I stayed here 5 years ago and had a great experience. This time was not so good because work was being conducted on the roof above my room to install solar panels. I changed rooms but the crane still started early in the morning so woke me up early. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Maria on the bar was extremely nice and mixed a great gin and tonic. Burger night on Tuesday was good too.

Find somewhere else to stay
Terrible customer service, from the front desk to the restaurant. I had one of the „nicer rooms“ views to the river with stains in the carpet and curtains. Everything is dated.

I recently stayed at the Welcome hotel in Wesel and was very frustrated with the experience. First off, the person that checked us in was very rude and just not welcoming at all. She made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by checking in. She also yelled at me because my children used the elevator to get drinks from the second floor vending machine. Every time I went up to the front desk and she was there she was not friendly. The room we stayed in the furniture was very dirty. The chairs were gross and covered in stains. In fact the entire room had stains through out. I have attached pictures. Additionally, the lock to our front door stopped working and maintenance had to work on it for three hours which was a huge inconvenience while on vacation. One of the cleaning ladies was also very rude. We were in town to see my elderly 93 year old grandmother and our stay at the Wesel hotel was far from perfect. I will say however that there were a few friendly folks that worked the bar and during breakfast.
The only plus to this hotel was the location on the Rhine river. But overall I would not recommend this hotel to others.

We enjoyed our stay in a spacious, modern and newly-furnished room on level three - it was clean, comfortable and perfect for our needs. The staff serving dinner were friendly, and the hotel also helped us store our bicycles in a safe place indoors during our stay. It's worth noting that the sauna is €5 extra, but that included slippers, a bathrobe and a bottle of water, so I thought it was fair. Overall, we had a good stay and would be happy to return.

Silverfish in the bathroom, it wasn't the cleanest - shabby carpeting and dirt marks around one of the wall paintings. While it was nice to have a large room and balcony, with no kitchen utensils (you have to ask front desk for them) and "green" housekeeping (i.e. they don't want to pay for housekeepers or for new toilet rolls/soap refills) I don't think it justifies the price.

Outside soundproofing is good but inside not good. Kept awake by yelling children and thudding from above.

The staff were lovely and breakfast was good, I think the hotel chain could do better though.

Very friendly staff.
Bad points:
No aircon in the room! Very,very noisy outside hotel. Every 10min cargo ships pass hotel all night ! No any chance to sleep.
