Lito Hotel in Ixia

Hotel needs updating. No disabled access. Breakfast was ok. The beach was just across a very busy road, very pebbly and not very clean. On the plus side the location was great. Lots of really good restaurants within walking distance and 10 mins from Rhodes town

This hotel is a budget option with wonderful staff and sits in an excellent position on the Ixia coast. The rooms was clean, beds changed daily, fresh towels and great sea views. The downside Awful food stayed on a BB basis would not recommend anymore than that sadly. Some awful guests who were noisy, slamming doors shouting in the early hours and one large family were just awful took their child to the toilet in the flower bed right outside the dining room window when the toilet was 20 metres away 🙈 not what I would want to see again.

We stayed in July for two weeks all inclusive. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to a sea view room. The room was okay but had 3 beds squeezed in, one wardrobe with 6 hangers and two drawers so 2 of us had nowhere to unpack. After 2 days we were asked to move rooms and were given a family room which was at the back but much bigger so we could finally all unpack properly. If there are more than 2 of you definitely pay for a family room. Room was cleaned daily and couldn’t fault the cleaners. Pool area was lovely and no problem ever getting a sunbed. As we went all inclusive we ate at the hotel to begin with, breakfast was the usual stuff, nothing cooked fresh though. Lunch and dinner was the same, every single day, every, single, day so we ate out a lot in the evenings just to get some variety. Kids offerings were spaghetti bolognese or chips and nothing else, every single day. Adults had chicken, pork, fish, potatoes and veg every day, twice a day. The snack bar was a joke, leftover ham and cheese rolls and stone cold chips in the morning and leftover wraps from lunch in the afternoon, occasionally covered in ants. Very, very poor food. The drinks in the day were okay, soft drinks, wine or beer but the wine was seriously bad. There is a nice supermarket next door so we bought rolls etc from there for our daughter. Pool was nice and clean. The lady that ran the bar in the day was proper miserable but the evening barman was great. The evening drinks were much better with some lovely cocktails and a much more friendly staff. Entertainment is 3 nights a week, a group who were good, karaoke which was painful as no one apart from our table got up and tried to sing and Greek dancers. There are some lovely tavernas a few minutes walk away which were great food and prices. Definitely a budget hotel and I would go back but definitely not all inclusive. Hotel very tired and a bit shabby but you get what you pay for. Beds were comfy and cleaned daily, aircon barely worked. Nothing there for kids apart from the pool. We did the Symi boat trip which was really good and the Lindos 7 springs coach trip was brilliant ( definitely take water shoes). We booked trips through ‘holiday essentials’ who have an office about 10 mins walk left out of the hotel as they were much cheaper than the reps. We didn’t go to Rhodes town as we were there in a heatwave and it was just too hot. Don’t get me wrong, we had a great stay and the people we met made it but please don’t go all inclusive. B and B maybe at best and if there’s more than two of you, go for a family room or you’ll be living out of your suitcase.

Food: the same pork, chicken and fish each day with one local dish (although this may just be the veg side dish), spaghetti bolognese and chips lunch and dinner, and the same two puddings on rotation. The same ham rolls by the pool each lunchtime. No allergens listed and often the food wasn’t labelled at all. All inclusive ends the morning of your last day, regardless of flight time. No bottled water available. Food was nice and you won’t starve, but it did get boring. Drinks: cocktails only available for a few hours in the evening and you get constantly shouted at by the staff about bringing your glasses back. You can only have one drink at a time - so no soft drink with a wine or ordering for your party at the same time. Rooms: very noisy, dated and no plugs by a mirror. Beds made and floors mopped each day, but the bathroom not cleaned during our stay and no dusting etc done. Towels not always replaced so some chasing required. Staff: dining staff were lovely and very attentive, some bar staff were lovely but some acted like you were an inconvenience to them. Pool: not used by many people at all, as it is so cold. You will always find a sun lounger, but these start to be put away by 5pm as the pool gets closed off. Free loungers on the lovely beach opposite.
