- the location was very good for sightseeing - the staff was very friendly - good breakfast with good times - good dinner with good fish - can hear the sound of the neighboor rooms very loud - the room was clean
We spent one night here after a long day of travel arriving in Iceland and sightseeing on the Golden Circle. The hotel is located in the country 25 minutes north of Selfoss. The interior was a bit dated with some carpet that needs to be replaced. But this hotel has 2 nice hot tubs and a sauna. We ate dinner and breakfast here as we were tired and far from town. Both meals were excellent. Our...
Great touring base. Rooms need an upgrade but it was comfortable and everything worked well. No complaints just a bit basic. Food was great if a tad pricey. The location was good for touring south Iceland
We were supposed to stay at their sister hotel, Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon but were unable to keep our reservation due to road closures and weather. This is the hotel we were transferred to. I would describe our experience here as average. It would be much nicer if the hot tubs were indoor as it can be quite cold in the winter months to sit in water that is only 40 degrees celsius. The hot tubs also...
Exactly what our family needed: a family room for four. Bonus: the room has two bedrooms with two televisions, robes for everyone to use, soap, shampoo, conditioner, mini refrigerator. Diverse breakfast buffet. The chef made the bacon perfectly and the hard-boiled eggs also showed expertise in breakfast-making. We enjoyed the dinner. Kids’ meals are a very good value. Adult choices were chicken...
The hotel did not disappoint. We went there looking for some peace in quiet in a cosy place, surrounded by nature - and that's what we got. The landscape is great and you can see Hekla in the distance. There is a fire place in the bar-lounge area and that makes for a great evening experience. Two hot-tubs and a sauna also on premises. Hot tubs are quite big and have 2 different temperatures, which...

Excellent location for access to the Golden Circle and the south shore of Iceland. Beautiful full kitchen. 15min drive to Selfoss for excellent dinning. This cottage was an excellent find.
The perfect cottage! I loved this cottage and was so sad to leave! I have never stayed at such a comfortable and cozy place. We arrived late at night and it was such a breath of fresh air walking into the cottage. Everything was just perfect. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. We were close to the golden circle and south coast so a slow exploration of the area was possible.
Four of us stayed in Cottage #2 for five nights. The cottages are really lovely - everything you could need to make simple meals. The location is perfect for seeing everything from the Golden Circle to Vik and the Westmann Islands. Selfoss is a short drive and the Food Hall there is a great place for dinner. Highly recommend these cottages.
Just came back from a great stay at one of the cottages. Rosa was a pleasure. Met us a minute after we arrived and showed us how everything worked. The cottage is quiet and remote but just a few minutes outside Selfoss which was a lovely little town with everything you could need. It’s a few minutes from Rt 1 so if you’re traveling around, it’s a great location. Would absolutely stay there again if...
Place was very clean and the property contact is very nice and assisted very well with our questions and concerns.
The cabin had everything we needed during our stay, even for our toddler. Plenty of travel trips available! The cabin was nice and tidy, well equipped, plus had an abundant selection of spices for cooking.

Didda and Erling are nothing short of amazing! What impressed me is their attention to detail. We slept like babies in those warm beds. We had everything we needed. There are also beautiful horses in the area. I’ll be thinking about this stay for a very long time. Takk 💙❤️🤍
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Clean, comfortable room with private bathroom. All ammenities included. Great WiFi, kind and welcoming hostess. Highly recomended
A quiet place and a great host.
So happy to have stayed here. We saw the the Northern lights! This place was convenient to the golden circle and super quiet. The hosts were wonderful kind ppl.
First and foremost, you need to know that this is an extremely clean and well-kept guest house. Right down to the broom in the room. The bedding is of high quality and very comfortable. The temperature is perfect, if you find it too hot you can turn down the radiator directly on the spot. The fridge and microwave provided by the owner and his wife were very useful as our aim was to save our budget...
The room was well thought out and had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable and had a great night's rest 😌. Breakfast was not encluded, but there was breakfast available for a cost.

Host was nice and friendly especially the goats tour. Guesthouse was very neat clean. Just little messy when taking shower. We also enjoyed the beautiful sunset from our unit. Great stay at Iceland.
Enjoyed the goat tour with the host. Clean space with a small kitchen.
It was a quite place. We got to meet the goats which was nice for the kids. There is a very nice waterfall Urradasi short drive.
The price was reasonable, and the location was very quiet, which I liked. Check-in was also very convenient. Although the room wasn't large, it was well-equipped. I recommend it.
We had such a pleasant stay. The property is on a gorgeous piece of land. It was very quiet and peaceful. The room was clean and spacious. Our bathroom was huge! It was nice to have the kitchen efficiency, as we made some breakfast in the morning before we left on our travels. I would stay here again.
We got a room on the second floor so we had to carry our luggage by using the stair. The room was spacious for 4 persons with well-equipped kitchenwares. The host was kind and she offered us to join the goat tour of her farm for free but we couldn’t make it because we arrived there later than the tour started. It’s easy to find the place on google map.

A nice and quiet place in the Selfoss area. We got a free room upgrade. We booked this hotel to stay after finishing the Golden Circle. We saw the northern lights here, after we were notified via a special WhatsApp group.
Decent room for it price. Location is good because it's in the countryside which offers good chance to see the northern lights but has easy access to selfoss (~30min with slow driving)
The hotel was clean, but the room had a slightly stuffy smell. There were only two electrical outlets in the room, so it was a bit of a hassle. The heating was adequate!
Awesome services! The staff are really kind and nice!
Hot water was hot and cold and there were about 10 flies when I entered the room, other than that everything was fine!
We stayed at Hotel Vatnsholt for one night and had a really pleasant experience. The staff were very welcoming and helpful – we arrived late in the evening, and they took time to explain everything clearly: the common areas (with games available until 11 pm), the breakfast setup, and then directed us to our room. A really nice touch was the free hot chocolate and coffee machine in the common area...

Very cosy and nice atmosphere. The house is lovely and very comfortable including shared shower and toilet - all very clean and nice. Breakfast was delicious with home made bread..
Julia's place is pure magic. It gives everything one can wish for in a night's stay, and then, more. Julia and Maik showed us the widest smile possible, and we really felt welcome, and at home. The place is close to the main road, clean, very inviting, and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is rich and tasty. And, the cute and calm cats added to the many charms of the place. Thank you Julia and Maik...
A fantastic place to stay, really, really nice host and great breakfast!
Cannot say enough amazing things about this place! My fiance and I had the most comfortable stay here and would recommend it to anyone! Julia was extremely welcoming and kind, and her breakfast was delicious.
Everything was perfect. Located closer to golden circle. Breakfast was completely Vegetarian which was ideal for us. Julia is very kind and environment friendly. Definitely recommend staying here 100%.

Loved this hotel. Travelled as a family of five at the beginning of December and we were delighted. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The food was absolutely exceptional. We were lucky enough to have plenty of snow, to experience frozen waterfalls, underground caves, vik and the black sand beach with snow all over it, and to see the northern lights. What an amazing trip!
We stayed for three nights and left not thinking it was nearly enough. It was, without hesitation, the best hotel experience of my life. The hotel is small, only about 14 rooms. And the rooms are luxurious. You become acquainted with the others guests and those interactions are a lot of fun. Dinner is amazing with some of the best seafood and Lamb I have ever had. The morning fare is equally...
We had a really lovely and special stay here. The owners make it feel quite familiar here and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The views are absolutely beautiful and the windows are squeaky clean so you can enjoy it. The food that is prepared here is spectacular! I didn’t expect that. The best thing about this hotel are of course the dogs. They are just so sweet. Tina, the black one, greeted us on arrival...
it was very cozy, the owners were very nice and helpful with us, the breakfast had variety, the spa was superb( we were so lucky that we got to see the northern lights meanwhile we were chilling in the thermal bath they had outdoors. The best place we staying in Iceland! The hotel is small and cozy. The design of the interior is sensational. Most of the art is original art by the owner's father. The views are incredible. We had 4 days in Iceland and decided we would stay outside of Reykjavik. And thank goodness we did as we booked at this wonderful boutique hotel, which ticked all my boxes. Nice place. Helpful staff and decent breakfast. Outside the small town of Selfoss. Close to a beautiful church and other attractions.
Great location with friendly staff, will def stay there again! Thanks for making us feel welcome.
Just outside of Selfoss, good location to get to lots of sites, included breakfast was great, helpful people that run it gave me lots of advice on my roadtrip that saved me some headaches.
Property was very clean and quiet. Room had a view of the exterior fields and bed was extremely comfortable. The included breakfast had so many options, including a waffle iron and homemade jams and cheese. Friendly guesthouse hosts as well.
Amazing location, the HotTub and the Sauna are a gamechanger after days in the Highlands. The Hosts are super freindly and I would book this at any time again

We had unfortunate luck with the weather, but the stay was a cool experience. Check in was seamless and extremely pleasant. Felt very welcomed, and if we ever find ourselves back in Iceland we definitely would stay here again.
This stay made our trip! Clean, comfy, really well heated domes with heated mattresses etc. Best part was, after a cloudy night not spotting much I woke up at 6am for the bathroom and there was a whole light show above the domes! Bathrooms , kitchen, lounge area all spotless. Would highly recommend.
A really cool and unique glamping campgrounds with lots of interesting nooks and crannies. The main kitchen / dining / bathrooms house is well furnished and has a decent kitchen. A few eating areas, but overall can get a little crowded during busy times. Restrooms are 3 shower stalls, 3 toilet stalls, 2 sinks. Plenty of towels provided. The barn is a separate building further into the campground...
Glamping experience with nice amenities all around and a really unique lounge area in the barn. The main area is a large building and has multiple bathrooms and showers. The facilities and kitchen were a little tight for the amount of people when full, but ultimately worked out fine. The big surprise was the barn lounge area. I definitely recommend spending some time in what is a really cool and unique...
This was an unexpected delight. The owners take pride in their clamping decor and really made an extra special place for visitors to stay. They showed us around and explained things very well and the sleep area is huge with a full table n chairs, too. Loved it!!
We had a lovely experience. The hosts were amazing and the site is exactly as advertised. I mean: it's rustic and a bit rugged but we are not exactly adventurous travellers and we had a delightful experience. Don't let glamping scare you off. I absolutely loved my stay! It was beautiful and clean and the owner is so kind! It was 10 minutes away from Selfoss where I had some great meals. Thank you so much, I will definitely book again in the future.
Very nice guest house. Super clean. Quite small for three people. Our recommendation is to add window screens to limit flies.
Cottage was clean and well stocked. Bathroom had strong odor of sulpher possibly. Check in was great even late at night.
Very beautiful guesthouse with all the amenities you need and clean. Only one washroom in the home to serve 3-4 rooms though, which can become a bit frustrating.
Clean, quiet, comfortable with lovely charming rooms in the country. Cheerful and well-equipped shared kitchen with great coffee! The best part was the wonderful, welcoming hosts who cared about our experience and generously shared their home with us. Great Iceland ambassadors!

Convenient location for our travels, we spent the night at the campground portion. Showers were nice and the kitchen area was nice. However, the washing machine was broke and took a long time to wash our load of laundry.
All around, we were unbelievably impressed with this stay. After spending a night in an extremely small hotel in Reykjavik, we were worried about what was to come. This Guesthouse completely changed our trip, and we purposely changed plans to be able to spend more time there. It was clean, very cozy, spacious, and had everything we could need in the kitchenette. Service was exceptional, and all around...
I liked the guesthouse, and the fact that it was centrally located for many of the things I wanted to see.
Nice campground right in town. Heated kitchen area with plenty of tables and a couple of hot plates and sinks. Three showers in an open area with shower curtains. Everything was clean.
The bedroom size is just perfect. The compact kitchen is super helpfull to do a good meal (you can find everything you need there: cutlery, pan, salt, oil, etc). The bedroom has heater inside the toialet and nearby the bed, and it worked normally.
It has all I need, private bathroom, kitchen. There’s grocery stores nearby. And stuff is very nice and helpful!

This was a nice place to stay for the night. It seemed like the hotel may have had some issues before our arrival, as the changing rooms were broken and the hot tubs couldn’t be used due to the snowfall. Which was disappointing. Simple cottage with hot spring at the reception area. Kitchen was well equipped and managed to cook some food. However, heater in the room was not too strong. We were quite cold as the temperature dipped the night we were there. We managed to catch the aurora right from our room windows! That was only because the location was great and no light pollution around.
We saw the aurora borealis when we arrived. Make sure to arrive at this hotel early, as the front desk isn't open 24 hours. After watching the aurora for a while, we quickly checked in because the staff were about to leave. Before they leave, check if the heating is warm enough; if not, adjust the temperature while they're still there.
Wonderful place to stay! We were here for just one night and we all wish we had booked a longer stay! The cabins are so cute and have a terrific view! The staff was terrific and meals were great. They were happy to make special food items for our 5 year old. We are very much hoping to be back here again and stay longer to really take advantage of all Hestheimar has to offer!!
The people working for the place were kind and friendly. However the owner was insane. They keep reiceving the customers even though there was serious problem in the room 4, 5 and 6 where the floor heating was not working at all. You have to pay extra money to avoid the room 4, 5 and 6 otherwise just get the cold feet for the cold room.

I have never felt so well cared for! I really felt like I found an ally in Iceland to give me advice. The washer here was broken so our hostess took our laundry home and brought it back fresh and folded. We enjoyed our stay so much. Great accommodations and a great hostess!
Nice place to stay and they have hot tub from 6.30pm until 11pm.. Staying in room 201 everything was great except the toilet air filter is a bit noisy and its auto stop.. So basically every time the lights is on, it make very noisy sound.. ? Overall, staff is very friendly and kitchen is very clean.. ??
One of the best valued guest houses we have stayed in our 8 days trip in Iceland, with great clean rooms and shared kitchen (free coffees) and bathroom facilities. Great if you are tight in budget and want to cook your own meals. Theres plenty of free parking around. Manager is very friendly and helpful too, so for the money, I serously have no complains at all.
Lovely guesthouse run by a lovely family. Host was kind and offered a room change for us even without asking due to a glitch in the alarm system in our room. Rooms and guesthouse are super clean, easy access to golden circle. We arrived late and didn't realise the kitchen was off limits outside of breakfast times but the host did let us use the microwave as we hadn't had dinner. The rooms were clean and the location was nice, but the rooms were a little dated looking. For the price I wasn’t too impressed with the quality of the rooms, and I thought breakfast was lackluster. The place to stay is very close to the church. Service is so-so. Breakfast is okay. Eating at KFC nearby is the most cost-effective option; places like Da Shi Dai are just a few minutes' walk away. I ate there. The pizza was over 200 kilos, and the crust was completely burnt. I saw other people were also complaining. A bowl of noodles was 170 kilos, a fried rice was 200 kilos, a taco was 120 kilos...

Located in the heart of Selfoss, it offers easy access to both the coast and the inland area. The facilities are relatively new. The rooms are not particularly large. There's parking, but it's limited, so you'll have to park on the street if you run out. Breakfast is similar to other hotels, but the selection isn't extensive. The coffee is good. This was a last minute stay, and the hosts greeted us warmly in spite of this. Nice house, located in modest sized town near golden circle. They had an ok kitchen but no cork screw, no colander. A really large bathroom but the sink was very, very small - so weird. Beds comfortable. Power went out for awhile but someone came and they were able to restore it. We had booked in error the day before and switched it but they refused to give us a refund for that night. It was 6 months before the visit so they totally could have sold it again...
The room was correct, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was basically equipped but enough for our needs. Now, to the downsides, the bathroom drainage was not working well, so the whole bathroom was flooded after a shower. What was even worse was the lack of warm water. In the kitchen, the cold water pressure was almost nonexistent, and the rest tasted to rotten eggs.
The location is great, near an area where the lava flow met the sea. The property looks a bit discouraging from the outside, considering surroundings as well. Inside it is refurbished, all good. The room was very clean, nice, with good amenities. The commmunication with hosts was only via messages, one message received with a code and room number. Good that we did not require anything ! The price was...
Somewhat disappointing First, this place is not "on the beach" but about 400m away and you cannot see the sea. The first room provided had not been cleaned. Provided with a second room which was clean and bigger but hellishly hot and the window was nailed shut so we had to leave the room door open to try and remove the heat. Eventually found that the bathroom had underfloor heating but could find...
Its an older building but clean and comfortable inside. The check in is a bit confusing. It tells you to call a number to get the code for the door but they didn’t answer for quite awhile. Guests seemed to get different check in instructions. The day after I received an email with the codes. Overall clean decent place in a remote location
One of the best accommodations we have in our trip. Place was really clean inside and 2 large lobby room served as a way for us to play games and eat food with while family. Best part is we were the only ones for the 3 nights we stayed. Highly recommend this place for big family.

What an excellent place to stay — warm, spacious, cosy, clean, and well equipped! We enjoyed the guesthouse very much. The elderly lady who welcomed us was extremely kind and courteous. Our only regret is that we stayed for just one night. We wish the owner all the best and 1000% recommend this place! Thanks a lot!
The room was spotless, the guesthouse cozy, and the experience awesome. Only thing I’d change, there was a bright florescent light right outside our window, was like sleeping on the sun (in November), even with the blinds closed. Also it was SUPER hot. Had to open the window to make it sleepable.
Gave us a bigger room which was spacious enough to have open 2 big luggages and 2 small luggages at the same time. The stay at South Central Guesthouse was comfortable.
Easy to find, relaxing hot tub and wonderful common areas. Very nice place to stay.
Would definitely recommend! They have all of the amenities you need, plus everything you may have not realized you needed. The room was clean, the hot tub was great to soak in after a day of exploring. We really enjoyed our two nights at this property!
The host is a fantastic person. We were kind of lost, instead of the guesthouse we were at the apartments and fortunately we met the host at the apartments. She took us to the guesthouse - driving alongside us, provided us with food items and her daughter-in-law provided with list of place to see. Rooms were great. Best part was the cleanliness. We were provided with house slippers. There were 2 dogs...

Clean and comfortable home. Quiet and central location to all the sights
The property is lovely, the terrace on a sunny day was especially a hit point! The town is quiet and had excellent food nearby. Stefan was an amazing host, very comfortable for a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. We felt like home.
Stayed her with my wife and son. Wonderful apartment in excellent location near golden circle and southern Iceland attractions. Would recommend it to anyone traveling with a family.
We stayed here few months ago, and sometimes I catch myself daydreaming and remembering this absolutely cozy and homy place. 2 minutes after entering the apartment on the 2nd floor, I already felt like home. Maybe it's because my home is quite similar to this one, but I'm pretty sure most people had felt and will feel the same homy vibe. It has everything you need if you want to stay for a day, a week...
Very cosy and well equipped flat with a garden and a hot tub ! Highly recommended.
Best apartment ever, comftorble, clean, nice decor, friendly hosts, lovely Little City. To good to be true. Love it.

Great place to stay for a small group. Not the best location, but not a big deal for the price. Rooms were clean and well kept. Kitchen was also clean. McDonald’s burger no longer there though!
We came to view Icelands last McDonald’s sold they have on display and it was closed. We were told by a stranger that this place only opens for large groups and you have to call ahead. Snotra house? Snotopen house!
Honestly the best hostel I have ever stayed anywhere in the world. Did not have opportunity to try other hostels in Iceland, but there is no way to go wrong with this one. Very short drive from the main 1 road. Peaceful and calm location. Price is very for Iceland. The interior- bravo, it is warm, cosy, I liked he music and tidiness. Really one of the best places you could find in Iceland to stay for...
The most friendly staff I've seen in an Icelandic hostel :) This hostel has nice retro ("old") interior put in a modern way. You can choose a room for yourself or you can stay with other guests in a shared room (which is a bit cheaper). The prices are all affordable. Shared kitchen is big and has many new appliances (and each table has a toaster machine for yourself, which is handy while making breakfast...
Amazing hostel. The rooms are nice and clean, the owners are very friendly, there's plenty of showers and toilets so you'll never have to wait too long. The kitchen is above average too, it has induction plates, which is a first on my Iceland round-trip. You even get a selection of free sauces there. Check in time is until 22:00 and check out at 10:00.
Easily the best hostel I've ever stay at. The host were kind enough to lent us the Europe power adaptor. Lovely kitchen, beautiful lounge where there's board games, music and comfy seats. Very clean toilet. Worth all our money staying here 👍

Host was very welcoming and had lots of local knowledge and advice for us. he even gave us some maps to get us going. breakfast was delicious and plentiful, great coffee. Great sense of space- big room and large lounge area with a welcoming atmosphere.
Johann is a perfect host - accommodating, helpful on travel tips - his place is absolutely gorgeous! Will add more pics later. HIGHLY Recommend in you are anywhere near Selfoss.
Our stay at this place was absolutely perfect and by far the best accommodation in the area! Johann the host made us feel like home from the first second on. The house is huge and built 10 years ago, so it's still very new and modern. The Jacuzzi is a must do highlight and he also owns some horses. 🙏 He helped us with his local experience to find the best route for our ongoing trip and gave us so...
Arrived at 130am and the host was as friendly as could be and didn't mind the late arrival. Showed us into this beautiful, wonderfully furnished house, and slept very well. Awoke to a great breakfast, made specially for us since we were the only guests that night, and had a nice conversation with him while we ate. The facilities were extremely clean, well equipped, and pretty. Overall, we are extremely...
Johan & Dröfnn we're wonderful hosts. Very large room, 2 spa tubs. Very helpful with places to go. Breakfast was very nice!!! We would come back!!!
We stayed for one night at the very end of our trip and this was a perfect place to wind down and relax. Johan was so friendly and attentive when we arrived and made us feel very at home right away. The room was very comfortable with a nice bed and big screen tv and we had a really good travel crib setup for our baby too. We were able to make use of the jacuzzi on the deck that evening which was just...

Visited Iceland last week. Booked a stay at Hotel Vos. Love the atmosphere at the hotel. Lovely and lively staff, warms & fills up our heart despite the cold weather. Staff are helpful & friendly. Room is decent size with everything you could ask for. None of the hotel supplies lotion but this do. (Not sure if they will continue have the supply but at least during my stay there's 🤭). Two big tub...
Fantastic Stay! Highly Recommend! We had an absolutely fantastic time during our trip with friends! The service was the biggest highlight: the staff was super courteous and truly made us feel welcome. The whole place was immaculately clean. We loved starting our mornings with the delicious and abundant breakfast, which offered something for everyone. And the outdoor jacuzzi was spectacular—the perfect...
Very spacious and comfortable rooms, as are the bathrooms. Only the soundproofing could be better. I would like to highlight the cleanliness of the space and the included breakfast (although it doesn't have much variety, it's a nice plus in Iceland that it's included). Since we arrived late and the weather outside was quite bad, we didn't have the opportunity to see/try the jacuzzi. In terms of...
These are pretty nice rooms, and the private bathrooms were a welcome surprise. The rooms were frigid! The interior walls were thin from room to room to the extent it is easy to hear your neighbor cough. It is possible that it is not the most well insulated. Woke up late, the breakfast was closed.
We stayed here for two nights with our older teenage children (over 2 rooms). The rooms were very clean, had a great shower room and very comfortable beds. We loved the hot tub and the breakfast was very good too. There was also a communal lounge with complementary hot drinks. It was a great place to base ourselves for exploring the area. Good value for money.
We arrived late and were still able to pick up room keys with no bother. Nice to speak to someone and get advice about local area in the morning. Breakfast was great, home made bread was delicious.

This was a unique stay, giving off a camping vibe. I was surprised there wasn't any staff on-site to greet us. Instead, they left the key in a common area for self check-in, and there's a number to call for assistance, so definitely have a phone plan with calls included. The common area was clean, with unlimited self-service coffee and hot water. It would be absolutely stunning if the sky were clear...
Staying at Aurora Igloo was one of the highlights of my trip to Iceland. Even in winter, the igloo was cozy and warm, with three heaters inside. I booked the igloo with private bathroom, which was spacious and well-equipped. Check-in was easy and the hosts responsive when contacted. I would definitely recommend stopping for a night here on your south coast adventure!
I spent one night here in January, luckily, we managed to catch the northern lights as the location is great to see the auroras. the igloos are very clean cosy and warm, and the toilet and shower facilities were very clean too. thoroughly enjoyed my night there, would deffo go back x
It was a bit pricey, but it was the most special accommodation of my life.
I don't know if we got lucky or not, but watching the northern lights dance all over the sky while sitting inside our warm clear igloo was incredible. Comfortable beds, easy check in. No complaints. Also id say if you can spend the extra money, they private shower igloo is well worth the cost. If you don't want to pay the extra its still plenty worth going to. Truly incredible experience.
This place is amazing! We spent one night in an igloo with shared bathrooms. The bathrooms were clean and nice, it was so great to have a coffee and tea after a freezing day. The bed heater was a great feature of the room, it was nice and cozy to see the northern lights from bed. Like a fairy tale :) Thank you!

The nicest hosts I've ever met! Great place to stay! Clean, comfortable, and in a perfect location. I would definitely stay here again.
This was our most eventful stay. The staff was lovely, though reasonably chaotic at times. The parking area is small. It was raining when we were there and a few people got stuck. Love the aesthetic of the hotel. I wish there were more protein options for breakfast, but what was available was still good.
Great stay Staff was very accommodating. Room was great. Small refrigerator was a bonus. Breakfast was delicious.
The room was spacious, private, clean and the breakfast good. The host went out of his way to have our breakfast ready earlier than the normal time so that we could be to our tour in time. Highly recommend!
The setting next to the river was amazing. The room was clean and safe and the hosts were amazing as was the breakfast. Highly recommend.
Pleasant and clean Cabins were quaint and very clean. Environmentally conscious and pleasant surroundings. Walls were a bit thin and easy to hear other guests in adjacent room. Breakfast just okay and very limited. Good for price.

My wife and I stayed at West Ranga Lodge for a fishing trip, and we really enjoyed it. The location is perfect - right by the river and very peaceful. The lodge has a cosy feel and a lot of charm, and everything we needed was available. There was even a dedicated drying room for waders, which was super handy after a day on the water. It’s also possible to buy fishing equipment right at the lodge,...
Whilst the refurbished lounge, sitting and dining areas are very good the accommodation is nothing short of child dormitory standard, even the WC is child height, only one usable socket in the room and that is under a table, no USB sockets in the room, the two very narrow beds in the room had two bedside cabinets between them, it was impossible to turn over in bed without your head hitting either the...
Had a lovely stay for two nights with my family of four. Hótel and room are spotless and beautifully decorated with a great view of the river in the back. the hotel is decorated beautifully and newly done. the beds were very comfortable and you get a nice view of the river depending on what side you’re on, the other side is an unfortunate view of the parking lot. the soundproofing was pretty good here we didn’t hear anything overnight even tho the fishermen got up very early. we had no idea this place does not offer dinner, it wasn’t written anywhere...
beautiful lodge, great food and friendly people 🤠
Best hotel i stayed at in Iceland! Great staff and super yummie breakfast. Me and my mum spent two nights at river hotel, i definitely can recommend to spend more time there then just sleeping time. Perfect location to start a lil walk from, spending time in the spa area (hot tub and sauna) or just reading a book while watching the fisherman standing in the river.
