Bali Star Resort Hotel, established in 1991 and renovated in 2010, offers a peaceful stay in Balion’s picturesque Milopotamos area. The hotel features 62 rooms across a three-story building with one elevator, presenting a range of room types from Economy to Deluxe Suites, including options with private pools and sea views. Guests can enjoy direct access to a 30-meter public sandy beach just 30 meters from the hotel, with sand entry into the sea. The property has a freshwater pool with complimentary sun loungers and umbrellas. Families benefit from a children’s pool, playground, and kid-friendly amenities such as high chairs and cribs available on request at no extra cost. The hotel’s onsite restaurant with a large covered veranda serves fresh meals, and the central bar provides a relaxing atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi and parking are available. Location

Bali Star Resort Hotel is located in the seaside village of Milopotamos within Balion, 35 kilometers from Heraklion’s Nikos Kazantzakis Airport and 30 kilometers from Rethymno city. The hotel sits just 30 meters from the public sandy Varkotopos beach, which spans 80 meters along the shore. A bus stop on the main road is about 1.5 kilometers away, while a supermarket and pharmacy are conveniently located only 50 meters from the hotel entrance. The hotel provides free parking and lies within walking distance of several local shops and the ‘Mambo’ restaurant, praised by guests. For ATM services, the nearest cash machine is 400 meters from the hotel.

Tips

Book well in advance if you want a room with a private pool or sea view, as these are popular and sometimes subject to availability.
Bring your own beach towels or plan for rental costs since the hotel charges for beach towel use and exchange.

Our stay was 7 nights and the room number we stayed in was 203. From the moment we checked in we were greeted by a friendly, hospitable, prompt and helpful staff. We had nothing to complain about this wonderful hotel. Our room was always cleaned, the food at the restaurant was good and fresh. As for the staff, only words of praise. Both the staff at the restaurant, at the bar and at the reception were always smiling, friendly, hospitable and attentive!

A very nice hotel ,în perfect position ,near the beach and many shops.The personal is very attentive,the rooms are clean,the food is very nice and always fresh,plenty of choices.We also loved the Mambo restaurant and their beach and comfortable sunbeds.We would come back to Bali Star anytime!

Hotel Review: I’m glad others had a good experience here, but unfortunately mine was not and I do not recommend this place. From the start, the photos on Booking did not reflect reality – meals are served in a different location than the one shown in the pictures. When we arrived, we were told how “lucky” we were to get a sea-view room. Unfortunately, the room was small and dirty, even though they claimed it had just been cleaned. The next day we had to speak with the receptionist, whose attitude was far from welcoming. I showed her the photo of what I had booked and explained that this is what I expected to receive. We were eventually given another room, but again the cleanliness was questionable (maybe they have different standards). On the positive side, the bar staff were very friendly and always smiling. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel if you value cleanliness and honesty. The photos and reviews do not reflect the real experience.

It was a great experience, even this, I cannot give more than 4 stars. Bali village is beautifull, the hotel also, spacious rooms, almost daily cleaning room, good food, but repetitive. The 3 persons family room does now have a wardrobe, and if you stay for 7 night, its necessary. The hotel is very nice, the pool is very nice, there is a kids pool also. The bar is opened more than enough. I recomend this for a family.

Well what can I say about the Bali Diamond. Wow, best hotel we have ever stayed in Europe. Management and staff so welcoming and helpful. Our beautiful bedroom was huge, modern and so well layed out. So nice to sleep in such a comfy and quiet room. The hotel is maintained to a high standard. We had a fabulous balcony overlooking the mountains and beach.
The breakfast ladies were lovely and so hard working, breakfast was delicious and different everyday.
The swimming pool was crystal clear and clean, plus the right temperature.
Our last day was spent by the pool, as we couldn't keep our room. However this wasn't an issue as there was a huge shower/changing room on the pool floor we could use at the end of the day.
Will we be returning? - yes of course we will. Stunning and highly recommend.

Great beach resort with restaurants and local shops on your doorstep. The breakfast was varied and good quality. Ideal if you don't intend to travel around, otherwise you'll need a car rental (plenty of free parking). Good quality room size. I'd stay here again.

This is the best hotel I’ve ever visited. Everything is amazing. We arrived at 6:00 AM and personnel gave us a room at 9:00 AM, but usually it’s after 2:00 PM. They also gave us better room than we booked. Breakfasts were delicious! And I would like to say thank you to every person who works here. Everyone is so kind and friendly. Only good emotions. I made a little present for hotel - book with small kind message for every guest ;)

A Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended!

We had such a lovely time at Bali Star Resort! The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming – true people of the heart. We came with our 8-month-old baby and were so touched by how child-friendly and caring everyone was.

To our surprise, we even received an upgrade to a room with a private pool, which made our stay extra special.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the beach just a short walk away – clean, relaxing, and perfect for families.

A big thank you to everyone at Bali Star Resort for making us feel so at home. We truly appreciate your warmth and hospitality. We hope to come back one day!

A perfect blend of resort level services and diversity of rooms but with a boutique touch. We enjoyed every second of our stay here. The rooms are brand new after a redecoration and look very good. The food was a very good surprise. Both breakfast and dinner were diverse and all dishes were very good. Ingredients are very fresh and you can taste that. We ate so much fruits due to this. We will come back for sure.
