Hotel BurgGartenpalais in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

No wishes went unfulfilled. After being contacted beforehand and informed that we could take a suggested route due to minor construction, we found ample, shady parking in the hotel's own car park. The warm and attentive welcome made us feel comfortable from the very first minute. In the charming garden with its lovely terrace, we were informed about the breakfast procedures during Covid-19 and were able to note any requests on an order form. Our family room (24) was a spacious suite with windows facing three directions, offering views over the rooftops to the outside. Besides the very bright, modernized bathroom, the entrance area, the desk area, and the two large bedrooms with their antique furnishings and decor were a truly special experience. I felt like royalty... The beds (with a selection of pillows) were wonderfully comfortable, and I slept like a log. Everything needed to make coffee or tea was discreetly provided. We enjoyed excellent dinners in the hotel's restaurant, or rather, on the terrace. Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere completed the experience. The pre-ordered, personalized breakfast was impressive and the icing on the cake. This hotel is a fantastic place to feel completely at ease. I will gladly return.

Not only is Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber the most perfect city I have every visited, the wonderful people at Hotel BurgGartenpalais were equally exceptional. This property is a boutique hotel to the max. Charming lobby, great cafe, amazing garden. We booked the Chalet and I am glad we did. We had 6 of us travelling (2 adults and 4 kids) and we fit in the chalet easily. It felt like we were in our own cottage on the property. And we were for the first night. The second night, they put someone in the loft above the chalet and our new visitors were walking the floor very early.

I hope to return many more times to Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber and to Hotel BurgGartenpalais. I miss it already.

​We had a wonderful stay at Burggartenpalais. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming. A special highlight was the lovely piano in the lobby, which they kindly allowed our son to play.

​The room was perfect for two adults and a teenager. It was very spacious and featured a clever layout where our son had his own separate area out of our direct line of sight, giving everyone a bit of privacy. The room was very comfortable, furnished with a chaise sofa and rocking chairs, and offered beautiful views of the garden.

​The location is absolutely perfect. It is just a short walk to the Christmas Museum, the Medieval Crime Museum, and all the popular photography spots. Most importantly, it is only steps away from the center square where the Night Watchman tour begins.

​Breakfast: A typical, high-quality regional spread of breads, cheeses, and meats. They also offered delicious cooked-to-order eggs.

​Parking: Available for an extra fee in a very convenient lot located right behind the building.

​Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rothenburg, especially families!

Location was stellar, the staff were all very friendly. The Rooms were ok, but we had an issue with the shower design. The shower is only covered by a half plane of glass and the lip of the floor is not tall enough to prevent water from flooding the bathroom no matter what we did. Clearly not just an us problem as the bottom of the bathroom door was moldy looking with clear water damage from water coming out of the shower.

The hotel was beautiful - a seamless marriage of historic setting and modern convenience. The location is ideal, the staff courteous and professional, we had a wonderful time here!

Beautiful charming guest house style hotel in a fairytale setting. Comfortable room with beautiful furnishings. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice included breakfast as well. Should we find ourselves in Rothenburg ob der Tauber again this would be our hotel of choice!

The hotel is located in Heidelberg's Old Town, a short walk from the central square and Christmas shops, and within walking distance of all major attractions. The host, an elderly gentleman, is very welcoming and provides various tourist information. The hotel also has its own parking lot in the backyard, making it very convenient for those traveling by car.

Great old fashioned hotel in Rothenberg. Helpful friendly staff, incredible included breakfast, a bar and outdoor garden. The bathrooms are updated and impressive. Recommended wholeheartedly.
