Reykjavik, Skólavörðustígur 45, Midborg
● Center: 750 m
🌞 Beach - 2.4 km

Exceptional staff service frequently described as friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful; one guest highlighted the overnight staff member Julian as 'very helpful and understanding'. Excellent location directly opposite Hallgrímskirkja church and close to key attractions, with free parking available nearby. Complimentary 24/7 tea, coffee, and hot chocolate in the lounge, a welcome comfort in Icelandic weather. Breakfast described as decent and delicious by multiple guests, with one praising the tuna salad and good coffee options. Rooms are clean and comfortable with varied views, including some with panoramic sights of the city and cathedral. No elevator in the building, which is inconvenient for guests with heavy or multiple pieces of luggage. Several rooms, especially on upper floors, have slant ceilings and limited headroom, challenging for tall guests. Room sizes are generally small, with tight bathrooms and limited electrical outlets. Noise can be an issue in some rooms facing the street or near construction, and thin windows do not fully block outside sounds. Some guests noted dated décor and lack of in-room amenities such as electric kettles or shampoo samples.

I really liked staying at this hotel. I stayed on the 4th floor to get the larger room. The other reviews are correct, the slant ceiling is no joke. This is not a room for tall people. The bathroom shower is also very tight. There is also no elevator so consider your packing. With that said, the staff is amazing. Someone is always available, friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast is fantastic and there is tea/coffee available 24/7. I enjoyed the lounge and meet several people while sitting. I found the location great. Bussing from Stop 8 can be a little tricky, but the church is beautiful. The bells ring every 15 min or so but they didn't bother my sleeping.

The best hotel if you're going to Reykjavik. In front of the main church. It was a wonderful experience. A quiet, comfortable, and clean place with a decent breakfast for the price. Last but not least, we want to highlight Leonardo's kindness; he helped us with everything we needed, always with a wonderful portuguese smile ;)
Thank you!

Currently here with my daughter and she'd like to move in. Lol. We are in the west building facing the church. The location is great and there's a free parking lot across the road. Because we came in from Canada our sleep times are way off, but the black out curtains helped a lot. The road noise can be a bit high but it didn't affect us at all. It's a corner room so we get a lot of people outside taking and laughing. Again, it was not an issue for us. It does mostly go away later at night. The location is excellent. It's at the edge of downtown with good access to the major roads. Staff are very nice. The continental breakfast is what you'd expect. The cappuccino maker did a good job. The only issue I guess is the rooms are a bit small, as is the WC. We were so lucky to be able to check in early, as our flight landed the equivalent of 1:30am our home time. Overall would come back again.

Good Place, just infront of the church

Excellent location.
Brilliant staff, nothing was too much trouble for them.
No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, although there was tea, coffee and hot chocolate available on demand in the downstairs bar... not really convenient in the middle of the night.
I had quite a poky little room right at the top of the hotel. Facilities in the room left a little to be desired. No spare electricity points. I had to unplug either the lamp or the heater in order to charge my phone.
There was restricted headroom in part of the room.
The decor throughout was tired and in need of some upgrading.
I only stayed one night. I'm glad it wasn't a longer stay.
Not exceptional value for money.
Plus point, I did see and film the Aurora through the skylight window.

Everything about this hotel in Reykjavík was perfect. The location is outstanding, making it easy to explore the city on foot. The breakfast was delicious with a great selection, and a perfect start to the day. I also loved that there was complimentary coffee and tea available in the lobby — a really nice touch after walking around in the Icelandic weather.

Overall, a fantastic stay. I would absolutely come back!

A lovely hotel in a great central location

The views was awesome but the toilet has a smelly smell. The free hot chocolate helps a lot in wintertime.

Their Rye bread ice-cream with cream and caramelized rhubarb syrup was amazingly delicious! Their Icelandic platters were worth trying out if you wish to sample some Icelandic specialty such as mashed fish and smoked trout.

Service was quick and cafe attendants were friendly despite the busy crowd. This cafe is definitely worth visiting ??

Food is traditional Icelandic. We had the fish stew there, and it was ok, but not the best we had in Reykjavik. Beautiful location, delicious rye bread ice cream (sounds weird, but it works!). Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area.
26.11.2017 Miguel
Great atmosphere, with lovely music playing. Very amicable staff.

The food, homemade Icelandic ware, is delicious and affordable compared to a large majority of places in Iceland.

I recommend trying the Rye Bread Ice-cream.

Based on the menu and the smell that hit me at the front door, I was expecting fishy and funky. It ended up being delicious fish, meat soup, and veggies. The fermented shark was pretty weird, but worth trying. Prices not too bad for a huge plate of food.
15.11.2017 Sam
One of the best and most authentic meals of our trip! We got here 10 minutes before they opened and we're seated right away. We split one of the platters with a bit of everything. Weirdly delicious! Make sure you an adventurous eater tho!

During our stay we visited this location three times. The staff was phenomenal and the food was great. Awesome pizza and I'd recommend to anyone who is craving for some.

My 9 y/o daughter wanted a pizza and this place was open after 20:00 so we were fortunate.

The place was nice and warm and the ambiance was very pleasant. We ordered the cheese pizza and it was very good. At only stayed for a quick pizza but it would've been nice to go there for dinner.

Good place of you're looking for something familiar.

Try the ravioli. Very good. Order a pizza to go. The quantity is so less you would feel hungry soon.
27.12.2017 Magnus
F**ing disgusting. We were sitting next to the pizza maker. The heaters where behind us. The waiter then dropped our childrens pizza right in front of us, told us that they would make another one. The waiter put the pizza RIGHT ON THE HEATER BEHIND US. Then a few moments later he brought it back to us. Claiming it was a new one.
24.12.2017 Shari
Ok food, better to spend a bit more and get amazing food somewhere else

All meals look great but completely lack in taste.
