel we will be staying at in the future

Gave us the wrong room type (double instead of twin) and couldn't change it until next day, even though booked 6 months in advance. Cleaners woke us up 5 hours before checkout time on last day which was odd. Otherwise a fine hotel.

It was okay, but there seemed to be some renovation work going on at the hotel. Because of that, not all services were available. Also, breakfast wasn’t served at 7:30 – nobody was there yet. It was set up later, which made us almost late for an appointment.

I booked a room at this hotel as a family member underwent surgery and was having rehab at the centre next door. I had to leave quickly and booked a room the day I left. My room was okay, but the price was 250 Euros. When queried, staff said that was because there was a soccer game at the stadium next door. Very expensive!

Very good location for Schalke fans. Unfortunately, coffee was only available for breakfast upon request, vending machines were out of order and staff were overwhelmed. The bathroom only has a bathtub with a high entry for showering.

The hotel is very centrally located, just a few meters from the pedestrian zone. Unfortunately, because of this, people from the drug scene also hang around in the area, but that's sadly the case in every major city. At the hotel itself, however, there are absolutely no problems. Everything is clean and the staff is very friendly.

This is the most satisfactory stay for me in Germany…. Staying in Munich and Hannover so far this is the Best hotel for near amenities of restaurant and street Christmas market.

I stayed there during Essen spiel. The mini-fridge in the rooms do not cool anything at all and might as well not have existed. Since I have diabetes and need to keep my medicine cold, it was an issue. Luckily, the staff accomodated my needs by keeping my medicine in the fridge at the lobby bar. We stayed 2x nights with our football team in this hotel. Ok not new, but we knew that. Good service, good breakfast, nice rooms. Price/ quality I'm ok with this hotel.

This hotel used to be good .. but now rooms looking tired and old .. not told there wouldn’t be a bath only a shower. The hotel staff works hard around the clock to keep things clean. The breakfast buffet was always fully stocked and really clean. I stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it.

We had a great overnight stay here on our way back to England. Room was perfect, staff great. Nice little bar with a fair selection on drinks. Breakfast was great. The hotel has an amazing restaurant area and outside space, it is a shame that they don't utilise this space for an evening food service, such a waste.

Hotel is conveniently situated 300meter away from Philharmonie U Bahn station and 1.5km to Essen HBF. Nice n neat hotel, I wished the water pressure in the shower area can be stronger though.

It was clean, renovated, and dog-friendly. The location wasn't ideal for dogs, but that's typical for centrally located places. Very flexible and a very, very nice room. I'd gladly stay again.

We booked a last minute room to attend Spiel Messe. We came with our small child. I called and requested a crib in the room. We arrived early on the day of check in. It's only 2 stars, but here's the big wow, you get a nice room too stay in for a price that is comfortable. Close to the center and not far from next bus or tram. The hotel is a school and you stay in the dorm, it is nice and quiet so do not worry about that.

Rooms were very modern and Clean, Location was also good. You could take a bus from Central station to the Hotel. Very clean rooms. But unfortunately the climate in the hotel room was very poor. It was hot and humid. Also, in my opinion the pillows were too large and too small. Furthermore, the hotel itself and its facilities were outdated. Therefore, I would not recommend this hotel.

I was traveling on business and the hotel had all I needed: appropriate place to work in the room, several parking options, very close to Essen Messe. Besides that, the single room I stayed in was clean, quiet, with comfortable bed and great shower. The staff was really sweet, friendly and competent.
