Albatross Studios in Kefalos

Just returned from the albatross. All I can say is wow. Just fabulous. Lunch food simply amazing..... already booked for next year. Thank you. X

Wow…everything about the albatross is just special ..,the place is immaculate with maid service everyday …the staff are the friendliest we have ever come across …Maria ..Kristo…Tula..manolis…yanni and I did not get the name of the maid but she was amazing also …we miss you guys and I actually cried when leaving …(I don’t cry) this is listed as a 2 star hotel with 5 star staff …,defo not a 2 star …everything about it is amazing …Tula ..I miss your food …Maria ..I miss your singing and lovely happy face …manolis ..miss your chat and telling Lee the sun has gone lol ..being waved off by hotel guests and staff was just so lovely ……we will be back …love you all ..special mention to Connie who has been amazing from start to finish xx

First stay at this accommodation and what hits you is the stunning locality of the property across the road from the beach with palm trees lining the route to the bay & harbour all this is clearly stunning from your balcony if your at the front of the property. The place is beautiful and the apartments very modern by Greek standards. Food was very tasty but a tad pricy I’m comparing to our trip to mainland greece in July where a burger was 3 euros and not 12 and a club sandwich same size was £6 not 10 . Cocktails were pricy at 10 compared to mainland were they were 6 euros. although they do have happy hour 3/4 where it 10 euros for 2 drinks . No room tax just air con at 7 euros and if you keep your room on its 40 euros again. on the mainland they don’t charge . Maria and her team look after you and they work from 10 to 4 once they finish shift you need to pay them for your food etc the days are relaxing but there’s something amiss from the evening vibe there - it’s non existent . when there’s a change over of staff food ends at 4 so would recommend Eating out in several of the Bars along the road to get your evening entertainment. great seafood to be had everywhere . Go to the local beach and watch the sunsets Walk to the Castle 35 mins way on foot and best Supermarket is about 1 km away Kefalos market with a nice bar attached . Loads of returning guests but I /we like to stay different places and get new experience each year Also if you are on a budget you can easy spend loads of money every day in food and drink here so use your self catering facilities and eat there once a day

Once again we returned to Albatross and had the most relaxing holiday. Maria and staff are so welcoming and look after everyone so well. They cannot do enough for you. The best place, beautifully clean, the most wonderful location. Already booked to go back

My wife and I stayed at Albatross Studios in August 2025. We booked it because it was family run, just a few apartments, self catering and close to the beach and restaurants. We were not disappointed. Albatross Studios is a gem of a place. How it is only rated as 2 star is beyond me. The rooms themselves are spotlessly clean. Maid service is almost every day, with fresh towels and linen. We had a twin room on the first floor, with a balcony. The balcony was perfect for having our breakfast and lunch on, and for drying our clothes. The sea view over the harbour was spectacular. The kitchenette was well equipped and there was nothing more that we needed. The bathroom was a good size too. Outside, the pool area was perfect. It was never too busy, and sunbeds were never all taken, so no need to put your towels out! As with the rooms, everywhere was so clean. Early each morning the pool was cleaned as was the whole of the pool area. The bar was well equipped and the lunches were great value with big portions. I can’t comment on the breakfasts as we didn’t have one. Everybody was so friendly and helpful. The area of Kefalos that we were in was really quiet. The studios are on a “main” road but really it’s pretty much a dead end so there is very, very little traffic. Certainly you don’t notice it. There are plenty of restaurants along the road into the main resort. We ate at Kapsali’s tavern (a few yards to the right of the studios) for lunch and we had a few ice cream’s too. Tanipora is next door and does great Meze. Along the main road we also went to Cavos (great for sea food),Sebastians (we had sea food and souvlaki), Maria (great local dishes and fish), Syrtaki (we ate here 3 times!) and Gallini. There are also loads of supermarkets, but we found the best were about 1km along the main road to Kefalos (Kefalos Market & Supermarket Skala). We took the bus into Kos Town (took about 45 minutes and cost €5.20 per person each way). We also hired a car from Dmitris (about 100m from the studios) and they were really good. We visited Tigaki beach, Zia Town, Paradise Beach, Marmari beach & Lagada beach. As far as tours go, we used Asklipios Tours (about 500m from the studios). Maria was so helpful and friendly. I think it’s just her and her husband Michael who run it. Their prices were similar to others (we did the 3 island tour for €40pp and the Nissyros trip for €35pp). Both were so well organised. Impossible to find fault. Kos is a beautiful island, and if you stay at the Albatross you will have a great time. We spoke to so many people who were staying there who had visited multiple times, and we can see why. If you want a great holiday for a great price, stay here!

Writing this review while I’m still here at Albatross Studios, have 2 more days to go. What a lovely place to stay, so relaxing and peaceful. Clean. Always a sunbed available. Lots of choice of drinks and food. Large portions and so tasty. Friendly staff. Cannot fault it one bit. Will definitely return.

We are still sat in the airport as a delay to Birmingham but just had to give my opinion on this place. Firstly when we arrived we had a ground floor room but asked if we could have a balcony? An hour later our request had been granted and no problem at all. Yes the rooms are basic but are spotless the staff are the most friendly I have ever met.. the poolside snacks are reasonable but very good portions ( I don’t think Greek understand small portion) Minoli makes a fab cocktail or two and loves to chat which is really nice. Just could not fault the place it is in a good location with beach across the road and 10€ for two beds and brolly.. tip.. take beach shoes as quite rocky but sea very shallow We did 3 island tour and sunset trip both booked with Joyce @ jd tours again another lovely lady.. all in all we had a great 9 days and would definitely return in fact it was a very emotional goodbye as the staff insisted on waving us off. Well done guys you are amazing and hopefully see you again at some point

Just returned after our 2nd visit. Loved every minute, such a chilled & relaxing vibe with the best staff & owners. They will do anything to assist guests. Our case was damaged at the airport & the handyman taped it up for us. Views from pool across the sea are fantastic & great place to enjoy a drink or lunch. Snack bar food great value, no need to go elsewhere. Can’t wait to visit again

Lovely apartments very clean Pool area very good plenty of space between sunbeds. Food in bar really good and big portions. The apartment was one of the back ones with a terrace and had probably the best shower cubicle I have had in Greece. Clean towels left most days and clean sheets regular. We had a late check out so paid to keep the room on. With regards to Kefalos we had previously visited but did find it was vey quiet in early June. The resort is also vey spread out so if you have difficulty walking this will be very hard but all people in bars and restaurants friendly but this is not a busy late night resort if you want a quiet relaxing holiday then it will be ok

We arrived late at night but received a lovely welcome from staff. We stayed in the 2 bed apartment which was excellent. The whole complex is spotlessly clean and the pool area has plenty of well spaced loungers. Maria and her team go out of their way to ensure you have a great holiday. The resort was quiet however, there were plenty of bars & restaurants open nearby. Thank you Albatross for a lovely, relaxing holiday.
