Interesting concept, appealing ambiance – the dark tones take some getting used to, but nothing that would deter us from a return visit. What we believe urgently needs improvement, however, is the attitude of the staff towards their actual employer: the guest. We weren't greeted with a "Good evening" or "Good morning" either at check-in or check-out. That evening, we were greeted by a lady at the reception desk who seemed rather bored, as if she'd been transferred on punishment, and who didn't give off a particularly well-groomed impression. The next morning, a similar picture emerged: Another employee was so busy with her cell phone and laptop that neither a greeting nor eye contact was possible. A smile? Apparently not included in the price. In the end, despite the architectural quality, the overall experience was unfortunately not a truly positive one.

Please avoid this hotel! I’ll be short… reception lady when we’ve checked in on 10th of August was rude and we felt her discriminatory with us as Easter Europeans ;my Master Card used in whole Germany and Austria during our holiday was rejected; we were accomodated in the historic building and it was a nightmare: rooms dirty ( we had two, one for our daughter) , the sheets were in an uncertain color , under one pillow sheet ( very large comparing with pillow sizes) we found a night butterfly dead since some time, half day we did not had hot water due to a mistake of a employee . No specialized personnel to help/solve. They tried by video call with the breakfast personnel ( one nice girl) to solve the plumbing issue.Live from under the bathroom sink… Incredible! In the room was very hot (28-30 degrees) and it was fitted just with a very noisy fan ( could not slept with this on). The room was a total kitsch with a plastic- glass bathroom in the middle of the room fitted with an oudated whirpool tube …. A decent shower ? Real challange! I will hardly consider this room a 2 stars . Forgot to mention that the paid tariff was for minimum 5 stars superior due to booking during Gaubudenvolkfest ( excellent festival!!!). For almost four hundreds euros /night ( just for our room) we paid also the hotel parking 10 euros/ day.No free coffee or free water in the rooms. Unbeliavable! And I could continue…It was the worst and most expensive accomodation in years for the ‘services’ provided. If somebody will insist to book at Villa Boutique, at least to refuse the rooms in the historical building. Maybe main building is okay… I’ m wondering what are the german standards giving 4 stars to a 2 stars ,at best, building/ hotel? Thank you all for reading!

My wife and I stayed for two nights in one of the four penthouse suites (Villa Boutique Suite). These are located in the new extension. Check-in was friendly; we were even able to check in two hours early, and robes and slippers were provided in our room. All I can say about the suite is that it is incredibly stylish and modern. It was about 30 degrees Celsius outside both days, but the air conditioning still did a great job. We were able to sleep without breaking a sweat. Incidentally, it was also the first hotel in Straubing where we didn't have any subtenants (spiders) in our suite. This was particularly important to us, and a big compliment to the housekeeping team for that. The building has its own underground parking garage, which we could use for 15 euros a night. Given the high outside temperatures, it was ideal for us. The hotel's location was also perfect for us. It was five minutes from the city center, and the train station is just around the corner. However, it still wasn't quite five stars. The only negative was that the refrigerator in our suite didn't work. It was set to maximum, but the drinks were warm. The glass door to the restroom also didn't provide enough privacy (very thinly soundproof). But so far, no hotel in Germany has been able to satisfy us. We didn't have breakfast, but we did research the buffet. Unfortunately, they don't serve scrambled eggs; only on request and when it's not too busy. Without scrambled eggs, it's not a proper breakfast for us. Nevertheless, we will check in there again on our next visit to Straubing, as it still impressed us the most.

Could once again be brought up to modern technical standards, but very nice staff. The room in the direction of the train station are not recommended, however, in the summer, definitely!

Very courteous staff, class Breakfast, clean rooms... my girlfriend and I have us felt very comfortable! The location is very good: downtown, Restaurants and train station are in the immediate vicinity. Nevertheless, it is very quiet, so you can easily sleep in. Free covered Parking are also available. We can recommend this Hotel only!
