Lovely Stay at Abelonas Retreat Golden East moved my booking here, and I was pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, and I could see both the sunrise and sunset – absolutely beautiful views. We stayed in the room with the loft. The views were stunning. The front desk guy was very informative about the area. It is the perfect place as home base while exploring. 30 min walk to Fira. Understand that this hotel has an awesome view to the east sea, not towards Caldera. Also, its in an island area where you can walk to nothing. Its not near the main areas of the island with bars, restaurants, etc. If you understand this, its fine. Also, many rooms have a loft bed meaning a staircase up so to use the restroom its down and then back up.

Overall, my stay here was very pleasant. I had a peaceful and relaxing holiday in May. When I first arrived, the room I was given was different from the one I saw on Trip.com. Meli Meli is a beautiful and relaxing property decorated with unique style. The swimming pool area is fantastic. Jackie was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with. The only down side was that the road next by could be a bit noisy at times but nothing to worry about.

The room was clean but the towels were hard and old. This hotel is not 5 star hotel. I had to pay an upgrade cause my first room with the jacuzzi was not good. The staff is super friendly and helpful no complain about that but the facilities were bad. The breakfast was not good. Not too many options to eat. The view from my new room was incredible.

Nice hotel, unusual and very interesting room, fantastic view, good service. Difficult to reach, but it’s due to the nature of hotel on rocks, transfer was well organisches. Just few questions to quality of details in the room like door to restroom and cleaness. But nevertheless at was a great stay.
