Aurora Igloo in Hella

Staying at Aurora Igloo was one of the highlights of my trip to Iceland. Even in winter, the igloo was cozy and warm, with three heaters inside. I booked the igloo with private bathroom, which was spacious and well-equipped. Check-in was easy and the hosts responsive when contacted. I would definitely recommend stopping for a night here on your south coast adventure!

This was a unique stay, giving off a camping vibe. I was surprised there wasn't any staff on-site to greet us. Instead, they left the key in a common area for self check-in, and there's a number to call for assistance, so definitely have a phone plan with calls included. The common area was clean, with unlimited self-service coffee and hot water. It would be absolutely stunning if the sky were clear enough to see the Northern Lights!

I spent one night here in January, luckily, we managed to catch the northern lights as the location is great to see the auroras. the igloos are very clean cosy and warm, and the toilet and shower facilities were very clean too. thoroughly enjoyed my night there, would deffo go back x

It was a bit pricey, but it was the most special accommodation of my life.

I don't know if we got lucky or not, but watching the northern lights dance all over the sky while sitting inside our warm clear igloo was incredible. Comfortable beds, easy check in. No complaints. Also id say if you can spend the extra money, they private shower igloo is well worth the cost. If you don't want to pay the extra its still plenty worth going to. Truly incredible experience.

This place is amazing!
We spent one night in an igloo with shared bathrooms. The bathrooms were clean and nice, it was so great to have a coffee and tea after a freezing day.
The bed heater was a great feature of the room, it was nice and cozy to see the northern lights from bed. Like a fairy tale :)

This place is incredible! So close to town and yet far enough away that you can see the stars and the aurora with no light pollution!
The check in process was super easy, and the Igloo itself was clean, warm (they provide heating, thank god because it was freezing). The communal area was also very clean and theres enough light to be able to access it from the igloo.
We were blessed to have the lights and clear skies when we stayed so stars above and the northern lights in front of us was an incredible experience. Highly recommend this place!

Self-service check-in, but the hotel will inform you of the check-in process and relevant information the night before check-in. The room is fully equipped and very clean. Since it is summer, the hotel also provides eye masks and earplugs.

It would have been better if I had seen the Aurora, but even if I didn't, I was satisfied and slept well. It was a unique accommodation that felt great sleeping in harmony with nature!
