Charming hotel in the very midst of the old town. Stayed two nights from Boxing Day onwards. Some comments:

Personnel, everywhere, at the reception and dining hall, were truly lovely and friendly. We felt like being taken care of. A detail pronouncing this: when leaving the friendly person in the reception offered us two bottles of water for the travel. Never before!

Room was spacious and nicely decorated with Africa theme. Bed was comfy. No street view, which also most likely was a benefit in reducing the street noise. I did ask for a quiet room in the reservation process and we got one.

My partner noticed toilet to be slightly cold compared to the main room. A small radiator would fix the issue. This was in our "Standard double room".

Breakfast was plentiful with various sorts. Warm and cold. Lovely Franconian bread! Salmon in small glass jars! Cooled sekt! A friendly lady at breakfast catering offered to prepare my partner a boiled egg when they were ran out (we were the last ones just before closing time). Again, truly great service!

Locked garage for our car was available with 20 EUR per night charge. Reasonable charge.

Great hotel in which we hope to have a room on our next visit!

Amazing hotel in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Their rooms are beautiful and very clean and they are air conditioned. They have an amazing breakfast buffet. They also have a parking garage with puffins for electric cars. A little hart to get to with a larger vehicle, but once there you don't have to move until you leave. Very attentive personal if you need anything. Right in the heart of town. Everything is within walking distance.

Pristinely clean and well appointed. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Check in was prompt and the breakfast buffet was excellent - special touches like names on the breakfast tables were a unique personal touch. The rooms were spacious, bedding (especially the pillows ) were extremely comfortable. The hotel is half a block from the markt Platz (where the Christkindlmarkt was) and frankly everything within old Rothenburg is a short walk away. exceptional stay !! This will be our first pick when we return (also a small note - no elevators so pack light or ask for help ahead. Strongly recommend this charming hotel.

Staf was most helpful. They helped woth the bzgs & alwatys responded to requests. Room was clean, comfortable beds & pillows. Breakfast was so good with a variety of foods. Staff wanted to make sure we had a great stay always with a smile. Located very close to the Christmas Market.

What a wonderful experience we had at Hotel Sonne! Although our friends, my husband and I arrived early, the husband and wife proprietors greeted us warmly, and even had a staff member take our bags up the stairs to our rooms when they were ready. Charming decor throughout the hotel. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable and cozy. Spotless bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower. Lovely amenities were provided in the room and the bath. Outstanding breakfast was offered each morning. Drinks were available in the evening for a small but reasonable fee. We will always stay at Hotel Sonne in future trips to RodT.

Isabella and Lars were absolutely amazing hosts. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for. Their recommendations were spot-on—often better than what we originally asked for—and they made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

The hotel itself is a charming boutique gem: quaint, cute, romantic, and full of the kind of character that makes Rothenburg feel magical. One of the sweetest touches was arriving at breakfast to find a personalized name placard waiting for us — the kind of detail that makes you feel seen and valued.

The location couldn’t be more perfect—right in the center of the Christmas markets. We loved being able to pop back inside to warm up or freshen up before exploring more. Staying here put us right in the heart of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and it truly elevated the entire experience.

We just finished a fantastic two-night stay at the Hotel Zur Alten Brücke and truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment we checked in, the atmosphere was genuinely welcoming and warm. The room itself was perfect for us. The bed was incredibly comfortable—we slept like logs both nights! And getting to relax in the room was easy and enjoyable. Plus, the Wi-Fi worked great the entire time, which is always a bonus. Housekeeping did a wonderful job; everything was spotless and organized when we returned each day. What really sets this hotel apart are the people and the details. We were absolutely delighted that our name was written on a cute little blackboard at our breakfast table for the entire time we were there! It’s such a simple but incredibly personal touch that shows how much they care. The entire customer service team is fantastic—super good and friendly. We even got a chance to meet the Owners, which was lovely! The wife was super chatty and made us feel right at home, and the husband was helping out at the cashier. This hotel is a true gem. Our stay was so comfortable and relaxing that we’re already planning our next trip back! Highly, highly recommend!
