Hotel Das Rübezahl Romantic Hideaway & Boutique Spa in Schwangau

We stayed at Boutique Hotel Das Rübezahl for a weekend, and the experience was fantastic. The hotel is in a stunning location, right across from Neuschwanstein Castle, which creates an incredible atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, modern, and most offer amazing views of the mountains and the castle. I especially loved the room with a fireplace — cozy and romantic. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Upon check-in, we were welcomed with a drink by the fireplace, which immediately set a relaxing tone. Breakfasts are varied and delicious, and dinner at the Louis II restaurant was an absolute culinary delight. The spa area deserves special mention. The Turkish bath, sauna with mountain views, and jacuzzi make it the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. There’s also an indoor and outdoor pool where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Our second stay at Rübezahl. The atmosphere, the attention to detail, the staff, the food and the spa were excellent the first time. This time they were even better! The views of, and the walking in, the foothills of the Alps are tremendous. A wonderful, relaxing stay - we will return.

Charming boutique hotel with excellent food and service and stunning views of the nearby scenery. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. This was our second time staying here in 6 years and it did not disappoint. We will stay again if we're in the area.

Highly recommend this beautiful resort. View of the castles, excellent service, outstanding food. The bartender made excellent cocktails. She created drinks just for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the wellness area and outdoor spa and pool.

Das Ruebezal was an excellent experience! The food was fantastic, the staff was exceptional, and Adly the bartender is a master bartender! The rooms were excellent and you can’t beat the views. Would highly recommend especially during the winter.

This is an amazing property nestled in the valley below Neuschwanstein castle. It’s a few mins drive to the darling town of Fussen with quaint shops and nice restaurants. Everything about the hotel is incredible….Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast and dinner and cozy rooms. The spa area that all are free to use is the nicest one I’ve ever seen that’s included in the price of your room. Cold plunge, heated pool, hot tub and sauna are all available. In addition there are several rooms for you to relax in as you enjoy a soothing environment. There is a bar and sitting area in the lobby that make for nice common areas to meet up with your companions. Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous views, wonderful cuisine, excellent and very friendly service. Had a lovely 10 days holiday with thanks to all. Nothing too much trouble and extremely well run hotel. Despite the mixed weather conditions plenty to do and really enjoyed our Sunday morning breakfast at the mountain hut…

5/5 stay. Stayed with 3 kids, toddlers to teens. Two bedroom suite (‘Schlossl’) with a crib was more than enough space. Perfect view of the castles from the balcony. Room had great AC. Breakfast buffet was great with lots of options. Dinner was top-notch with great flavors and unique cocktails. Only negative with dinner were the stray wasps that seemed uncommonly attracted to our table and whose nest the hotel was unable to find. We were busy with the castles, but it looked like the hotel had easy access to bike trails. The castles were nine minutes away by car; we had a 0955 Neuschwanstein and got there around 0830. Plenty of parking that early, maybe got there too early. The pool was heated with great views of the castles and the spa had a lot of quiet, cozy areas for rest. We saw a few other families there, mostly with older kids. Our toddler did /alright/, but there were some elderly German guests that seemed entirely too put-out by his presence. Hotel isn’t kid-focused, but the staff at least were warm to the kids. We got by with English, but it’s a German hotel for German clientele. We would stay here again, for sure.

Nothing less than five stars- we loved everything about Das Rubezahl! From the moment we pulled into the parking lot we were charmed. Room: We were instantly checked in and taken to our beautiful first floor junior deluxe suite- which had a living room separate from the bedroom and a balcony with a panoramic view of the castles. It was BEAUTIFUL. No A/C, like others have said, but the temperature was mild enough to leave the door open for cool air. The bed was comfy, spa shower was hot and doubled as a wonderful clothes steamer when needed. The toilet room was separate from the shower and down the hall a ways for more privacy. Meals: We purchased the half board package so we had dinner and breakfast before checking out. Dinner was the best meal we’ve had since being in Europe. Four courses, all perfection. Drinks were also amazing. Breakfast was a buffet with everything you could want- options for some cooked things (sausage, pancakes, omelets etc). Everyone at the hotel was SO kind and English was spoken well hotel wide. We are already looking forward to coming back. Thanks for the marmalade upon check out!
