We had a great stay at the Pilot Beach Resort. We had a family room, which was very spacious and had a separate kids room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The beach was just wonderful and easy to reach and I really appreciated that there was a life guard , since some days there were quite some waves (in the fun way). There were always enough sun chairs both at the pool and the beach! A total recommendation if you look for a family vacation!

Not sure what to say except very dissatisfied and disappointed with Pilot Beach . First of all the hotel tax had rocketed in price as we were there for 10 nights as well set us back about €180 and then it Started first when arrived we had requested when we booked last year when we left and got back home to be around the same pool and the same rooms if possible with a superior booked and paid for a year in advance. When we arrived we noticed were put in the other side of the hotel near the beach. We thought must be nice rooms over there so didn’t say anything and when we arrived it was like we had just been dumped on the outskirts of the complex and the room was small with one small put up bed for my daughter that she couldn’t fit in and 2 singles pushed together. We were sure this was not a superior room that was paid for the rooms was outdated and seemed like they had just been sort of had a lick of paint. On the door as you went in the room it smells of sewage and the patio was no visible view on a bottom floor and where no grass had been grown or cut and sun loungers just dotted around. So we went back and we explained to the receptionist and the only nice reception person was the gentleman all the others talked like they didn’t have time for you or you was stupid. Long story but there wasn’t a room spare (but were given the choice of another room what was worse said it wasn’t excepting it as we had paid for a superior)till the next day so we couldn’t unpack and had to stay in that room until the next morning after breakfast so we called again at reception and was told to call after lunch from our room so we went back to the room at lunch to call reception and to our surprise the door was wide open and all our things had gone only the maid was there said they had taken to the new room and to go reception. Then realised all our valuables were still in the safe with the door open. !! So eventually got our new room which was a superior what we had paid for and then had been saving our change in a ash tray to give to our usual maid when we left and one day when I usual maid it was her day off the other maid must have taken all the money off the top and moved all our things to get to the money spoke to the manger he said the maid thought it was for her and give us complimented tickets for the Greek night at the restaurant so glad I didn’t pay as was put at the front of the stage near the speaker we had to eat really quick and leave as we was going to be deaf. Seemed like some of the up keep had gone down a bit tiles falling off in pools grass not being cut. Also it seemed we were getting ripped of as we was half board as we don’t drink that much and prefer to pay if we have drinks or food when we want and so we were told of one of the waiters we should have been getting bottles of branded pop coke etc and branded spirits but we wasn’t and still getting charged. Another thing that wasn’t really good. So comes to the check checks out

A lovely big resort with great choices of food and activities.

The rooms felt a little bit tired, with mould in the bathrooms, we did go end of season but probably could do with a little bit of TLC.

Pools are cold this time of year too (October).

Great resort in a quiet area with a private beach with free sun loungers, beach bar and swimming pool
Rooms were nice and spacious, housekeeping stuff was friendly and always wanted to help with anything.
Incredible various and always topped up buffet with loads of options.
Fully recommend it as an overall for a great family holiday, we went in October half term and everything was on point!

We have been here for about a week now and can only report positive things. The staff is fantastic!!! and the food is excellent.

It's a bit of a shame that the all-you-can-eat nature of the restaurant means that the cuisine is somewhat underappreciated. Because a lot of it is really well made and above average!

Everything is clean. Minor renovations are needed (for example, the indoor pool), but in general everything is still usable and good value for money.

Fortunately, the mini disco is a bit away from the main restaurant and, although we are here with a small child, we really appreciated having a room far away from the hustle and bustle of the kids' pool and mini disco.

Rumour has it that they want to move the kids' area to the edge of the resort, which we think is a good idea.

we recommend taking a taxi instead of renting a car for daytrips within 1hr distance.

We had the most wonderful time at the Pilot Beach Resort. We were upgraded to a suite when they heard it was our anniversary. The rooms were beautiful and spotless. There were many options for lunch and dinner and the breakfast buffet was amazing. It’s very family friendly there and there are activities for children and adults. It was a beautiful walk to Georgiopolis on the beach. There are cute shops and great restaurants in town. We’ve never stayed in a more amazing resort.

Great Beach & super nice Hotel - Access to the Beach is amazing, hotel garden is also very nice. renovated rooms , spacious and modern - we had a great stay. Food was also good - great salads, main food was mostly cold… , relaxing atmosphere, amazing yoga & Pilates classes outside , super nice! Also great with aqua gym at the beach. Clean & tidy place & surroundings. Spacious hotel area with nice pools and places to explore. Greg view from restaurant at the sea. Gym was a bit too cold and very dirty and old yoga mats , big minus for a 5 star hotel. The entertainment in the evening was disappointing, 2 out of 7 evenings were ok. Close to bus station , great taxi service as well. Hotel app needed, not easy to navigate. Staff was friendly but sometimes not always customer oriented. Overall we had a great, relaxing & still active vacation, great food & a nice mother daughter vacation.

I like this place.

It’s simple - with a nice beach, basic pools for swimming and a reasonable children’s club. You can get a bed by the pool or on the beach pretty easily but the beach pool was typically packed early on so we avoided it.

It’s no frills though so it your used of lots of stuff to do and water slides etc then you’ll be disappointed. My kids (5, 10 and 13) kept themselves occupied in the pools just messing around with floats or in the sea with snorkels.

Food is excellent in quality but snacks are not really available (you can’t just up grab a slice of pizza or a sandwich if you don’t fancy a full-on sit down) and there isn’t really any snack stations.

Drinks are available but it’s a bit of a pain, you have to go actively find a drink, go to the bar and physically ask with no service really coming to you during the day.

Entertainment was good, they did their best, it was ok for us. Only issue is if starts late -9pm. And kids were tired.

AI is via a card and some things are in and some thinks are not so this was really annoying. I ordered a children’s cocktail and they told me I couldn’t have without paying 8euros for it, there were a few things like this throughout the holiday that just slightly irritated given the money we spent on the trip.

People were nice and friendly aside from some rude bar staff on one occasion - I think they were hot, fed up of being asked the same questions, or needed a break!

All in all it’s nice, good quality hotel but diddnt have the luxurious feel that you can experience if you find a gem. 4Star , but not 5 IMO

Really lovely hotel right on the sandy beach. Location great for a relaxing break although a little further out of the small town than we thought. Not safe to walk along the road to it at night as there are no pavement and we wouldn’t walk the beach route at night. Only €5 in a taxi though to walk there and taxi back. Public bus stops outside to go to Chania and Rethymno. Food excellent, entertainment good. The Drifters were excellent, Basil had an amazing voice. Wouldn’t pay the extra money to go to the Cretan night though (€18 each) as the dancers were the same we saw for free two other nights and food much the same except for outside BBQ. Rooms a little small but everywhere very clean. Pool areas amazing and always found sunbeds available.
