I had a really nice stay! The hotel looks a bit dated but is still comfortable. The staff is friendly and the breakfast while simple, had a lot of choices. The window was open in my room when I checked in, so while the air in the room was fresh, it was cold since it was an evening in February. I had to turn on the radiator in the bathroom to try to warm up the room.
The location is convenient, next to the u-bahn, multiple grocery stores and the huxley neue welt. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this area if you’re a tourist as it has a bad reputation and isn’t near any touristic attractions but if like me you have plans there then definitely book a room at this hotel. I know I’ll be back if I need to go to a concert there again.

We enjoyed 5 night stay at the Hotel Ludwig van Beethoven during our recent vacation in Berlin. This little hotel is just a real gem! We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The room was clean and spotless, the breakfast buffet was one of the best you'll find in Germany for an inexpensive hotel, and the staff were friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel and will stay there again on our next visit to Berlin!

The location for the music gig I was attending, perfect for places to eat.
The room was large and very clean,very quiet and staff were helpful and professional.
As far as European hotels this stood out as one of the better ones

Staff were really friendly. Slightly further out from the main locations than I anticipated but a metro just 200 metres away.

very accessible from Hauptbahnhof Hamburg. The concert venues are within walking distance. This hotel is just on the edge of the Reeperbahn strip and is quiet. the Bus stops are very close to the front door.

Good location. Close to metro. Great breakfast. The beds were tiny, though. I nearly fell off during my sleep. I could also hear everything from adjacent rooms. Not particularly comfortable, but fine for my short stay.

I arrived for check in about 8pm. The staff were very friendly. There is a small but perfectly functional bar. I was very impressed with the array of art work on display around the hotel. The room had everything I expected for a room of this class. It was clean and comfortable.
The breakfast was the big selling point for me. I’ve had far worse breakfasts in far more expensive hotels!
All the bases covered. Cereals, hot option (really good scrambled eggs!), pastries & cookies, cold meats, cheeses, fruit.
I went to Berlin for an event at the Huxley’s Neue Welt. The hotel is opposite the venue, and very easy to access on the U-Bahn.
I intend to return to Berlin and will certainly look to stay at the same hotel.

Fine for the Area, but Could Be Better
The overall experience was average. The breakfast was very good, which I appreciated. However, I had booked a double bed but was given a single instead. Also, the room was not cleaned after my first day. I don’t mind that, but at least I could have been asked. While these details were disappointing, the stay was acceptable. If you must be in this area, the hotel is fine, but if not, I would suggest looking at other options.

Like MOST of the staff. Many seemed stressed out or mad. GREAT breakfast. No trash cans to throw away trash--except the room. ALWAYS need strong lights. Great shower. Noisy fans. Will be back!
