Eva Marina Hotel in Matala

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars – A Wonderful Stay at Eva Marina!

We stayed at Eva Marina this summer and had such a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, George and Joanna were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Our room was bright, spotless, and comfortable, with a beautiful view overlooking the mountains of Crete — such a peaceful sight to wake up to each morning.

The location couldn’t have been better. The sea was just a short two-minute walk away, making it so easy to enjoy a swim or a stroll along the shore whenever we wanted. There were also plenty of nice restaurants and shops nearby, yet the hotel itself felt calm and relaxing.

Everything about our stay felt easy and pleasant. Eva Marina offered the perfect mix of comfort, hospitality, and authentic Cretan charm. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Lovely hotel with a great location in Matala, just 2 minutes from the beach and all the bars/restaurants. Spotlessly clean and good cold buffet breakfast with eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit, breads & cakes. Plenty of free parking nearby. Lovely balcony with rails for drying clothes. Very friendly hosts.

Close to bus stops, two kinites from the beach, close to all points of interest in Matala. The hostess was extremely kind, and generous. Fantastic experience overall and I would come again!

5 stars for the staff, they are all incredibly kind and helpful. So nice with the Kids too. I travel a lot and this is the best care I ever got in a hotel. Ok, the hotel itself is not the Ritz, but the rooms are alright and this is very close to the center of Matala. And again, they are great people. Would recommend 100%

We stayed at the Eva Marina hotel for two weeks. Although it is not a luxury hotel (after all, there are no such hotels in Matala), our stay was very pleasant and we have everything we need. The rooms are spacious enough, have a kettle and a fridge. The terrace is nice, while the hotel garden is beautiful. The staff is attentive and helpful (thanks to Anastasia and Ioannis). It is a very nice and cosy place in the centre of Matala village. Also, everything is near - beach, path to Red beach, bus station.

If you are looking for a small hotel right in the town center about 300m from the beach, this is the place for you.
It is a 2 star hotel, so don't expect 5 star luxury.
The most important clean room and bathroom, it seems to have been recently renovated, super nice staff with an open ear to questions. For me, the location was important to keep distances short and relatively quiet, as well as WiFi.

Wonderful hotel of a lovely family. If you come every year, you are welcomed and treated almost like a family member. The rooms were freshly renovated last winter. It's perfectly located near the main square.

Nice little family hotel, great location, Good-sized airy rooms, each with a balcony. Our only criticism: the bed was a bit hard for our taste and the breakfast quite minimal ( which was enough for us, we want mostly coffee in the mornings ). If ever back in Matala, we would stay in the same hotel.
