I spoke on the phone with the nicest man ever, he helped me through everything and answered all my questions. When we arrived we were welcomed and accompanied to a place to park our car. The service was amazing, I would absolutely recommend staying here. 10/10 service

Really nice little hotel for 3+ stars. Centrally located, very clean, very well thought through. It may be 3 stars, but feels like four. Extremely polite amd nice management, crispy white sheets and towels, complimentary waters, chocolate. Everything you need is in, also tablets, tv, water cooker.
Also veeeeery comfortable bed and pillows. Street parking as well as a paid parking a block away.
Kids and dog friendly with no additional charge. Just great! We are coming back to town next month and consider booking with them again. Very very impressed

The rooms were great. The breakfast was stellar!!! Loved the filtered coffee, free water, bag lunch, nice area in close proximity to transports and a wonderful little Christmas market! Great great great!!!

Nice staff and a really great breakfast.
Although everything seems to be clean and cozy I have two issues to point out:
- mattress to soft : difficult to fall asleep and neck / back pain in the next morning
- loud cleaning personnel early in the morning (sunday 8h): door slamming and talking loud in the corridors. They insistently knocked on my door and entered my room twice while I was still sleeping / awaking up (by 9h in the morning).

This is not a 5 star hotel but my rating reflects the quality compared to others of this class (3*). The rooms are kind of variable. If you are low and on the front you may have street noise (the hotel is on a crossing) and the single rooms can be quite small. If you are up or at the back, on a double room they are ample. The breakfast buffet is great and frankly is better than some 5* hotels. The downside is there is no lift but reception does offer to help if you need it (but you still need to get yourself up those stairs to the first or even fourth floors) and whilst the breakfast room is open, the bar/restaurant attached is closed due to the Covid crisis. However, there is plenty nearby where you can either way in or take out.

Value fort money. Great breakfast, rooms were renovated. Functional and quiet hotel, near metro station. Free tickets for local public transport.

My favourite place to stay when I come to Essen. Friendly staff, good location, small but decent rooms with a comfortable bed and a very very good breakfast.

I was a little sceptical about what I'd receive from a 3* hotel but was very positively surprised. The room was very cozy, even had a teapot and tea/coffee, a nice bathroom and TV with German channels. The breakfast was truly superb - lots to choose from for everyone. When checking out, everyone gets a packed lunch - very cute in my opinion.

The setbacks - no elevator. Walking to the 4th OG might not be for everyone. Really thin walls - I could hear anything my neighbour was doing in the bathroom.
