Where to stay in Fussen

Ok but lousy pillows, very early check out.

All the staff were very welcoming. Facilities and decor were elegantly stylish with a nod to the history of the property.  The location was superb, quiet and with a view of  Schloss Neuschwanstein in the distance. Free bus tickets for the town next were a nice perk.  

It is a family hotel. No one serves after 4pm. Remember to check your emails, otherwise there will be problems with the room card. There is a smell of elders when you enter the door. It has its own parking lot and you can park for free. There is no water heater, but a large bottle of water is provided. The room is small, see the photos.

The hotel is conveniently located, clean, and beautiful. The staff are very helpful. It's very good. Although I checked in late, the staff did not help me solve the problem impatiently.

The hotel service is good, but the check-in process is a bit difficult.

I really enjoyed the room — it was very cozy, with a comfortable bathroom and a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The staff were friendly and responsive.

The parking lot is small, with narrow access roads, requiring a bit of driving skill. It's actually an Italian restaurant, and it's quite busy, with locals dining in. The hotel is a converted residential building, right by the lake. It has its own parking garage, but you have to pay for it. The garage is small, making getting in and out a challenge. At night, when the crowds are less, you can park on the street. Many local Germans are vacationing nearby. Our room had a kitchen, but it wasn't very useful. This was the most amazing hotel. Our room was beautiful and the view utterly breathtaking. We had a small balcony and giant picture windows in the room from which we could see a lake with a chain of alps. It’s a short walk to a castle ruins, and a short drive to Old Fussen. The entire area around the lake is walkable. The restaurant was equally amazing. The food was good, the service was amazing....

We discovered this restaurant by chance. It was such a lovlely location with a really good menu we decided to book for dinner. The venison goulash in particular was superb. The potato soup was divine. All five of us enjoyed if so much we went back the following night to try the rest of the menu. Love their spatzle. If you are hungry go there! Do it! Eat!

A beautiful location... food was excellent with a good choice breakfast. The toilet and shower rooms are shared on corridor but we're always clean.. some traffic heard at night.. we stayed room 8 and 2 x toilets were opposite. View from bedroom was perfect. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Evening meal could only be reserved from 6pm - 6.30pm... which was a little early for ourselves...

My fiance and I stopped here on a road trip through Germany. The staff was so nice and the location is so so beautiful! It is a nice private retreat away from the bustle of Fussen and tourist areas. Staff are just so sweet, they really made us feel welcome. Our room was cute but also clean. We had a room with a view of the lake. If you have dinner in the hotel restaurant, I highly recommend the Käsespätzle with small salad. Yumm, but also really rich & filling. Nature, beauty, idyllic setting, old old rooms with creaky floors. Early morning swims in the lake. So perfect. Such a romantic and beautiful place. Slight improvement could be if restaurant was open every evening.

Good service, very friendly staff. But the location is amazing!

I can only review the dinner: delicious! We are a family of five and everyone tried something off the menu and we shared. This is not my first go with traditional German/Bavarian fare, and I will say this is the best I have eaten so far. Food is made fresh, the staff was nice, flavours were delicious. We also had coffee and apple strudel and it was delicious. Also, cash only. I would eat here again...

So charming and authentic! Be aware this is a traditional rooming house. Beautiful building and traditional restaurant. Come in to town with Euros- they aren't accepting credit cards right now, and cash cannot be exchanged in Fussen.

Be sure to bring cash. But the food is awesome as was the service. They can speak English but I spoke German and was with German people.

Lovely hotel in the centre of town. Offers parking at back for vehicles making it a great base for exploring. No elevators so if room higher than ground floor it's a trek with baggage. The breakfast here is amazing, buffet with everything you desire. Staff friendly and helpful. Recommended

The breakfast buffet was p good, theres a good spread of cheese and ham, as well as sausages. Quite value for money. The restaurant food was also good. I had it for lunch. But service staff was kinda rude:(

I was able to stay there without any inconveniences. They were flexible with check-in times and even accommodated me late. The location is also great, it's only a 10-minute walk so there's no need to worry about getting lost. However, there doesn't seem to be an elevator, so it might be difficult if you have a lot of luggage.

Everything is perfect, breakfast and dinner are exceptionally good. Best value for money. My son said we will definitely back for the next winter experience again.

The place is hard to find. There is a restaurant downstairs. The food is delicious. The room is a bit old, but very clean. There is no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage upstairs by yourself. Check-in is very convenient and the service attitude is OK.

Very cooperative and nice host. Located just 800 m from the main train station. Nice kitchen and dining hall for guests. Very clean and hygienically maintained rooms.

Rooms are very spacious, cleanliness and hygiene, bathroom size, amenities is best so far in an economical budgeted place like Rote Villa. Highly recommended for budget travellers!!

Friendly staffs. Full equipped kitchen and dinning room. Clean environment and room. Good location. 15 minutes walk from Fussen station. 10 minutes walk to a big supermarket and Mac Donland. 2 minutes walk to the stop of local bus line 71.

I would definitely stay here again. Very, very clean facilities. It looks like it has recently been renovated. Rooms were comfortable. A large kitchen and dining area, as well as a large game room. It was close enough to walk to town. I highly recommend staying here.

Very comfortable, the room was small but fully equipped, and the self-service kitchen was very cozy. The service was excellent. Füssen is definitely worth staying in; it's best to stay for a few days to explore the town, it's a very charming little town.

This was a deal booking and such a lovely surprise. The hotel staff and the owners were so friendly and helpful (make sure to go on the tour provided by the owners to learn a bit about the hotel and peak behind the scenes). I can't wait to stay at this hotel again. Great service, lovely rooms, wonderful spa amenities. The restaurant is good but the breakfast spread is fabulous. Easily the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. The hot tubs werent hot enough but all the different saunas and the steam room were just wonderful.

I loved it all. The food, free bike rental, free parking, the cows and scenery, the spa area, the cleanliness and care for the whole property, and the water fountain in the room. Lots of spa options! Balcony view was not great and the Balcony is very small.

Advertised as a hotel but it is a Bed and Breakfast. Upon checking in we were told it will be a vegan breakfast. The website photos showed the room with a balcony overlooking the lake. This was the room that we booked. The room we received faced a busy and noisy road with a balcony. Had we known that it was a Bed and Breakfast, a Vegan breakfast and a room facing a busy road, we would have looked elsewhere

It would be difficult to describe how perfect this little place is. Wonderful and friendly staff, gorgeous location 10 minutes from Fussen, fantastic room and an amazing breakfast.

Comfortable clean and a cozy room. Good shower, kind and hospitable stuff. Good value for money. You can have nice strolls around the nearby lake. As we had an electric car we could recharge it on the hotel parking lot which saved time charging in a charging station.

Had an amazing stay! The staff was incredibly attentive, the room was spotless, and the amenities exceeded my expectations. Perfect location, delicious breakfast, and staff made this a truly luxurious experience. Highly recommend, will definitely return!

The only thing I could do was to go up the stairs, so it was extremely difficult to carry my luggage. However, the luggage storage was huge. The room was small, but the interior was beautiful.

The hotel is a budget hotel so do not expect anything more. By the way if you check in late, you might get the upper floor rooms which has no elevators. If you have hard time climbing or carrying your luggage, you should reconsider.

A wonderful and charming hotel with a warm, atmospheric feel. The location is excellent — just a short and pleasant walk to the old town and the main pedestrian area. It’s the perfect place to stay if you want to enjoy the local vibe without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The ambiance and attention to detail make it a very comfortable and enjoyable experience.

It is a boutique hotel with no lift access, not so convenient to those carrying big luggages.

The landhaus Kössel provided a wonderful stay for our family trip of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids) to visit the Füssen and algau area to see Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. Good hostel in the center of Füssen. Interesting decor. However, it was a bit cramped and very stuffy from the radiators.

It was very clean and neat. I was very satisfied. I would like to visit again sometime. There are cheap drinks and snacks available downstairs.

I had a fantastic stay here!! It was self check in, so I didn't have to worry about my train being late and could come in at 11pm fine. The staff in the morning was extra friendly and great to chat with. Bed was super comfy. The included towels were huge and super nice. Plenty of room in toilet and shower area. I usually don't do great with top bunks, but the ladder up was super easy to climb...

Nice hotel in the very centre of Füssen. I spent a couple of nights there with a friend. The Windsor room is nice but I would only recommend for a short as it is quite small. The common areas were nice and clean. The staff was very helpful.

The self-catering hostel was basically clean, but had fewer rooms than I expected. Unless something unexpected happens, I probably won't stay there again.

We stayed here two nights. I can definitely recommend if you’re on a budget. Great location. Very easy check in and nice that they have a 24 hour minibar. The homemade cookie was delicious! We didn’t see any staff the whole time we were there.
