There are a few things that I feel are important to know about this hotel. There is no on-site parking. You need to drive through tight quarters to drop off luggage or haul the luggage through cobblestone streets. This is a bare bones hotel. There wasn't even bottled water in the room. Beds were hard and the pillows were even worse. To add to the challenges, there was a shelf directly above the bed that we both bumped our heads on. Towels are thread bare and the breakfast poor. That said, staff was friendly and the location offers easy access to the Christmas markets. I would recommend packing your own shampoo and conditioner. We were also given a physical key which posed some challenges as we all had to share the one key and we almost forgot to lock ourselves inside at night. Overall, we woke up with sore necks and backs. The furniture desperately needs to be updated.

Position is perfect to visit Rothenburg, brakfast is pretty ok, parking is not adjacent to the building but not far away. Friendly staff.

Great survive the staff held on to our bags while we parked our car and explored. Rooms are clean but simple. Location is awesome and breakfast is fantastic.

Great hosts. Our frankly travelled from New Zealand to experience true German hospitality and they are such good hosts here, very welcoming.l. The hotel is true German style and right in the walls of the old town so in the heart of it all. Really nice walking around esp once the day trippers have gone. The family room is perfect for family with 2 kids, super large room with lots of space. We felt very welcomed..danke.

Old style German hotel in a magical medieval village. We were able to carefully drive to the front of the hotel and unload, and the lovely hotel attendant directed us personally to a parking spot behind the hotel since we had a wheelchair. The hotel has an elevator. Our room for 3 was a good size with charmingly painted furniture and the bathroom was spacious. Shower over the bath which was not ideal for a wheelchair user but we made do. We had a view out the back of the hotel and could see it snowing. Breakfast was lovely and we also had dinner at the hotel one night and my meal was delicious. All the staff we encountered from dining and from front desk were genuinely nice and not just doing a job. Location can’t be beat. You are right in the old town. Yes it’s a little old fashioned at the hotel but isn’t that what you want in a medieval village? It’s part of the experience.

We booked the family room and it was large and comfortable. We quite like the rustic look of the room, which suited the overall ambience of the hotel and town. It may not however, suit travellers who want modern in the room facilities like top notch coffee machines.
The location is great, just a stone throw from the busy part of the town and Christmas market.
We also had a lovely dinner. The roast pork was fantastic. Overall, it was one of the better food we had during our trip in Germany.

During my stay at Hotel Tilman Riemenschneider in Rothenburg, I was disappointed by the quaint yet uncomfortable rooms. The decor, while charming, felt outdated and lacked basic comforts, making it hard to relax. Additionally, the dinner served at their restaurant was tasteless and uninspired, failing to capture the essence of local cuisine. In my opinion and experience, I would not recommend it to fellow travellers seeking a pleasant stay.

Great location in the middle of everything. You can walk entire village from here and see the many sites. The front desk spoke English and was very accommodating. The room was nice, good size. The only thing is no rooms in village have air conditioning, so you have to have your windows open during warm summer days. The breakfast was wonderful, many varieties and all very fresh. Loved this place and will come back.
