Harrowing Experience Alert!!

Is it my mistake that I booked the hotel through Goibibo? Is it my mistake I requested the hotel reception for an early check-in because we were travelling with a senior citizen? I really need answer from this hotel.

We booked this hotel and paid 2200 before 1 month. We requested over phone before 2 weeks of our arrival for an early check-in and the hotel replied that upon arrival they would provide early check-in. We also emailed them two days ahead to provide us early check-in but didn't receive any reply.

Upon arrival early morning we requested for an early check-in as we had already mailed and had also called them before two weeks. But instead we got one of the most rude treatment ever from two receptionists at the reception. They denied us early check-in stating that the whole hotel is full and due to cold no rooms will be empty before 12 or may be even 1 pm that day. Our Sunday suddenly turned dark. We jst became numb completely with their behaviour. They immediately suggested us to cancel our booking and leave the hotel because nearby many hotels were available. Please tell us is this the reply one would expect from a hotel where you came to check in on a winter morning at 5 am with your baggage,a senior citizen travelling alongwith you and that too after 36 hours of travel??

Imagine being out at 5 am on a winter night in the middle of the road without any hopes to find another room. This was the suggestion coming from two receptionists. Horrible receptionists.

We said we can't cancel now because already the time of full refund cancellation is over and we won't get any refund. They said that they would approve the full refund request immediately when they would receive the same from Goibibo. We managed to find one hotel after two hours and cancelled the booking based on their assurance.

An entire week passed and we kept calling the Goibibo team that we are yet to get the refund. The Goibibo team after repeated requests to the hotel informed us that the hotel has denied the refund request and no refund of 2200 will me made to us.

I immediately called the hotel while returning in train and I got a reply from the same receptionist that i should have immediately cancelled the booking when they had suggested which is 5 am and should not have waited till 9 am to leave and cancel my booking with them..It is my fault that we kept their room engaged without cancelling immediately. It is my fault that we took time to find another hotel.
These are the harsh words you get to listen after travelling for 36 hours at a stretch to check in to the most reviewed hotel in Howrah!!!!

Pathetic rooms.... washrooms are so dirty that a person cannot use it. Bucket kept in it, was all coated with algae. Tiles were dirty. Washbasin and pot was super dirty and broken. Coming to room, looks like pillows have not been changed since long time. They were very dirty. Cupboards were broken. No chairs in the room to sit. We asked at the reception to change our, but they mentioned no.other rooms are available. Room had a pungent smell.

The service at this hotel was extremely disappointing. In the morning, there was no proper water supply only black, dirty, and foul-smelling water was coming from the taps, making it impossible to bathe.

When I complained to the staff, they casually stated that the water tank was empty. This level of irresponsibility is unacceptable, especially when guests depend on the hotel for basic necessities like clean water.
Even worse, the water provided for drinking was also dirty and had an unpleasant smell, which is a serious health and hygiene risk for guests.

This experience was horrible and unsafe. I would strongly advise others not to choose this hotel.

My stay at Kiaan Inn was absolutely terrible from start to finish. In my personal experience, the room was filthy, the bedsheets were dirty and stinking unwashed with stains, and there was no hot water whatsoever. It felt like basic cleanliness and hospitality didn’t exist here.

The staff made everything worse. From my perspective, they were shockingly rude, dismissive, and showed zero interest in helping with any issue. Instead of resolving problems, they acted like guests were a burden.

As a woman traveling, I felt the room and overall environment were completely unsafe and uncomfortable. Based on how the place was not maintained and how the staff behaved, I didn’t feel secure at all. It was an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone—especially female travelers.

Overall, Kiaan Inn was, in my opinion, one of the most pathetic and poorly managed hotels I’ve ever encountered. I regret staying here, and I strongly advise others to avoid it based on my experience.

The location of the place is very pathetic. And the condition of the rooms and hotel is terrible. In photo it looks good but in real no one will say it’s a hotel. After evening the place feels very dark and lonely.
