Amaya Motel in Berlin

When I tried to check in at around 5:00 PM, a guest was already waiting in front of the locked door. No one answered the bell, and no one answered the phone number provided. I was starting to think it was a fake hotel.

The room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, and the windows couldn't be opened. This was fixed, but the smell remained.

Recommendation: The hotels nearby are worth the money; this one definitely isn't. Another woman said she waited in front of the locked door for over an hour.

Such a bad place, because we got to check in at 11 pm after calling and they said 11 pm was fine and that they were gonna be there. We came at 11pm but no one was there.
We got to walk to the nearby hotel and had to pay for a night there.
We came to Amaya Motel the next day to get the money back after such a treatment there. They said we were gonna get money back for 1 night, since we paid another place. It’s now 2-3 weeks ago and I haven’t got my money back, which means they lied.
I can’t recommend this place + they were really rude to my friend and I! We had such a bad experience there.

The hotel didn't respond when I told them I might be late for check-in. They did not leave a note or the room key. They then canceled my reservation without giving any reason. The guy was very dishonest and rude.

After 14 hours flight we wanted to have 1 night in Berlin to rest, however we didn't knew that after time of 10 PM we'll have no accommodation. We've made a reservation in advance few months earlier, paid for the room and requested check-in after 10 PM (two days before), because the arrival of our flight was at 11 PM, however the request was rejected. The day of arrival we've called the motel, but the man who responded was very impolite. He said that there'll be no employee to check us in and that they are working in these strictly indicated time shifts (indicated in a message in German) since nine years and there was never an issue (which is strange, all the guests are so punctual?). He also refused the refund and when my partner started to beg him to make an exception, he mocked us via phone. When we arrived it was too late and difficult to find a new accommodation and we eventually stayed almost whole night at the waiting room at the airport.
