Best Hotels in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

A double and a triple and we're very satisfied. The nice lady at reception gave us a map of the city and explained to us about free tours, main sights and as we visited the city we found her explanations very good

This hotel is highly recommended. Good location and good service. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 pm, after the front desk had already closed. However, the check‑in process had been perfectly arranged in advance

The hotel is very conveniently located just outside the city centre area. Easy walk for 10 minutes to Market Plaza and city centre area. The room size is good for a couple. Has Aircon which is not common in Germany

The location is excellent, 100 meters from the ancient city wall and about 500 meters from the city center. The breakfast selection is plentiful and varied. Free parking is available in the back

It was a blessing in the summer of June where temperatures are closer to 25 to 30 C. Breakfast has good spread of breads and cold cuts. The restaurant is spacious and service was good

One big plus for this Hotel is that they have free parking onsite.   Overall Hotel is good if you are looking for good experience at a not very expensive price

Our room for 3 was a good size with charmingly painted furniture and the bathroom was spacious. Shower over the bath which was not ideal for a wheelchair user but we made do

Right in centre. Friendly staff. Beautiful room. Good price. Wonderful breakfast. This hotel is run very professionally and with proud.

Our frankly travelled from New Zealand to experience true German hospitality and they are such good hosts here, very welcoming

It may not however, suit travellers who want modern in the room facilities like top notch coffee machines. The location is great, just a stone throw from the busy part of the town and Christmas market

The only thing is no rooms in village have air conditioning, so you have to have your windows open during warm summer days. The breakfast was wonderful, many varieties and all very fresh

A unique hotel in Rothenburg. There is something special inside. The location is very good and convenient to go everywhere. It is a very unique hotel.

Nice hotel complex with new kitchen and very good food

Large room with comfortable beds and nice bed linen. Great location within the old town walls, perfect with a dog. Friendly staff and fantastic breakfast.

This hotel locates at the nearest area in Altstadts from railway station. If you have large suitcase from railway station, I recommend you to stay here because you don't have to pass roads of cobblestone with suitcase

Check in was lovely and the welcoming staff was wonderful. The rooms were spacious and clean with delightful adjustable beds

The check out staff was a little unfriendly but otherwise the stay was extremely pleasant and I would highly recommend

The breakfast was ok, the service was very good. Would not stay there again, would rather look for sth else

Location is great, clean, comfortable rooms and beds. Nice size bathroom and shower. Room finish and details were excellent. The food in the restaurant can be very good The hotel / restaurant / beer garden etc

Wonderful location. Excellent breakfast. If you want A/C there is an extra fee. There is construction right next to the hotel. Hard to get to since many of the streets are one way.

+ : Welcome drinks Clean Friendly service Location Comfortable bed and pillows Delicious croissants and Weißwurst at breakfast Modern wellness area In-hotel restaurants Daily room clean Elevator Luggage storage after checkout - : Security - no peephole on the door to see through who’s there when the bell rings, simple key to open the door with no extra lock for extra safety

The fact that Germany isn't quite ready for the "energiewende" (energy transition) was evident from the fact that the charging station (with a regular 220-volt plug) indicated it would take at least 47 hours to charge the battery of my "fat German" to 80% (!)

The food in the restaurant is good, but a bit pricey - due to the location of the hotel in the center of the tourist area

It was great that they offered a breakfast box on the day of our early departure. Because we wanted to leave around 6:30 AM, it turned out that the hotel's parking and charging facilities were no longer available

I wish there were English instructions for use of the options they provided to you via the iPad app. However, if you have Netflix or App accounts you can use those and its no issue

The staff and owners were super friendly and helpful. Overall, a perfect place to stay for a weekend to visit of the old medieval city

Kind staff, lovely kitchen amenity, and wonderful accommodation

and tackle Rothenburg! Large room, great bed, fancy renovation, wonderful bathroom! Loved my room! And fancy that the restaurant has a 1 Michelin Star! Well, dinner was out of my price range, but I heard that it was amazing

This was a fabulous boutique hotel right outside the main city walls. The space was so comfortable and it was great having the tub and shower to relax with. The entertainment system was really great too

The hotel is clean and spacious. The location is also very good, very close to the city

Room was small as expected but perfectly located near everything. Breakfast was very good and lots of room for the packed house. Ate at the hotel restaurant which was very good as well. Great value and spotlessly clean

Great location within the old town great restaurant on site and food and service was excellent. The washroom in the room was very small but served the purpose.

The staff (female receptionist and male waiter) were incredibly kind and helpful! They were so accommodating. The room was large, clean and comfortable the the location is top notch

This is an excellent option if you want to spend some time in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Would definitely return and recommend this hotel

Great service, comfortable and clean room, great location. I would recommend that they put up a better frosted glass or at least a window sticker for the bathroom window

Very friendly hotel in the middle of Rothenburg. Excellent staff, nice rooms, good breakfast options.

Big room with plenty of space for 3pax. We enjoyed the breakfast - not a wide variety but they were to our taste. Underground garage was good for the snowy weather when we visited.

Very quiet and authentic German hotel. Still not used to the traditional German bedding. We are used to sharing covers. Perfect location for taking a stroll in the evening to enjoy what the city has to offer

This hotel exceeded expectations. The staff was wonderful and our room was very nice. The included breakfast was amazing

Clean, comfortable, safe, my family loved it!! Absolutely recommend this for families!!

Great location close to the main attractions but in a very quiet area. Breakfast was great with good variety. We had a suite on the top floor which was very spacious and comfortable.

The view from our room was amazing though and as we only stayed one night the bed didn’t bother us too much. Can’t fault the staff at all, good breakfast, great service, and they’re super friendly

A few curtains in the room were coming loose! However, the view outside was beautiful, and the breakfast selection was excellent! The food was delicious, and the service was very attentive!

Very impressed with hotel old world charm and facilities a valley view would have been nice, instead of internal view. Supplied breakfast was quite adequate and good choices

The location is very good as it is at the centre of the old town, just few minutes walk can reach the museum and the plaza. A very long history hotel with classic design and delicious breakfast.

Lovely hotel, really friendly staff. The only criticisms would be that the beds are rock hard and you only get one pillow each which is really soft so it’s difficult to get comfortable

I was past the hotel's latest check-in time, but the front desk had someone waiting for me

Customer service was excellent and the hotel is very convenient to all that the old town has to offer. The hotel is very charming and the restaurant was fantastic also. The room was very comfortable

Rothenburg is centrally located, which is great and offers good value for money.

Very clean and spacious! An old-style hotel, the first floor has a restaurant, which is quite nice. Downstairs is the famous landmark, Buyunlai! There's a large wine barrel at the entrance, and the hotel has blue walls.

Location is right on the Main Street. Steps from everything. Atmosphere is authentic old wood antiques. Great restaurant and breakfast. Rooms are very large and has all the modern amenities. Very helpful staff.

However, there were two things that bothered me, which are not common in Japan. The first was that there was no trash can in the bedroom, only in the shower room. The second was that there was no refrigerator

The parking was very safe, although initially a little difficult to find. The staff was incredibly friendly. The breakfast was continental and it was adequate. The location was absolutely amazing.

What a wonderful experience we had at Hotel Sonne! Although our friends, my husband and I arrived early, the husband and wife proprietors greeted us warmly, and even had a staff member take our bags up the stairs to our rooms when they were ready

Amazing hotel in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Their rooms are beautiful and very clean and they are air conditioned. They have an amazing breakfast buffet. They also have a parking garage with puffins for electric cars

Charming decor throughout the hotel. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable and cozy. Spotless bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower. Lovely amenities were provided in the room and the bath

Charming hotel in the very midst of the old town. Stayed two nights from Boxing Day onwards. Some comments: Personnel, everywhere, at the reception and dining hall, were truly lovely and friendly

Pristinely clean and well appointed. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Check in was prompt and the breakfast buffet was excellent - special touches like names on the breakfast tables were a unique personal touch

Lovely Franconian bread! Salmon in small glass jars! Cooled sekt! A friendly lady at breakfast catering offered to prepare my partner a boiled egg when they were ran out (we were the last ones just before closing time)

The mother and daughter staff who do everything took care of our every need and assured our comfort. The breakfast that we had each morning was excellent and especially true about the coffee

You will start with a wonderful breakfast and can have a great snack come lunchtime in the rear garden. The rooms are wonderful and very clean and its nice to end the day with a cold beer next to the garden

Rothenburg is a beautiful medieval city that has been modernized for today's standards. The Gerberhaus Hotel is within the walls of the city and provides all the charm you come to expect

Staff amazing and very helpful !! Close to everything and the garden was beautiful with all the lights! Clean rooms and breakfast was great!!!! Would stay here again!

This is the second time i have stayed at this hotel. The staff is wonderful and the hotel is perfect to start your walk around the walled city of Rothenburg

Lovely small place on main Street but not in most tourist heavy end of town. Great breakfast, nice staff. Amazing town.

The room is clean and tidy, a few dozen meters away from the city wall and very close to the train station. The only drawback is that the quilt is a bit thick. It is too hot when covered and cold when not covered

Because Rothenburg is an ancient city full of romance, we specially chose a B&B. The owner of the B&B is an older couple who happened to live in the attic room, which made the experience quite special!

Two nights stay This hotel is not a boutique hotel and doesn't claim to be so, its traditional and a bit quirky, but clean, comfortable, in a great location with parking as a plus

Not the fanciest or most modern property but comfortable clean rooms wIth easy walking access to the old walled Rothenburg. We had no issues and the location was perfect!

Service: Upon check-in, a lovely elderly man introduced the living environment and facilities. The elderly man and the old house complement each other beautifully

Facilities: This historic villa features spacious rooms and quaint decor. Environment: Conveniently located a few dozen meters from the outer city gate

Just note the head room when walking up some stairs here hahaha. We went and did lots of exploring of the city and the little local pub across the road had great beer and simple but amazing food

There is a pub just down the street to grab a beer or cocktail. I definitely recommend and we will stay here again next time we visit Rothenberg

Unfortunately we only chose to stay 1 night here. Will definitely stay here again

Parking just outside wall with 24 hour parking and longer if you park there after 6pm the day before 😉 Hotel was easy to find and check in was quick and simple. Room overlooked street and was nice and quiet

Near the main square so it got a little loud with the tourists. Still really nice place to stay for a couple of nights and explore the town.

Loved our trip to Rothenburg

The hotel's buffet breakfast is excellent, with delicious fried eggs. All the attractions are within walking distance. If you're planning to visit Rothenburg, I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

We had a wonderful stay at Burggartenpalais. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming. A special highlight was the lovely piano in the lobby, which they kindly allowed our son to play

The room was perfect for two adults and a teenager. It was very spacious and featured a clever layout where our son had his own separate area out of our direct line of sight, giving everyone a bit of privacy

Parking: Available for an extra fee in a very convenient lot located right behind the building. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rothenburg, especially families!

This is what you want a small hotel to be. Quaint without being primitive. Fantastic personal service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Beautiful back patio where the restaurant is.

The room was very comfortable, furnished with a chaise sofa and rocking chairs, and offered beautiful views of the garden. The location is absolutely perfect

Our time at the herrnschlösschen was the best hotel experience we’ve had in twelve countries. We appreciate how you made us feel special, and our time here will forever be a joyful memory for us

Great staff, very welcoming, room was awesome and clean, parking was not great as it was a ways offsite- but in a good walkable area. The shower was new and amazing- like standing in a waterfall

The hotel's highlight is the romantic garden, where breakfast is served in fine weather. The owner is a true culinary expert, attentive to his guests' wishes, and is very flexible, humorous, and helpful

We stayed with two kids - room was very spacious with king bed on a main floor and two beds on an upper loft. Room seems to be renovated just recently- everything is new and clean

Amazing hotel, service, food, amazing chef, waiter, everybody incredible best hotel I’ve experienced so far. Definitely will come back again, the Chev makes magic with the food.

Very quaint, all the staff particularly Ghengis were some of the best we have ever seen. For us this was our favorite stop.

The room was very clean, just a bit small, and there was no electric kettle. Breakfast was good though, with lots of food options and many varieties of cheese

The restaurant, however, was excellent, with a great ambiance and a wide variety of breakfast options. Overall, I was quite satisfied!

The room was very clean, the staff provided excellent service, and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic!

Hotel is very clean excellent service  Very friendly staff member Will stay again

The room was a bit small, but the service was great! It was clean and hygienic too!

Just stayed for one night at this B&B. The breakfast was basic, but parking was free. The bed was quite small.

The management family and their entire team are warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming — you immediately feel well looked after from the moment you arrive. The hotel itself is beautiful, full of character and charm

Excellent from the room, staff, and food. Has offsite private parking. Looking forward to our next visit!!

We also had the pleasure of enjoying the New Year’s dinner, which was absolutely delicious and very well executed — a real highlight of our stay. Overall, this is an amazing hotel set in an equally amazing environment

The town is incredible and this hotel is a very nice historic building in a prime location. The hotel staff and owners are extremely welcoming and the rooms are very nice

This hotel and the family that runs it are amazing. I stayed here a few years ago when passing through the area and opted to return with my family

Everything came together to create a memorable experience. Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful stay — we will most certainly return

Is good to get to the hotel at 1am and be able to have a drink in the bar area, the selection of beers and wine are excellent. Thanks guys! Definitely will be back

Staying here felt like a castle experience—very special and memorable. The breakfast was excellent, featuring locally sourced food such as fresh bread and honey, which we really enjoyed

This is such a unique experience. The building is stunning, the rooms are really clean and beautiful. I like that they didn't totally modernize the rooms. The breakfast was amazing and everyone was really friendly

However, check‑in and check‑out were slow, as there was only one staff member on duty. At check‑in, the staff was handling a phone enquiry and I had to wait about 10-15 minutes

The hotel is close to the old town, but access requires using stairs, so it may not be suitable for guests with mobility or accessibility needs

Quite diferent from other hotels, but indeed very good. If you want some very god room, exelent cleaning (medium breakfest) and an unic interour, this is the place.

We can't say enough good things about this hotel. The only downfall is the street noise, but when you're located on the main area of the town, you have to expect that a bit

What a tremendous place to stay! Our stay began with a warm welcome from Otto, the 87-year-old gentleman who runs the front desk

Steps away from everything & located on the medieval wall. A special note to the charming inn keeper & the decadent breakfast. Stay here you will not be disappointed!

He is fluent in several languages, and worked with us as we spoke slow and basic German by speaking English to help get us situated

They serve breakfast each day, which included eggs, a buffet with sandwich stuff, fruit, granola, and a variety of drinks and coffee

Family owned boutique hotel in the old town of Rothenburg. The service by the owner Otto is legendary and very accommodating. The house is packed with history similar to the whole town

Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this hotel; it was a perfect base for exploring this stunning town. The location could not have been better

The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was lovely. The second treat of our stay was the breakfast. It featured homemade everything, a fantastic variety, and, again, the staff and service did not disappoint

When the GPS led us up a small, narrow alley, we were sure we were lost! However, once we were parked and walked over, the minor initial confusion was instantly forgotten thanks to the hotel staff

Our room itself was beautiful—large, perfectly clean, and flawless. We chose to eat dinner at the hotel's restaurant, and it was as perfect as the hotel room, the staff, and the location

The staff and service were consistently exceptional from start to finish. The check-in process was quick, efficient, and genuinely friendly. We were made to feel welcome immediately

While the central location is a massive advantage, I do want to offer a word of advice on arrival: finding the designated parking lot was a bit difficult
