High levels of noise, and the sheets/pillows were quite uncomfortable. There was no way to reduce the temperature of the room, and the room got uncomfortably warm and stuffy unless you opened the window (which would then allow the loud drunken screeches of the tourists on the street to serenade you).

The WiFi was unprotected (no password) and had abysmal speeds. There was no lock on the inside of the room (there is a little button on the inside that does seemingly nothing) or any ability to indicate "Do not disturb". The individual doing housekeeping opened my door while simultaneously knocking as I was still in bed and trying to sleep, and left me feeling very exposed and uncomfortable. The entrance to the hotel is quite short, and it's very easy to hit your head on trying to enter/leave. There is no elevator, and bringing luggage up multiple flights of stairs is required.

The shower had hot water and was refreshing, and the hotel itself is located in a good spot (aside from the very loud noises coming from the street). The options for food and drink around the hotel are myriad.

The worst stay of our entire trip. Avoid at all costs , there is no elevator and you have to carry luggage to all the floors. There is no support no one available. The coffee shop is disconnected from the hotel. I’m glad we left early

Unfortunately we only chose to stay 1 night here. But when we travel next time. Will definitely stay here again.
Location was great. Easy walk to all the sights. Parking just outside wall with 24 hour parking and longer if you park there after 6pm the day before 😉

Hotel was easy to find and check in was quick and simple. Room overlooked street and was nice and quiet. Just note the head room when walking up some stairs here hahaha.

We went and did lots of exploring of the city and the little local pub across the road had great beer and simple but amazing food.

Booked this through concur for work. Regretted booking two nights in advance and wish I had just booked one. However, I knew I'd be too tired to drive the two hours back to Frankfurt after a long work day with some jet lag. It's a place to sleep and shower, but that's it. Don't expect anything else. Toiletries consisted of two small bar soaps and two packets of hair & body soap. The shower was small, and there was no shelf in the shower to put your soaps on. No water provided, but at least my heat worked. Expect to drag your luggage upstairs, so hope your room isn't further up. Didn't feel that safe as a solo female traveler as anyone could enter the building and be right outside your door. Not worth the price. This experience led me to book a global chain hotel in Frankfurt that I knew I could trust for the security and amenities even though it was more expensive.

It's a decent location in a cute town. Parking is a hit or miss. No reliable wifi, as the hotel didn't provide any, so if the city wifi was out, you're SOL.

Won't return.

We brought our tour group of 19 people to the Hotel Gerberhaus in mid-August 2021 on the first night of our trip. We received such a warm and friendly welcome that it helped ease all our fears of COVID restrictions and concerns. The hotel was very comfortable with country-style rooms and a charming garden courtyard. It is very close to the heart of Rothenburg, but is also quiet and secluded at night. It was easily accessed from the P1 parking lot just outside the wall. Breakfast was great with a large variety of classic German choices, and everything had the feeling we were staying at our German grandmother's house! I'd highly recommend the Gerberhaus for anyone looking to experience a cozy stay within the walls of this magical town.

Our family stayed at the Hotel Gerberhaus July 16 -18, 2019. It was, without question, an outstanding stay! Our family stayed in the family apartment. It exceeded our expectations! I really wish I remembered the name of the young gentleman who took care of our needs.
He was extremely polite and helpful during our stay.
The location was perfect. The hotel is located a two minute walk from one of the most photographed clock tower in Germany! We were able to park right outside the hotel for free at night.
The breakfast was very good and tasty each morning. We enjoyed the coffee in the morning and drinks in the courtyard in the evenings.
Our only regret was we wished we should of booked more than two nights at this outstanding hotel!

Great location. Tidy room with a spacious bathroom. Good breakfast buffet in the morning. Nice enclosed garden area for having tea or cocktails. On a main street, but not in the busiest area so it is quiet. Easy walk to everywhere. Only negative was that there was a 1" step up from the bathroom to the bedroom with a somewhat sharp edge. It was a toe killer.
