Hotel Schwansee in Schwangau

Not recommended. Unfriendly owner. Bad service. Bad facilities.
I never had such a bad experience with any accommodation before and I do travel a lot!! The owner is sooo unfriendly and does not understand what customer service is although he is working in the hotel industry.
Service is really bad and facilities are not up to standard. It is written that the hotel has wifi but in fact there was no wifi during the time I was there.
I do not recommend this place at all. If you are looking for a hotel close to Neuschwanstein castle, you can find many other hotels in the area which I am sure have better personnel and better facilities.

So there's a bedroom available and it's clean. There you have it. If that's what you're looking for and it's worth the price you've been quoted, look no further.

For me, this was one of the worst value-for-money stays I've ever had. On a relatively luxurious tour of south Germany and into Italy, it ended up being the most expensive and very much the worst place of all.

None there on arrival (I can live with that, but then don't give us check-in-by times), restaurant and bar shut off (Friday evening), etc. It's a hostel. Yes, breakfast was available in the morning, but the very simplest you could ask for.

This place is just exploitative, based on the never ending stream of Japanese and other tourists to the castle. It doesn't matter what the TripAdvisor rating, or the price charged, people will still come because of the castle.

My advice is to stay somewhere else, possibly much further away, and make the castle a carefully planned visit.
