Multiple reviews praise the family-friendly facilities including pools with water slides and a kids’ club that entertained children effectively. The food, while described as basic or repetitive by some, was considered good and fresh by others, with highlights like freshly made pizza and varied buffet options. Several guests commend the friendly and helpful staff, especially naming the restaurant manager Michael for excellent service and the animation team for engaging guests. The free shuttle bus to the beach and the availability of bicycles for rent were appreciated by visitors. The hotel grounds are described as large, green, and well-maintained, with clean pools and comfortable beds in rooms. Some guests reported maintenance issues such as broken door handles, electrical problems, and a musty or unpleasant smell in some rooms, including swim-up rooms. Complaints about the food included excessive use of fried items and lack of variety, especially for picky eaters and vegetarians. Entertainment quality varied, with some guests noting poor or repetitive animation programs and sound system problems. The hotel’s location is considered distant from the beach and village center by some, with the shuttle bus service being infrequent and overcrowded at times. Additional charges for air conditioning, towels, and internet access caused dissatisfaction, as did the use of plastic cups for drinks and limited alcoholic beverage options during the day.

Came here in 2023 with our young children and enjoyed every minute. Came back this time October 2025 with family and friends. Paid extra for a swim up room, which we couldn't use the whole stay as it smelt of sulphur/feces the whole time. Food is basic. Entertainment was dire, when we came in 2023 there was SOOO much to do for the kids. This time they didn't have a clue what they were doing, the sound system was awful (my partner had to show them how to work it). Bar staff were lovely. Plenty of choice in drinks

Booked through on the beach and honestly as useful as a chocolate tea pot with our experience. We paid almost 2.5k for two weeks here and honestly id rather have gone to blackpool. On arrival to this hotel it did not get off to a good start it was money for this and that from the get go. No AC in room unless you paid a fee. No pool towels without a fee and they immediately take the tourist tax from you before you even see your room or the hotel which was lucky. Cause the hotel is run down and tired with furniture from the 80s our room although modern inside had a door that had the handle barely attached and could be opened with a gust of wind. The electrics in our rooms were hanging off the wall including the key card holder which meant 24 hours a day if the key was in the lights would flick on and off like a german night club the hotel absolutely stinks of sewage round all pool areas main pool is always filthy with debris from plants and cigarette ends in it not to mention the mould in pool areas we went to the beach to swim it was cleaner and more sanitary . The food was absolutely disgusting the same thing every night all swimming in grease including the veg. Which they repurposed and serve at breakfast who wants carrots and sweetcorn for breakfast. Not suitable if your a picky eater which me and my husband are not bit be aware if you are and dont book. I had food poisoning for 5 days. Not all inclusive at all as unless you drink and like one type of beer or the tap machine wine there is no alcohol until 5pm and even then no named spirits and only hotel specific cocktails everything else is again another charge. And towards the end of our stay kids couldn't even get a ice cream they literally emptied the freezers and started shutting off self serve drink machines. The only good thing about this hotel was the animation team they tried hard to get everyone involved and enjoy them selves in the evening

We stayed here from 3rd to 10th October 2025 and had a terrible experience! We had our sons amazon fire tablet in one of our backpacks which stayed in the room, we noticed on the evening of 5th it was missing. Multiple people checked the room and nothing. The only people with keys were myself and the cleaners and when we spoke to reception they basically called us liars. The situation was dealt with disgustingly. Do not recommend!

Currently meant to be staying here but left after just 24 hours — it completely ruined our first family holiday. The rooms are run down, shower barely worked, door handle loose, and there was an ant infestation. The front-of-house manager was rude, dismissive, and even swore at my partner when we raised issues. We were moved rooms, but the problems continued — the door didn’t lock properly after a “fix,” and our baby was given a broken cot which we tried to fix on numerous occasions. Most of the so-called “arcade” games were broken, and the pool area was unsafe with damaged grids. Food was average at best. This place is nowhere near a 4-star standard — 1 star if that. Would never stay here again.

This is a lovely hotel, it is very clean and fairly well maintained with comfy beds and fantastic staff. However, it is definitely not a 4 star. There are 3 reasons for this, the food, the alcohol and the entertainment. All inclusive food generally tends to be a bit repetitive if you stay for two weeks and the Golden Odyssey is no exception. There is plenty of choice but if you are a vegetarian or very fussy it would be a struggle. The kids choice of two different pizzas and pasta did the job for me quite a few nights! The food at the pool bar is pretty good, as long as you like burger and chips. Drinks are served in plastic cups all day, you may get a 'better' grade plastic cup in the restaurant. During the day there is self serve soft drinks, beer and wines (red, white and rose), no spirits or cocktails. The same applies in the restaurant. From 5pm the main bar opens and that has self serve soft drinks and beer. Everything else is served to you. None of that is a problem except the beer in the main bar is awful and so are the wines. We often bought bottles of wine and beer from the local shop, not the idea of all inclusive. The animation team are really good and do there best to entertain guests 6 nights a week. In the two weeks that we were at the hotel there was outsourced entertainment four times. The Greek nights are fun but if you don't want to get up and join in you will have to refuse several times, they don't understand the word NO (even when said in Greek)! The location is a bit out of the way, about a 20 minute walk from the beach and 15 to the village/small town of Kolymbia. Not a problem for most people but it was very hot! We would return to Rhodes but not this hotel or Kolymbia.

We stayed here for our first anniversary, and to be honest the hotel was not the best choice we were advised that this was a 4 star hotel, even their sign states this but this is more than likely just pushing a 3 star. Most of the staff were lovely and would do anything to help you but some just looked like they did not want to be there. we booked this as all inclusive but it definitely was not all inclusive you can not get any food or anything to drink not even water between the hours of 11pm and 7am we had to buy bottled water from their shop luckily they had a fridge where we could keep it cold, there was no kettles in the room we were told do not drink the water from the tap and if you do you need to boil it first then wait for it to cool down then you can drink it. which we were like how do you boil it with no kettle in the room. Breakfast was barely passable Scrambled egg swimming in oil ended up most days opting for boiled eggs but i would stay away from the soft boiled i cracked it open and went to put it on my toast and it poured out the shell. cant really comment on Lunch as we were hardly in the hotel for this apart from the second last day, my husband said it was the best meal he had in the hotel and wished we went to it more for a decent meal. Dinner after the first day we ended up going out every night for something to eat in the town as there was nothing that we could eat all just swimming in oil and just stuff we just couldn't eat. The beds were surprisingly comfortable just ask for extra pillows as they were really thin. drinks through out the day are just the ones from the machines so there is no cocktails or spirits until 6.30pm so recommended buying stuff in duty free and make your own drinks. All drinks are served in small plastic cups your not aloud to fill up your own cups with water from the machines it has to be these small cups. The food at the pool bar was the worst experience of my life made me ill from the Sunday until the Tuesday which is when we flew home, was terrified to fly home feeling so ill. I couldn't even stomach water ended up ruining the other half of our anniversary. We ended up having a leak in the bathroom from the Aircon this was dealt with quick enough while we were at the pool, there was rubble everywhere after it was fixed and the cleaners were in after to clean it up but there was still rubble left in the sink and under the toilet seat. The bathroom just kept flooding every time we used the rainfall shower so best thing to use would be the small shower on the side no where to hang it up while you wash yourself so you will need to hold it. i would recommend bringing earplugs as you can hear everything through the walls we had someone who was coughing constantly next door through the night and kept us awake also kids running up and down the halls screaming didnt help.

We got big room (2 adults+2yo) and we got 4 beds. Many pools and fun for kids, but also quiet places in the hotel area. Food was amazing, and the best was the service, manager and the staff were trying their best to be kind and fast cleaning etc. Thank you. The beach is far from the hotel, but everyone who buys the hotel can find that information in the internet! So I dont know why is everybody angry about that. There is 10 min away tsambika beach - most beautiful beach in Rhodos. 2,30e for bus. We had a pleasant stay and I would recomend this hotel :)

I don't understand some of the reviews. We stayed for a week in August. We had a superior family room on the back block of the complex which suited us as it was nice and quiet. The room was cleaned every single day. Fresh towels every single day. It was always spotlessly cleaned. The kids absolutely loved the main pool area and the snack bar. Then at lunch time we would make our way over to the onsite water park which was thoroughly enjoyed by us all. Especially our 3 year old. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was buffet style. There was something for everybody. Entertainment was good especially if you had small children. We loved the greek night it was amazing. Special shout out to Dimitri in the bar and George in the restaurant. Always greeted like we were family. The free shuttle was amazing too straight on to the beach and it run multiple times a day. Honestly for the price it was £3900 all inclusive in the summer holidays with TUI. You would struggle to find all inclusive for Greece in summer holidays for that price. If you want 5 star then go 5 star. If you want something budget friendly, That the kids will love then golden odyssey is fab. We've been on many holidays ranging from 3 star to 5 star. I honestly don't have anything bad to say about this place they were very accomodating. Even on the day of check out we paid for a late check out and we kept the room until 6pm and we we're still allowed to use all the facilities and go for dinner etc. Honestly give it a try please don't be put off by negative comments

We have been offered this hotel as a replacement of the hotel we booked originally but wasn't available anymore. Very disappointed with pretty much everything. Didnt receive great welcome from the reception guy who withouth saying hello not even looking at us asked us for passports. Don't even expect any toiletries and you have to ask constantly for soap to be refilled. Room wasn't to bad apart from broken Toilet seat, wires poking out of the ceiling and broken balcony door where you had to force to open or close. Rooms where cleaned 2 a week sheets change once a week. We had our pool towels stolen in first week. Outside of our room was falling apart ,plaster and bricks falling down. Sun beds not being cleaned after people where sitting on them ( we stayed 2 weeks and havent seen anyone clean it once), no one walking around the pool supervising or cleaning. People eating and drinking in the swimming pool so food was floating and loads of cups in the pool.People leaving towels on sunbeds overnight so you couldn't get a sunbed , some people fighting over them ..... Food by the pool repetitive only burgers, chicken nuggets or fish fingers and chips, the same ice cream valina chocolate or strawberry. No fresh fruit by the pool. Entertainment by the pool poor. One 10 min zumba class maybe 2 a week. That's it! Children's club? We sat next to it and didn't even notice that there was one . We came with 3 children and none of them was offered any fun games or anything. Evening entertainment repetative and done by one guy. Children's song at the start over and over and over the same . My children were bored with them by day 3. The only great entertainment was when a Greek band came and done some dancing. Food in the restaurant , not much fresh fruit apart from water melon, apples and grapes, which weren't great either. Food was ok but was expecting more Greek cousine. Loads of flies on the food . My husband and daughter hurt themselves on one of the big slides, very sharp bits sticking out also screws sticking out on the steps. Other slides needed fixing to. I would give it 1 to 2 stars hotel. Rhodes was beautiful though, also Lindos worth visiting.
