City Hotel Ring in Budapest

The service we received and the attitude of the receptionist were appalling. She kept raising her voice at us and was angry about every question we asked. To enter the hotel, you first have to leave the lobby (if you can even call it that) and go through the staircase of a nearby building. The internet that was promised as part of the service only worked in the lobby itself, so we couldn’t enjoy any connection in our room at all. Very disappointing

Book this hotel on love holidays as part of a deal for a girls trip. We arrived around 3am in the morning , the rooms of the hotel were separate and had to go up creepy sets of stairs to get to our room. There is a lift but reminds me of the lift from the rocky horror picture show. As this was as a girls trip , this was slightly unnerving for us ,especially in the 3am pitch dark. I feel this wasn’t advertised on the hotel that well , that the rooms are in a completely separate building that’s shared with hostels and private apartments too. There was security doors to enter your corridor but they were never locked? The rooms were pleasant enough and exactly as described. It was around 35 degrees out so was nice to get inside with the air con in our room. The staff were friendly which contradicts other reviews I’ve seen but honestly couldn’t fault them , was also extremely comforting as it was all female staff. The hotel was central to all public transport and we were never anything more of 10 mins to tourist attractions. Lots of restaurant and bars on the same road of the hotel. Overall was pleasant , you get what you pay for.
