I called to say that we arrive late and the lady at the reception was extremely outgoing, friendly, helpful. She booked us a restaurant where we could eat late in the evening.
On the checkout day we could leave the car without extra cost for 2 hours longer just to explore the island. That was a nice bonus!
The only thing that we would welcome to have is a lift - we had to drag our suitcases up to the 2nd floor.
But otherwise- absolutely recommend!
I'll cut to the chase - it didn't get better. When we came back at 15:00 (freezing and wet), they finally agreed to checked us in, but informed us that check out is at 10:30 - no exceptions. Again, I don't remember the last time I stayed somewhere that refused to check us in early because "rules are rules" and then with such an early check out time the next day. Oh - and they also made us pay for everything (room + parking) up front when they finally let us check in. I have no idea why and don't remember if that has ever happened to me before in all my travel around the world.
When we woke up the next morning, we wanted to make some coffee in the room, but nope. Nothing. Not a coffee maker. Not a kettle. Nothing.
Needless to say, we will be going back to Lindau because it's an incredibly charming town on Lake Constance, but we will not be staying at this hotel ever again.
Nice location. We didn’t need a car, because it’s only ten minutes walk from train station and ten minutes walk to old town, just across the bridge.
Excellent breakfast and comfortable bed.
