Motel One Berlin - Alexanderplatz in Berlin

We’re currently staying here and are only on our second night out of three, but we felt we had to write a review already because we’ve been so pleased with our stay so far.

The location couldn’t be better — being right by Alexanderplatz makes it incredibly convenient for exploring Berlin. There are great transport links just steps away, and plenty of shops, restaurants, and attractions nearby. It’s the perfect base for getting around the city.

What has really stood out to us, though, is the staff. Every single person we’ve interacted with has been so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They’ve made us feel genuinely looked after and have been more than happy to help with any questions or recommendations.

Even though we still have another night to go, our experience so far has been excellent. The combination of such a great location and such kind, attentive staff has already made our trip even better. We’re really enjoying our stay and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Berlin.

Excellent location. Register with them on their website for a 10% discount and complimentary bottle of water. Rooms are spotless. Room staff are eager to clean and so efficient. Reception all speak very good English which is so helpful if your German is limited. Didn't have breakfast here this time but there are lots of choices if you're up early enough. Make sure you try the sweets at reception in the large glass jar. They are one of the small touches that make my stay here so delightful. You couldn't get a better location for staying at Alexanderplatz.

Nice hotel! Our room was clean and comfortable with an amazing view! The staff really friendly and welcoming. We loved the rooftop bar at 18 floor very relaxing and with a nice view.

Extremely good value for money, not huge rooms but spacious enough.

Staff were incredibly attentive during stay, and the on site bars were, in fact, cheaper than out and about. Good selection too, and the roof top bar is a nice touch!

Absolutely would recommend and I’ll look at Motel one more in the future.

Great value for money, great view, great location (I had a room on the 17th floor overlooking the TV tower). Friendly staff that speaks English. Room was quiet at night. Comfortable bed for one person, but for two people it would be a bit too small. In general the room seems too small for two people: there's only one seat, and there's definitely no room for two suitcases either. The shower had the annoying habit of getting really hot for a second, every 30 seconds or so.

Everything else is basic. No mini fridge, no closet space, no water boiler or coffee machine, no desk, etc. But I was fine with that, because of the very reasonable price, and the location. I would definitely come back.

The hotel was very clean, and the soundproofing was good; even during the marathon, there was minimal noise. Check-in was arranged for me arriving early at noon, and the service was good. However, there are usually only two staff members at the front desk, so you might have to wait a while if you need assistance checking in or out. Check-out is very convenient; you can simply leave your card in the box at the front desk. It's quite close to Alexanderplatz station, and there's a convenience store inside the station where you can buy water, although the hotel doesn't provide free drinking water. The location is convenient; it's a bit of a walk to the East Gallery bus, but transportation to other attractions is quick, and you don't need to transfer to get to the airport. There are plenty of restaurants nearby; several Asian restaurants and even more cafes are within a ten-minute walk. The only place to avoid is the McDonald's in Alexanderplatz—the selection is limited, it's expensive, and the food is terrible. There are no seats, so you have to order takeout. Don't fall for that McDonald's! 🕳️
