Description

Hezelhof Hotel in Dinkelsbuhl is a 4-star property built in 2008 and renovated in 2013, offering a variety of room types from Standard Single rooms to spacious Suites and Double Suites. The hotel is spread across several buildings near the old town, with some rooms featuring balconies. Guests will find modern amenities including free WiFi, heating, lifts, and a business center. The hotel welcomes pets for a nightly fee and provides free parking, though parking space is limited and booking in advance is recommended. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast buffet daily, and there is also a bar and terrace area. Services such as laundry, dry cleaning, bike rentals, and a tour desk are available. Reviews highlight the excellent bed quality and professional, friendly staff. However, some guests noted the hotel’s layout requires walking over cobblestones outdoors between buildings, which may be cumbersome with heavy luggage.

Location

Hezelhof Hotel is located at Segringer Str. 7 in the historic town of Dinkelsbuhl, Germany. It is within walking distance to the old town center, making it convenient for exploring local attractions. The nearest airport is Stuttgart Echterdingen (STR), approximately 92 km away. The hotel is situated close to a golf course within 3 km and offers free bike rentals for guests wishing to explore the surrounding area. Public transport access to the town is limited, so travelers arriving by car should reserve one of the three parking spots available close to the hotel, about 50 meters from the entrance.

Tips

Good: Professional staff, even friendly. Good heating, quiet place, excellent bed. So so: Breakfast is untypically boring for a German place. They have no concept of Decaf: There are kettles in rooms but decaf isn't an option, even on demand. In a 4 star. Poor: The "hotel" consists of severel buildings in the vicinity. I had to drag my heavy suitcase around the block over 150 m of rough cobble stones. There was no internet in the rooms. And even my own roaming net only worked late at night. Way too week for zoom calls. That's a major disadvantage. General: Reaching the town by public transport is,a pain in the neck. No shopping evenings and Sat / Sun. Restaurants quite expensive for what they serve. Good enough for Germans and AngloSaxons but if you're Soanish or French do picnics.

Was wonderful… lovely breakfast included and amazing front desk staff. Thank you from Canada.

Really spectacular! Great breakfast, great front desk. Parking was a problem, but hey, it’s an old walled city. It’s not their fault. And the value and staff made up for the parking.

Wonderful stay. The staff was helpful and available. The rooms were clean, towels and linens great. Breakfast was excellent in the hotel restaurant. The only surprise was that parking cost extra. Even parking on the street had a fee. Still a great place. I will go there again next stay.

Hotel is in a perfect location, just walking distance from old town. Comfort double room is a spacious room and the breakfast is great. This is a good choice for a hotel in charming Dinkelsbuhl. Check in was a breeze, staff is friendly and restaurant options in the area are a lot!

Very friendly staff and wonderful food. Such a unique atmosphere within an historic building yet the restaurant was so modern. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at one of four hotels of the hotel, Hotel Louise. As any other of this Hezelhof hotels, it is centrally located in downtown Dinkelsbühl. If you come by car, it is highly recommended to book a parking lot as there is only limited parking or residential parking in Dinkelsbühl. The rooms are new, it is more a boutique hotel, some rooms have a small balcony, but there is no air conditioning. It is an old building and does not get too hot, but during summer time it can get a bit warm during night-time. There is a small fridge, a small desk, free wifi all over the place, Breakfast is at Herzelhof Hotel, 2-3 min walk, very good, buffet style with everything you need to start a good day. We haven´t tried the restaurant with outside area. We wanted to make a reservation, but the lady at the reception was not very accommodating and we decided that we try another place as there are many good restaurants all over Dinkelsbühl. Although the service in total was very good later on, so this was just an exception.

This is a really nice hotel in the middle of Dinkelsbuhl. The staff were very friendly and our room (104) was spacious and airy. The breakfast was comprehensive and good. No complaints, would recommend to anyone. Note that the entrance is off the street down an alley. There is a sign on the sidewalk.

“So glad we stopped. Best night's sleep ever.”

Location: Dinkelsbühl is such a small town that location doesn’t really matter. It is most likely that you would travel to this town by car. With this in mind be sure to contact the hotel in advance for one of the three parking spots they can reserve 50 metres from the hotel.

Rooms: The hotel is split into two sides. We stayed in a room in the newly refurbished (mid 2013) side above the restaurant (Luis) that also serves the complimentary breakfast. The rooms are very comfortable and well designed. Actually nearing the completion of our round-the-world trip as I write this, I can state that the hotel rooms were among the most comfortable on the trip. The bed in particular deserves a mention. My wife and I have very different preferences when it comes to bed surfaces. At breakfast we both instantly remarked to each other how well we slept due to the bed. I would love to purchase one, it was that good.

Staff: Extremely helpful. I emailed the staff prior requesting a car spot. They replied quickly and friendly, and showed us to our room personally explaining everything that was required. They made us feel welcome. The only exception to this was one of the restaurant staff members. Germanic staff can be stone faced as part of the culture, but one staff member in particular was rude once I asked more than a couple of questions about their menu.

Would I stay again: Yes. I’ve already highly recommended it to friends and would choose to stay here more than a single night even if to get a decent nights rest.

Rating Sleep quality 5/5 - So good that I want to go back an change the rest of my 40+ reviews and downgrade them to 3/5 or less. It really is that good!

Only let down - the rude staff member at Luis restaurant attached to the hotel.
